Hi hii !! I’m Amby the artist that was all caught up in all of this.. To be a bit more clear she tried to trade a character by the name Jest that wasn’t the deep sea model (Seaccubus) as that was the model / reference I made her when she first commissioned me. Jest was another model and design made by someone else, who she did end up selling. Majority of the characters she owned were sold. I’d like to also mention me and Mika now own Clover again ! 🌈💗
i was involved in this situation !! I'm the Mari who she charged back 3000 DOLLARS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SPEAKING ABOUT THIS ;o;!!!!!!! It was such a stressful few days for me, thank you so much for bringing awareness to this person
3k usd? wtf in my country with the current inflation thats like 1500 x 3000 = 4,5m bruh.. i dont do 2D rigging most of the time i do 3D rigging but i dont think the concepts are so different that aint worth 3k.
@@Damian_DH hey man art is subjective so prices are varried. Also 2D takes a lot of time and effort to rig and illustrate. Also maybe don't be an asshole about prices??? Plus artists in other countries all vary on their baseline as well. This is a service not a commercial good. For example I sold a ref sheet commission for over 600 USD, but someone else may only charge 100 or even less, others may charge 2k for what I had done. Don't be an Ahole.
@@Damian_DH 2D and 3D rigging are completely different, and 2D rigging itself can be very laborious. It can be very complicated and time-consuming, especially is there are multiple add-ons. As for price, you're not only paying for the artwork, but also for the artist's time. Art is a luxury, not an essential need - the price is justified.
Thank you for telling that art is a luxury. I feel like so many don't understand that and think they NEED cheap art or a VTuber Model. No you don't. Start with png or make it with Vroid by urself. You don't need any money at all to be a Vtuber.
This. Ironmouse who is arguably the biggest vtuber in the western scene started with a free model, same goes for neuro. Too many people think that having expensive model = success. When you dont even know if you like streaming to begin with.

Dear artists! If the customer says "I know artists who will do it for less" in response to your refusal of a discount on the order, answer "I know customers who will pay more for it"
@thetornadocrusader968 I'm sorry but I really can't understand your reply. Can you explain what you are trying to say, just because I feel that your reply doesn't relate at all to the original comment. Edit: I can understand that some people can't afford what an artist is offering as the price, but that person does not need to say "I know artists who will do it for less" because if that's the case then why don't they ask that 'artist' then. This phrase is usually just a tactic to make artists to lower their price. If the price is out of the customers budget then they should be honest and maybe try to make some adjustments.
@@justmevoid2509they’re just probably trying to convey that some people genuinely cannot afford it, and the message can be seen as mean or harmful by some people
@@thetornadocrusader968 My comment was based on a quote from Pinterest: If a customer says "I know people who will do it for less", reply "I know customers who will pay more for it". English is not my native language and I used google translator to write the comment, so maybe it twisted a little what I wanted to say
FOR ANY ARTIST HERE.. DO NOT HAVE TO SHARE YOUR SCHEDULE WITH CLIENTS. they aren't your boss, you are not under contract, so they have NO RIGHT into demanding hourly or daily updates or having control over your schedule..and you certainly DON'T share when you take breaks and so, that's YOUR PERSONAL life. Not even a formal boss has that right.
in my experience doing comms most people aren't like this. just make things clear in your tos and don't budge on prices and tos stuff and you will most likely be fine. also take at least 50% payment up front. i do understand if you still wouldn't want to open comms because there are unfortunately a small amount of people like this out there.
Please know, not everyone is like this! I legit cannot afford to comm an official model + rigging. 9/10 I have less then $100 in my account but never, EVER, would i consider approaching actual artist and ask for a discount out of the blue. I look forward to hopefully seeing/following along with your work ^>^.
All 2d avatars are a scam. The whole pay $300-2,000 for a 2d image has always been a scam. No part of the vr community isnt a scam. Why do you think people bump the prices up so high? Its all a scam
Eh i do change my usernames somewhat frequently so i dont really see how thats a bad sign, but making brand new accounts constantly is definently something to raise your eyebrows at
15:12 Couple of months ago someone wanted to commission me a 10+ comic pages for 45 USD... I asked them if they could at least go for 70 USD but they said "I have other artist that made this for 42 USD" Cool. Good for them. Why are you asking me then?
