    Hello nice video nice job and thanks. I was able to visually see a slight split in mine and like I said I was hoping you would too. That little piece of hose is under pressure while operating. I'd inspect it again and replace none the less. It's likely pushing 20 years old. Wish you the best on this repair and appreciate your sharing. Good luck and take care.

    I've had multiple problems in a fuel pump it would run sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't I wound up putting an external electric pump on mine down under the floor pan on the right side and it has worked fine ever since

    Great video, i am having the same issue, but now I'm worried because I need two 10mm wrenches, that may be tough to find

      Thanks for watching. I don't get it, is there a shortage on 10mm wrenches like everything else? Take the rear wheels off, it makes getting to the pan bolts way easier.

    Thanks for your informative videos. Do you have any videos about how to attach the front pto shaft and bracket to the JOhn Deere 445? I have the kit but still need to install it. Can't find any videos about this subject. Thanks

      Thank you. I do not. I remember when I had my quick hitch and extended pto shaft it took a minute or two to figure it out the first time. I remember it being simple once I finally got it.

    I had a,
    "crank but no start", issue with my 445.
    It turns out that the fuel pump relay was bad.
    There are 3 of these relays located on the right side under the dash-board where all the wiring is. All 3 are interchangable.
    Amazon sells many of them.
    The "Standard Motor Products" {RY116}
    is one of them that work.

      Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave that comment, I’m sure that may help many people in the future reading through the comments maybe me too, but hopefully not. :-). I don’t even know where that relay is located. Could you pinpoint some more information on that?

    • @theSword-
      @theSword- 7 місяців тому

      @@georgea6403 ....Since they are all 3 interchangeable, you switch them around each time you try to start it. Also, testing them with a 12v source will do it.

    Fllo your advice on the fuel line.Instead of 50ml I get a stead stream of fuel coming ou as soon I put my foot on te brake in order to ignite. What does that mean for the fuel pump?

    Another problem spot is the red fuel pump fuse on the right side down by the relays. Suggest replacing with a weather tight type.

      I know that from working on one that burned the fuel pump out and installed replacement and couldn't get it to run. Only way was to run a hot wire to it. Checked all the fuses and they were good check relays and finally found it by backprobing the fuse holder and had only 5 volts on the output side of the fuse

    Useful video, thanks. My 445 is running rough but manages at full throttle. However at times it starts to miss and bog down. It normally recovers but I am waiting for the time it does not. Did you get your issue resolved??

    • @TNYankee2020
      @TNYankee2020  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it runs great. My issue is never a fuel issue. It was a coil issue. I also have a troubleshooting video on that in case it helps. Thanks for watching brother.

    I stopped mowing with my 455 and went to start it back up and will not start.. Crank and crank and won't start. I do have flow at and past the filter. I cleaned my screen, still no start. Will a weak pump cause a no start even though I'm getting flow??

    • @TNYankee2020
      @TNYankee2020  6 місяців тому

      I know that can be frustrating brother. It could be a myriad of things but I would check coils. I also have a coil troubleshooting video that would be a quick way to test it

      @@TNYankee2020 thank you, mine is the Yanmar diesel though, so no spark plugs. Wondering if there is a switch or something. It seems like it's not getting fuel, usually I'll see some slight vapor out of the exhaust when cranking, but there is none now. It was odd because it was mowing prefectly with no hesitation, no power loss, I stopped for a couple minutes, now it's dead in the water.
      I also noticed that when I turn the key, the fuel pump runs and stays running. I'm pretty sure it cut off after a few seconds before.
      I should also note that the fuel shutoff solenoid works well, pulls in quickly all the way when the key is engaged.

    • @TNYankee2020
      @TNYankee2020  6 місяців тому

      Yeah I'm not sure, could be a switch. PTO. Seat Switch, etc?? And certainly frustrating cause usually when it happens there's no rhyme or reason. Like you said mowing good shut it off now it's not.

    I have found that the Yankees from Appalachian New York make excellent Tennessee Hillbillies. Many of my ancestors came to Tennessee from Pennsylvania and New Jersey about 200 years ago. Many people do not realize the majority of East Tennesseans actually fought for the Union during the Civil War.

    So, my 1996 JD 445 has not never started until NOW! Has the Kawasaki FD620D 22hp fuel injected engine. Started it up at my property, brought it home to clean and store as I’ve always done and now the damn thing won’t start!! Got good spark and I’ve got 1 cylinder flooding with gas and 1 side pretty dry now!! I don’t know what I could have done or gotten wet, but something happened!! I’ve changed plugs and cleaned ALL connections in wiring and checked fuses to find nothing wrong anywhere!! It’ll turn over and even flame out the breather, but will not start! Any ideas?? I’m just pissed off and miffed at this point. After I was done cleaning, it fired right up but stalled right out and that was it

    • @TNYankee2020
      @TNYankee2020  2 місяці тому +1

      I would try the coils. Do you have a battery terminal that is corroded somewhere? I have another video on the coils that ultimately fixed my issues.

    • @Rut1971
      @Rut1971 2 місяці тому

      @@TNYankee2020 I will check out your video, my battery is new this year and it cranks just fine with good spark, my number 2 cylinder is being totally flooded out, yet the #1 cylinder remains dry. I was leaning towards injector, but it also tested fine. Not sure if it’s coincidence that I washed it up and it wouldn’t start or what. Even spraying starter fluid into breather won’t start it. Just cranks and cranks and CRANKS!! I’m really hoping it’s not the injector module as they are $350 for a used one!! And over $1000 for new!! Trying to find a compatible mower to test it on, but no luck finding one yet.

Will let you know eventually what got it running 🏃.
