I’m hopefully filming my reading survey this week! I just finished a book that I think you might enjoy, it’s called A Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy I. Lin, it’s a duology, the second book is coming out in a couple of weeks and it’s a fantasy about magic involving tea! It has lots of Chinese mythology in it and I loved it, the only issue I had with it was that the characters weren’t developed all that well but it was still brilliant! I love that tarot purse by the way 😍

I’m not sure if you know this or not, but unfortunately Madison passed away in March (check the comments on her last posted video). 😢💔 Thankfully, those of us that enjoyed her content still have her videos to watch.

Also, if you ever get a chance, The Reckless series by Cornelia Funke is AMAZING. It is kinda hard to find, I think it is only sold online. The world building and character development is SO amazing!

Omg I just finished reading The Great Alone, because you recommended it in another one of your videos, and I COMPLETELY agree with your favorite couple of Leni and Matthew omg such a great love story 😭 and just a phenomenal book in general. I can’t even count the amount of times I cried while reading it lol. Definitely one of my new favorite books ever!

I refuse to even read war of two queens. I found the third one already pretty rough to get through, then when book 4 came out I heard a few spoilers and I completely noped out of the series 😂 honestly though, the prequel series is much better. I mean it’s not peak literature and we all know what we’re consuming when we choose to read her books but the prequel is objectively better.
HOSAB though! Gosh that ending. It’s been almost a year and I’m still not over it. It wasn’t as good as HOEAB - which to this day is, plotwise, the best SJM book in my opinion - but THE ending ohmygod. That and the epilogue have me so hyped up still haha I truly hope we’ll get Crescent City 3 this year because man… the waiting is killing me 😅
I agree with everything you said. 💯 I don’t think I can even bring myself to read the prequel, though. I have too many other good books in my TBR backlog 😂
And oh my gosh I know right?! I feel like we are gonna have to wait forever for Crescent City 3. Sometimes I’ll remember the end of 2 and just be like 😲

I sooo understand what you mean, I still remember how it felt to find out, while reading the last chapters... When we realise where Bryce ends up I got sooo excited! I was at my boyfriend's parents' house so I was trying to keep it all together and not be too weird about it but my boyfriend had to come and check up on me because he heard me scream 😂😂😂

As soon as you pulled out The War of Two Queens I screamed. Because right now after reading the second book of the spin off series of From Blood and Ash, 'A Light in the Flame', The War of Two Queens is looking like good times. I've said this before and I'm gonna say it again. ALITF is not a bad book at all, in fact, it had its interesting moments but it's the sex scenes one after the other. I am not really into romance and smut like that so they were very painful for me to go through. As I've said it is not a bad book because when the world building and other stuff started, I was HOOKED. But it's just that the sexual scenes were too many. But after reading ALITF, I was missing From Blood and Ash universe.😅😅😅😅
As I've said before, I'm not saying it's a bad book. With a little editing, it would have been an amazing read.
Also if you are into Crime Thrillers, I would like to recommend 'Five Survive' by Holly Jackson. It is violent (I would say once look up the trigger warnings because I don't know what might not be okay with you), it is thrilling, it doesn't have unnecessary flashbacks which don't lead up to anything at the end and atleast to me, it did not feel cheesy at all. I think you'll enjoy it if you are looking for a Crime Thriller.
Love your input on the ALITF series. I haven’t read it and likely won’t honestly because I’m just so disenchanted with Blood and Ash at this point. I love and adult fantasy, but if the cringey romance stuff gets too over the top I’m out. ✌️
Ok I just looked up Five Survive and immediately added it to my TBR! Thanks for the recommendation! It totally looks up my alley. Very recently published, too!

If you want some cozy fantasy reads, I recently read “Emily Wildes Encyclopedia of Faeries” and it was so so good, highly recommend🥲