@@Ninjacatmuffin Oh yeah, totally. It sounded cheap so I asked around and a couple of people told me it was way too low. But since It was the first time someone tried to commission me I was willing to do it for at least 70usd.
@@hocuspocusfocus6229don’t undersell yourself, stingy clients are the worst, constantly want redraws or fixes they didn’t pay for, from experience, one big client is better than a couple of cheap stingy ones, the people who see your worth will be much better clients
@@MagicalSakuraArt I wish! lol It was 45USD for 45 Panels, so 1USD per panel. That can be translated to 3-5 panels per page since they were asking for 2 protagonist fighting with several background characters and each panel with action scenes.... If it was 45usd PER page I would have said yes.
Why does she keep changing accounts instead of changing her username...re branding doesn't mean deleting all your social media, you just re brand it. Also the "I have someone that does the same as you for 300, so lower your prices" makes me rage.... it plays on the fear of not being commissioned of artist and having to work for free out of fear
Maybe she has multiple personalities, and maybe having several accounts is cathartic to her. Perhaps having a multitude of accounts sooths the internal congress of her mind. How many times have you started a new character when you are playing a rpg. We are all guilty of starting too many new characters at some point.
I still cannot believe people disrespect artists when their _entire career_ relies on it ( -also unrelated, but I love listening to your voice lol- ) Edit: -just realized this is the first comment on the video. Dayum.-
I understand her pattern, she buys extremely pretty models for low prices, haggles for said lower price, uses model, then SELLS them to basically do it all over again 1. Buy cheap model 2.use model for a week 3. Sell model 4. Use the money she made from selling that model to buy EVEN MORE cheaper stuff 5. Its a cycle
Dude you have no idea how bad it truly is. The saga is A BOOK SERIES. I bought that angler fish model from mao and it was a nightmare experience that involved threats and anxiety and much much regret so much that I ended up selling the model because of the whole experience
@@roka745 i bought the model but paypal was holding the money due to the amount and it was taking a week for it to process and she threatened to take the model back and sell it to someone else because the money was on hold when i had no control over that at all. and she kept messaging me saying she was giving me x amount of days to have the money processed to her.. and so for days i was stressed on how long the processing took. It took 5 business days and when it did process she acted like she didn't just pressure me daily.
Nah, she's still on twitter. Still denying to be the scammer involved in several situations, and isn't replying to anyone posting screenshots trying to prove what she's up to. Except trying to deny things despite there being receipts. Oh and wouldn't you know it, she has a new model again.
When you flip a discounted TV or a pair of sneakers, you're getting over on a million dollar corporation that gives zero fricks about you. Getting over on an artist who is a single person spending their own time and hard earned resources to create something personal to you and then flipping that for a profit is the scum of the earth. Love this channel, always keepin it real
🤔 I'm genuinely curious What exactly makes it "getting over on" them? They charged what they believed their work was worth, and where PAID for that work. Why would anyone genuinely be angry? Artists aren't mad when a model sits in a folder collecting dust once a vtuber rebrands But the idea that someone was able to resell/upcharge a model that is ready to use the day of purchase is wrong? I'm pretty confused why that would make anyone mad. Aside the fact of like "damn the world I could have make x amount more!!!" The person who was commissioned doesn't own the model or design, right? Why feel entitled to it after you've gotten the money for your work?
