Oh my god I was just about done with the port forwarding guides and trying to have my own server that I didn’t have to actually be playing. Thank you for this simple alternative that works every time. Now my family can all play together even at different times.
Love the guide! this help me and my friends play together since we had a bad experience with server hosting sites. I have question, I am the host of the server and i want to run the server on both my laptop and PC since both cant be on 24/7 so i would switch to my other one when i sleep. Is that possible? I installed Radwin on my laptop and it had a different IP.
Great video, this worked flawlessly! Is there any way to use an existing save and swap it with the one running on this dedicated server? Would that risk bricking the files or something?
Unfortunately transferring server progress between computers is not possible currently even though files are exactly the same. I have heard success with linux servers to linux, but definitely not windows to linux or windows. I learnt it the hard way and restarted my progress as well.
Kind of an off-topic question - in your opinion, what's a good way to keep your server up and running? Do a restart once a day? Once a week? Do you just have the displays turn off after a certain amount of time?
No worries. 1. Minimize background processes that are not needed. 2. Restart every 4-12hrs depending how many players are in your server and how much RAM you have allocated. I have an average of 10-15 players in my server and I find the need to restart every 10-12hrs. Server is hosted with a 10 core XEON and 16gb ram. Server do feel a bit sluggish when there more than 10 people. 2a. Server memory leak is currently a huge issue for this game, regardless if you're hosting a co-op server or a dedicated server. Hopefully the developers fix this quick. 4. I have the displays off all the time, they are only turned on if I need them.
Hey, I know It has been 5 months but let me help you. Open "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced S" and then click "Inboun Rules" and make every "pal, palworl, palserver and etc" enabled. And ask your friend to join again. It'll work!
I watched you other video that you linked this video in, the one about setting up the dedicated server. Do i need to run buckdns and this at the same time or am i ok with just this VPN and not DNS? Also, if im using steam dedicated, do i just bypass steam with the firewall bypass drop down menu?
Make sure both host(server) and client (gamer) is green on the radmin list of computers. Make sure server has palserver.exe listed on list of exceptions. And lastly, make sure your friends are copying the correct address("host ip address on radmin":8211)
Try disabling windows firewall on both your machine and your friends and see if the connection works, if so go back and figure out which ports on ur firewall need to be open so you can connect, not on the router on the computer itself
i cant get this to work. ive tried everything and looked through all the comments and replies and it still wont work, my friend cant join my network. the palworld dedicated server wont give me the .ini flies, and when i create network and allow pal to be on the firewall, it give my friend an 'invalid network and password. error

Thanks for the video. Is it possible to make several worlds one the same server. Or would I have to create a server, remember it, and then make a new one for a new group? I work at a gaming center and we have many different groups playing together, so I would need a World for each group! Thank you
For what you want to achieve, you will need multiple server file set ups from the same computer with different port configuration. I have not tested this myself, but I would first try to have the one server set up with port 8211, then another server from another folder setup with for example port 8212. You will need quite a beefy server to run multiple instances of palworld server because the ram leaks are still not fixed yet.
If you're setting this up for local network. No port forwarding will be needed. If you're setting this up to connect via the internet. Then port forward will be required for both ports.
Hi, im using same version with my friend but my friend cant join my server through Radmin. I can open my game and server but my friend will get Connection Timed Out error when connecting to my ip
World settings will have to be edited before launching the server, ie. Palworldsettings.ini in the .../config/windowsserver folder . They can't be edited on the fly.
with the radmin vpn it doesn't show the ip for my pc and other servers. did everything right in the video here just don't see that info! anyone can help?
Nope, you should use 127.0.0.1 if you're hosting and playing on the same PC. Use the local IP address of the server if you using a different PC on the same network.
I wished I could help. I think it's best to redo everything(deleting your old server files then setting up the server again). Follow step by step according to my video. Best of luck!
Short answer: No it's currently not possible. It's not as easy as just transferring your save files into a dedicated server. It requires some kind of tedious editing. I suggest rerolling.
I did this and it worked fine yesterday, now today i am back to getting the issue of a super long loading screen followed by a message that said connection timed out and it takes me back to the original screen. How can I fix this?
You might want to check your windows firewall exceptions on Radmin and also make sure all clients on your Radmin network has a stable connection ( green/connected) .

No you dont have to download the game on the server pc. You have to run the server at least once to get "saved" folder.
The host pc must be online to make other player can play at server ? Or other player can use only radmin
Yes, host must be online 24/7.
with the radmin vpn it doesn't show the ip for my pc and other servers. did everything right in the video here just don't see that info! anyone can help?
Sounds like something is blocking the connections internally. Do you have anti virus with firewall install? I would check for that first.
If i use this method, did the game auto saves every minutes or do i need to manually save the server using admin command?
It auto saves. If you were to shutdown or restart the server. Manually saving will help u save 3-5 mins of progress.
Unfortunately nothing populates under the server on the VPN. Did I do something wrong?
Do you mean even after your friends join your network on radmin?
If I connect to the different network, my friends wont able to join the previous server, is it right?
Yes this is correct.
I don't have an option to add the pal file anyway to fix this?