@PragmaticBLT I appreciate you for asking this question, and I'll try to provide an analogy to support my point, but I understand and respect if you don't agree with what I'm saying. If someone is running a lemonade stand, they get the ingredients and supplies, they spend time to set it up, and they sell lemonade for 50 cents a cup, which they find to be reasonable and fair given their costs and they can still make a bit of profit off of the sale. They love selling lemonade, they love the way that people are excited to have some fresh lemonade. Someone comes along and says, "50 cents for lemonade, I can easily resell that for a dollar!" and proceeds to buy a few cups of lemonade which they then go out and resell. Maybe they realize, "Well, are there other lemonade stands which I can use to make a bit of extra money off of." They could do something positive in that situation, maybe go back to the stand and say "hey did you know that many people would be willing to pay a dollar for your lemonade?" Or, they could do the greedy thing and return to buy up all of the lemonade and then go profit off of someone else's time and labor. We often hear the term "starving artist" used, and that's because many artists have to work a traditional job while doing art in their spare time, it's often not feasible to be an artist full time. As an artist, you want to find a fair and reasonable price for your work; if you value it too highly, you may end up, like you said, with a piece of your work just hanging out in a folder. But that piece still costs you time and resources to create. Maybe you're struggling to make ends meet, so you even sell yourself short to make something off of the art, which could, in turn, negatively impact the value of your other creations. "Well, I got the last painting for $40, why is this one now $100?" Those who have resources can always use those resources to generate more resources. If I have a thousand dollars, I can try (key word try) to turn that into more money. But if I don't have anything (in this case money), it's difficult to turn nothing into something. So if the world is overtaken by greed, then those who are creating become exploited by those with resources, and that's not a fair and balanced system. Eventually the person selling lemonade might realize what's going on, seeing how the same customer keeps coming back to buy up all of their lemonade, and even catches them reselling it at a higher price. And then they say "well screw it, I don't want to make lemonade anymore" and we would find ourselves in a world without lemonade stands, or without artists and the beauty they create. I know this was long-winded, but I hope it helps paint a picture. Peace and Love!
@@justkubz I know this is 3 months old but oh well, its not the customers responsibility to make sure the artist charges fairly for their work, its also just simply not right to say, you can't upsell this piece of art you bought from me, like your deal is done what does it matter what they do with it afterwards
Custom Vtuber model is luxury. If you don't want to pay to artist, learn to do it yourself. For a custom model, you are paying for time and honed skills. If you don't want to do that, go play with Vroid studio or something. Artists don't deserve to deal with this kind of s*it.
Vroid is a great tool if you want to be a vtuber but don't have the money. If you spend time using it and have or learn some actual art skills you can create amazing 3D characters. Even if you don't have the skills you can make some pretty solid character designs. Although it's limited if all you want to do is just mix and match, so I'd recommend spending some time learning how to properly do hair, clothes and accessories yourself.
@@HyattHyatt3179 Yeah, and there are places to download hairstyles, clothes, etc for your model aswell (some free, some not). I have seen cool Vroid studio models, but that ofc, also takes time and skill that some people are not ready to invest like probably the person of this video. But I think Vroid studio is pretty easy to start with when thinking of first Vtuber model, as you don't have to rig anything or think/worry about layers. I think they recently (or is it coming feature?) added feature where your 3D character looks more like 2D if 3D model style is not the for their taste. But yeah, there are good alternatives to work with, scamming artists is just not the way if you want to be respectful human being.
@Samkainsta Sorry, I ment paying the price artist deserves of their work (this is partly in artists end also if they want to give all of those discounts). Selling the models in higher price than bought is telling they do not want to pay to artist the price the artist deserve (like repeating that behaviour means they know the price for the job, but don't want to pay that price, just want to take advantage of people and make profit from that). That's pretty much scalper behaviour.
Where are these artists selling their things and getting commissions? I can never find any places where people want a comission, i can only find places where lots of people say they are open to comissions but no one ever comissions them
@@Saishi-i4p I'm not selling commissions myself, but probably places like VGen, discord groups, their twitter page, reddit communities that are assosiated with vtubing (like live2d) etc. But there are so many artists and riggers, so your own work has to stand out. And people probably trust more to people who has their portfolio for everyone to see and have had clients before (that verifies that they really get the model). I have seen many people asking for someone to make their model and usually there are few replies in there (reddit for example) from artists/riggers.
20:14 that message is the text equivalent of a turd wrapped in pretty ribbons, she's trying so hard to sound "nice" to guilt trip the artist into slaving for her
I was so hesitant to get my 2d model cause I couldn't afford a good, high-quality model. I'm glad I found an artist who not only gave me a more affordable price but also was willing to work with me on payments. I was able to pay when I had the money for it, and my artist was so understanding of it.
I hate when people sell artists work for mor3 then they actually paid for it because there over charging for something not made by them😭 EDIT umm so ik peopel don’t like when other peopel do this but DANG THIS IS THE MSOTCLIKES IVE GOTTEN BEFORE
There was a scammer on the vrchat sub reddit, who was trying to resell premade worlds and stolen models, with shitty assets ripped from games. The sub called her out, and she deleted her account.
She isn't flipping. She's scalping. Flippers put effort in and improve the items they sell (good ones at least.) Like buying a old desk, striping the paint, polishing the wood and selling it to someone else. This is just scamming artists.
Man I hate it when ppl are entitled to free art or discounts on art just because they're broke. Like, if you can't com someone, either don't, or learn to do it yourself?? I'm broke, so I learn to do it myself, take accountability for yourself
Even if they're not you really shouldn't get yourself involved, or continue to be involved, they'll just keep doing it because they know it works. Call an ambulance and possibly police to their location and tell them that there's a person trying to take their life there, then leave and don't look back. It's important to see the distinction between using s*icide attempts for attention and manipulation, and someone genuinely talking about feeling crap and needing help. Both situations are fine to distance from if you can't handle it, but the second one is significantly less of a horrible person, and just needs help.
Bruh as an artist my schedule/when I work or when I take breaks is none of the clients business. They will get wips at the approval stages unless I am feeling particularly excited . It baffles me they wanted their nose up the artists’ ass the whole process????
Many artists have TOS against reselling/selling models paid for. This is because of situations like what is described, but also the artist is still the "copyright" holder, so they have the right to tell the vtuber no.
Copyright does not exclude you from reselling art you possess. The question would be if that TOS supersedes common law that allows you to resell the art.
@@DaShikuXI If you don't own the copyright you can't re-sell the character. But I do think it's kinda weird to not sell the copyright with the model if it's a commission. After all if a vtuber gets big they'll want to make merch, and that won't be possible if they're not the copyright holder.
@@HyattHyatt3179 if you want to make merch, unless otherwise disclosed by the artist, you must pay an upfront (or sometimes, later) commercial fee which is fully set by the artist's own TOS. However, straight up selling the character/model is not the same thing as rights to make merch. I'm not sure the legality, but this is just ethically.

I feel so bad for amby and those other artists… art takes time, and making others feel terrible is very rude, and honestly, my anger issues could never handle this. amby sounds like an amazing person, and all those other artists who were put through so much. T_T. I hope others can heal well.
I could see the argument being made that the VTuber model is worth more now because it was used, but it would have to be a very famous model from a very famous person, and even then I think it would be in the V tubers best interest to firstly promote the artist that did it and make an agreement with the artist beforehand saying that they would split the revenue by a certain percentage.
Wouldn't it be worth less since it will always be connected to another vtuber who has already used it. Skinwalking isn't really seen as a good thing in vtubing either
@@HyattHyatt3179 I guess that’s fair, I was looking at it more as a collectible, like Luke’s lightsaber or a movie prop, or I guess in this case it’d be closer to an NFT since it’s a digital asset. I guess if you wanted to actually use it the value would drop significantly. Edit: I don't support NFTs, just used the comparison because you would hope a digital asset would be one of a kind. Like, Iron Mouse's first model wouldn't be worth squat if you could download it for free, it'd only be really valuable if Iron Mouse sent over the files and deleted them all off of her end.
@@SecondBestArtMuseum While Maowzie does seem to collect models and switch a lot, most vtubers stick to one or maybe 2 if they rebrand. (Not counting new outfits or themes for the same character). So I don't really think owning a used model would have much value unless you planned to using it yourself, or if you bought the copyright and wanted to make merch for a graduated vtuber. And like you said, using a model that's already heavily linked to someone else wouldn't really make it more valuable. If anything you'd risk a lot of backlash and misunderstandings if it's a big vtuber's former model. If it's a smaller vtuber it'll probably be as if nothing had happened, but at that point you could just get your own.
Thank you for standing up up for artists. I made my own because another one from someone else wasn't in my budget. I respect others work and I get sad when others don't respect my work

I remember following this person, but now I block them them since the call out from 2023 because I was scared that she would commission me and be very nasty like this towards me (that have a very bad mental condition but work with it) Also yeah, I hope to never find them again omg
There's literally no reason to move discord accounts unless you're avoiding something/someone lol. Even if you are rebranding, you can just change your username and profile on discord??? Artists deserve so much more respect and you really gotta watch out for yourself out here between scammers/resellers/just generally disrespectful people! ):
Expecting an artist to price match/lower their price just because another artist charges less shows you don’t understand why artist’s price things the way they do. Even if you put aside the fact that more experienced artists usually have a better idea of what is a sustainable rate for themselves, depending on where you live the exact same amount of money that would pay like a months rent in one country, would only get you a few days worth of groceries in another
I'm listening to this while drawing, and had to comment: THE AUDACITY OF THIS B(^&& I WOULD START SWINGING. I already hate it when my job breathes down my neck over sales, I'd be DAMNED if someone weaponized their mental health to basically helicopter me
Ive been a commissioner for a long time since I was 18 years old back when I was commissioning artist for art of OC's, never in my entire time of buying commissions did I even consider asking an artist to lower their price for me. Not once. The price was always the price and if I couldnt afford it id find another lovely artist within my price range. I feel the same way about vtubing as I am a vtuber and still commissioning. A very kind rigger once offered me their old prices once for a rebrand I had planned to do, an offer I wasnt able to take them up on then due to money issues in my life. However their prices have went up alot since then (and they deserve it, the rigging is amazing) and I would never even consider asking for that old price again. If I want them ill save up for their new price. This person using this manipulative language and making artist undersell themselves and playing on their fears are an awful person. Awful. They deserved none of this art. They give Vtuber commissioners a bad name. Espically when they GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT and you TRY TO LOWER IT MORE. Gross, Gross, Gross.
23:10 Okay, I don't know if you remember this person, but that raccoon design was talked about in another stream (I don't remember if it's yours or someone else, but it was about a model design critique). The fact that I recognize that design and she was on stream as well for that scares me now, knowing what kind of person she was. If I can find the stream that she was featured in, I can dig back if I could. Unfortunately I know Twitch won't have streams up for long.
in a legit situation, i think it's okay to charge more for a model/chara if there's accompanying art with it bc i can see how a seller would want some compensation for all the commissioned art they got with it bc they wouldn't have much use for model/chara art if they sell the model/chara. however... LOL we'll see where this is going. LOL idk what rigger 'mao' was gonna get to do a rig and toggles for 300 unless it was very small, chibi models. also artists, this is a lesson to stand by ur TOS esp when someone's being so difficult about a price. not saying amby's in the wrong here or anything, i honestly feel bad for them having to deal with someone trying to haggle their prices so much but if they refuse to settle on even one or two agreements, just redirect them back to TOS and price points and say this is what i can do and if that doesn't work for u, ur gonna have to go elsewhere cos this is ridiculous how much this person harassed someone for free/discounted shit. wtf is the anxiety and 'hyper fixation' on SOMEONE ELSE working on their model? like dude... stop using mental disability terms to excuse being an asshole to artists? amby's so in their right for adjusting their TOS to reflect this experience cos unfortunately, bad actors make people make stricter rules/TOS for the artists to avoid bullshit like this again. i hope amby and any other artists that had the misfortune or working with this person are alright. that situation was ridiculous and amby was far too kind for even just trying to help someone out. don't let people push u far past ur boundaries esp when they're just a client. yea no that person was scummy as shit. having so many vtuber 'sonas' i have no doubt they're an OC/adopt collector and i've never been hugely in that scene but sounds like they learned some kinda grifting technique from that, buying OCs cheap or begging people to lower prices and just applied it to scamming Vtubers bc vtubing models is big bucks. hope if they try to come back people recognize and keep calling them out to avoid other people getting harassed and scammed like this.
Yeah, I was still fairly new to making models at the time as I only had one client I worked with to make models for. I had no idea what I was signing up for and when I looked back I realized all the red flags and stress I could’ve avoided early on. My TOS at the time wasn’t as strict and she found every loophole possible. It’s something I’ve learned so much from and it really upsets me that artists had similar experiences.
I tried to buy a Maowzie model, I offered to pay in full and even give her a full body rig for free- offer was not good enough for her and she blocked me :'3
And here's me, when I think an artist is underselling themselves, I add on a little more if I have the option to. I think you had a very good point: vtubing relies on artists and riggers. If you can't create and rig your own model, you have to hire someone to do it for you. Those people deserve respect and appropriate pay, as they will likely see very little to none of the money you make as a streamer.
I also sell characters sometimes and in my own opinion it’s not ok to sell the character I sold you for a higher price than what you paid unless you have extra artworks of said character
I know my sister tried to buy an oc for 200$ off her, but as soon as she got back to my sister- she RAISED the price to 500$ even though the character's artwork and personal artwork did not add up to that price. :( Sucks because my sister still is trying to get the character off of her.
From what I can tell they are or were totally part of the oc trading community. I see it a lot there that people just trade around ocs even with mutliple alts to inflate the price of an oc to sell them for more than they are worth. Extremely prevelant with well known artist designs. It is really sad to see, like at least add value to the oc before selling it again...
These kind of people are the same people who want everyone to accommodate them, but when you ask them to do something to accommodate you, they throw a tantrum.
I'm always surprised. I got my model done, and I always told them they can take their time if needed. I always say I know you have a life outside of this, just let me know/keep me updated on what's going on. No wonder they thought I was so odd 😂
When i started small commissions, someone commissioned me 2 full bodies, and i was offering them for dirt cheap prices, and they asked for the price to be lowered, i had a cheaper art option but they wanted that specific art style so much. I made them save up the money, but them they made an excuse that they “accidentally spent the money somewhere else” i wanted to cancel the commission but i didnt want my first customer to think bad of me so i waited and waited. After they payed me, i did the sketch and sent them it. They said ok. I went to the line art, they said i needed to change things. And they would ping me every 20 minutes asking for updates. Thinking i was indoors drawing all day, i told them im not working on it and im outside, 10 minutes later, “progress?” This person commissioned me 6 more times after that. I even did a last minute banner art for them DIRT CHEAP and they were like “aww man, sorry to say, but the canvas isnt the size i wanted..” they literally nitpicked things like “it needs to be like this persons style” “needs to be this big!” “I dont like the pose” “change the pose to the previous one” “even if you’re uncomfortable, could you please do it for me?” This is basically what would go on. They got mad at me for miscommunication when they were the one mostly talking. They spoke like a toddler and didn’t know basic grammar. In the end they would be like “oh… i like it. Thanks.” And a minute later, “HEY THERE! IM HERE TO MAKE YOU RICH AGAIN!” And they got mad for me changed my prices higher. Im still very mad to this person. I tried being nice and all and they just didnt like it i guess.

As someone who was involved in the whole Maowzie mess, thank you so much for getting the word out there more !! Also, most of her characters/models are owned by other people now (luckily), so if you see them out in the wild, it’s probably someone else with how quick she flips them ! 🖤
This is the vtuber i reached out to about her design a year ago (the leopard one). My friends messaged me saying it looked very close to mine during the making so I reached out to her privately in x's dm's to talk about it... and she blocked me lol. Told me I was a nobody and no one was 'referencing' my design. I wrote on X about not wanting people to copy my design or look, maybe to just commission my art papa who made my look instead!! but deleted the post since I felt like it came off as a mean post and I thought maybe it was a coincidence and hoped the best for them... but then next day.. her ex boyfriend calls her out for copying peoples designs, being abusive, and reselling other peoples artwork without their permission. It's a year later and she is still doing this??? Crazy... Hope for the best still 🙏
as an artist that is jumping through hoops just to make one model from scratch what this person is doing is disgusting and I hope that karma takes over
That vtuber is so messed up. Gaslighting artist who are being so nice disgust me so much. Their time is so valuable and they also need to take breaks to rest up. I have an artist who is so sweet and we were mods for a streamer. I couldn't pay right away due to financial reason. She gave me my emotes and told me to pay her when I can. I think I paid her two weeks later, even tipped for waiting so long. She was shocked by the tip because no one has done that before to her.

hearing commission horror stories always solidify my resolve to never do commissions. lol. I used to be in the army so now I kinda hate being told what to do. not in the toddler, anti-authority way, but even when I say I'm open to character referrals, when someone tries to say anything more than that, like immediately dictating the pose, theme, blah blah blah, like it's a commission I'll never do that character. i did a free fan art for someone that was gonna debut their v tuber and whenever I showed them an update they kept critiquing it and asking for changes. it pissed me off so much I'll never do it again.
i am on the way of trying to open vtuber model comms but honestly these kinds of ppl are ones that makes me scared if i underprice myself they will take advantage of that (somehow) i feel bad for the artist, that level of gaslighting is insane
For Vtuber model resale... I would expect prices to *DECREASE* and *not* increase. Sorta like how a car's value goes down immediately after someone buys it and drives off the lot. Because it is now "used." There is now something attached to the model because it has been used once. So unless someone basically built up an entire platform and got famous and whatnot with the model, then basically decided to sell their entire empire...? That sort of stuff is going to decrease in price pretty steeply. Practically nobody wants to have a used model for Vtubing activities, because you have no idea what sort of stigma is attached to that particular model Sorry, a better analogy would be clothing. If any old person bought the clothing and wore it and washed it, the value has decreased. Generally speaking anyway. This would be like the hated thrift shop which goes around and artificially inflates all of the used good prices, not because the product is actually good and worth more nowadays, but because the trend of shopping at thrift stores is there and they can potentially cash out. Only time the price of the clothing goes up naturally is if it was worn by a famous person who became known for wearing that specific piece

Dear artists! If the customer says "I know artists who will do it for less" in response to your refusal of a discount on the order, answer "I know customers who will pay more for it"
But some people can't afford things like that... Do you need to say that to people, why do you feel the need to say this?
@thetornadocrusader968 I'm sorry but I really can't understand your reply. Can you explain what you are trying to say, just because I feel that your reply doesn't relate at all to the original comment.
Edit: I can understand that some people can't afford what an artist is offering as the price, but that person does not need to say "I know artists who will do it for less" because if that's the case then why don't they ask that 'artist' then. This phrase is usually just a tactic to make artists to lower their price. If the price is out of the customers budget then they should be honest and maybe try to make some adjustments.

can i get a vtuber model and rigging? no discounts needed lol
in my experience doing comms most people aren't like this. just make things clear in your tos and don't budge on prices and tos stuff and you will most likely be fine. also take at least 50% payment up front.
i do understand if you still wouldn't want to open comms because there are unfortunately a small amount of people like this out there.
Please know, not everyone is like this! Exactly, if anything it just makes other artist not want to work with you? Like use common sense..
I understand her pattern, she buys extremely pretty models for low prices, haggles for said lower price, uses model, then SELLS them to basically do it all over again
1. Buy cheap model
2.use model for a week
3. Sell model
4. Use the money she made from selling that model to buy EVEN MORE cheaper stuff
5. Its a cycle
Dude you have no idea how bad it truly is. The saga is A BOOK SERIES. I bought that angler fish model from mao and it was a nightmare experience that involved threats and anxiety and much much regret so much that I ended up selling the model because of the whole experience

@Samkainsta That's not the scam part. The scam is when she charges back people.
🤔 I'm genuinely curious
What exactly makes it "getting over on" them?
They charged what they believed their work was worth, and where PAID for that work.
Why would anyone genuinely be angry? Artists aren't mad when a model sits in a folder collecting dust once a vtuber rebrands
But the idea that someone was able to resell/upcharge a model that is ready to use the day of purchase is wrong?
I'm pretty confused why that would make anyone mad. Aside the fact of like
"damn the world I could have make x amount more!!!"
The person who was commissioned doesn't own the model or design, right?
Maybe they realize, "Well, are there other lemonade stands which I can use to make a bit of extra money off of."
They could do something positive in that situation, maybe go back to the stand and say "hey did you know that many people would be willing to pay a dollar for your lemonade?"
Or, they could do the greedy thing and return to buy up all of the lemonade and then go profit off of someone else's time and labor.
"Well, I got the last painting for $40, why is this one now $100?"
Those who have resources can always use those resources to generate more resources.
'' If you can afford a 800$ VTuber model, you don't get one '' or simply Learn to make one ?! Like, it's not hard.

If anyone threatens their own life against you for anything. RUN, they will be fine without you just RUN.

Brother, the gaslighting followed by the $300 discount request had my jaw on the floor. The audacity is astronomical.

Awful.
It's extremely worst on Twitter, ask for anyone for vtuber artist on Twitter, but soooo9ooooo9 much drama
alternative title : kat roasting a vtber client scammer for 26 minutes 🔥🔥🔥
:( Sucks because my sister still is trying to get the character off of her.
trying to sweeten her "requests" by adding "TwT, :0, ;-;" or "It's okay if you don't want to" makes it worse- the gaslighting is strong in this one.
I just realized! one of the models they sold 24:59 is a model i drew in a style
the new owner is really kind too
When i started small commissions, someone commissioned me 2 full bodies, and i was offering them for dirt cheap prices, and they asked for the price to be lowered, i had a cheaper art option but they wanted that specific art style so much. Thinking i was indoors drawing all day, i told them im not working on it and im outside, 10 minutes later, “progress?”
This person commissioned me 6 more times after that.
IM HERE TO MAKE YOU RICH AGAIN!”
And they got mad for me changed my prices higher. Im still very mad to this person. I tried being nice and all and they just didnt like it i guess.
I didnt know i typed so much 😅
I just realized that I watched most of your videos 😭 it’s soooo good ^_^
What a disgustingly underhanded person it's people like that you have to watch out for. always be wary of people who take advantage of your good nature.
Bruh that whole relationship thing reminded me of being in my teens and having a crazy online gf at the time. She threatened to kill herself overdose and had trouble with her dad but it was allllll a lie.
NEVER BELIEVE PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET, even if you think you know them, even if you met them once, just have your guard up please.
It went from a scamming expose to a love drama lol
As someone who was involved in the whole Maowzie mess, thank you so much for getting the word out there more !! Also, most of her characters/models are owned by other people now (luckily), so if you see them out in the wild, it’s probably someone else with how quick she flips them ! 🖤
Reminds me of the old "Short Change Scam".
Crazy... Hope for the best still 🙏
as an artist that is jumping through hoops just to make one model from scratch what this person is doing is disgusting and I hope that karma takes over
The thumbnail made me so anxious lol! I thought something happened with 6th_icecream/ saga66 bc they are my dream model artist
Only time I've been rude to artists is when they come into my dms without me dming them first. And those are mostly scammers.
Artists need more respect, they deserve it from all the hard work they put into their crafts. But not scammers, they don't deserve respect.
yay Kat always fixes my boredom, shame about the situation though
Yeah, it’s shameful, :/
That vtuber is so messed up. Gaslighting artist who are being so nice disgust me so much. Their time is so valuable and they also need to take breaks to rest up.
I have an artist who is so sweet and we were mods for a streamer. I couldn't pay right away due to financial reason. She gave me my emotes and told me to pay her when I can. I think I paid her two weeks later, even tipped for waiting so long. She was shocked by the tip because no one has done that before to her.
Literally a scammer.
The number of models she commissioned in such a short amount of time is actually INSANE.
There's now Vtuber model grifters??? Some people have no shame. Truly jobless behavior.
"If you can't afford a VTuber model, then you can't afford a VTuber model." -- katliente, 2024
Crazy some people actually need it spelled out for them. Or as the kids are saying, "it's wild." 🫠
People like that are CRAZY, if you sell a whole character with like pieces of art and stuff i get it that the character itself would cost more, but like that? nuh uh
vtuber scam artists keeps getting me on twitter for vtube models or twitch artists things like profile pic banner alerts and lots more i keep ignore it for a while but it keeps coming back to me
hearing commission horror stories always solidify my resolve to never do commissions.
Sadge thing is that she has done this with so many artist to this Day
i am on the way of trying to open vtuber model comms but honestly these kinds of ppl are ones that makes me scared if i underprice myself they will take advantage of that (somehow)
i feel bad for the artist, that level of gaslighting is insane
She is denying anything ever happened on their twitter as well and back tracking by deleting everything .
All these models feel like an allegory for reincarnating a lot from doing bad deeds.
mood. much love to the artists, i hope they have better opportunities to make models for great people.
Practically nobody wants to have a used model for Vtubing activities, because you have no idea what sort of stigma is attached to that particular model
Sorry, a better analogy would be clothing. Only time the price of the clothing goes up naturally is if it was worn by a famous person who became known for wearing that specific piece
insane story, could make a great internet horror story, truly an IRL skinwalker
