  • I go in search of a waterfall! Sailing 20 miles over to the Island of Batanta I then spend the day searching up and down rivers and mangroves swamps meeting locals along the way. I didn't find the waterfall but had a great day none the less. Next day I sailed over to Sorong in order to fill my australian gas bottles. Anchored there I witnessed an amazing sunset and met some cool local Doom islanders.

"Life's too good to be feeling miserable, if you can help it in any way" That's fantastic - going to remember that one! Thanks for feeding my wanderlust with your videos. Great work!

Cheers great video . One of my best experiences was sailing into a Solomons village to pickup some rotariens after a cyclone had devasted their village . They were rebuilding the infrastructure. The locales mainly children paddled out in their canoes and came onboard they had never heard a stereo . A great day thanks for the memory

Vernon, I know cruisers who would hoist their dinghy out of the water, alongside at night, for security. In the morning, the engine would be gone. It is at a very convenient height to row up, cut the lock, and ease it into their own boat. In one case, the owner was sleeping in the bunk right next to the dinghy! It would be nice to have a crane at the stern to hoist the engine onto the stern rail and lock it there. But if you made it through Sorong without losing anything...good on you! We lost nothing in Sorong but I saw the jerks milling slowly by drooling over our 2 outboards on the stern rail of out boat. I left the cockpit light on and had alarms set.

This is quickly turning to be my favorite sailing channel. Sean Penn does a really good job at showing an honest representation of the daily life of a solo sailor.

What I like the most about your videos is that you don´t strike me like a selfish narcisistic individual like some (most) youtubers. l feel that you do these films to either remember the experiences in the future (my motivation) to share them with your family and friends and to inspire others, so there is a lot of the places and sailing that you do and just enough of you to tell the story. Good, balanced and mature content right here, congrats for it and looking forward to the next one whilst I sit inside this four walls waiting for my time to get out there and have my own

Thank you Charles for the thoughtful comment. You're pretty much spot-on, I make the videos so my family and keep up with where I am, to have a personal memory(never was good at writing a diary) and mostly because I really love filming and creating. It gives a reason to be curious about the people and places I'm visiting. Enjoy the upcoming videos, I'm pretty happy with the next 3 and look forward to your comments.

Love the smile on your face and the excitement in your talk since you got back to the boat after the winter. Cool approach to dingy “rail meat”. Been bing watching while riding my indoor bike for the winter break. Almost caught up. Cheers!

I’ve subscribed to many channels, yours tops them all mate. I love the down to earth “this is what it is” type of videos you do and no over the top pushing the Patreon thing. Well done mate, great vids, great guy.

I love what you're doing mate. I watch with interest. I'd put your channel up there with the best. Especially with you doing all the camera work etc yourself. Well done, keep it up mate. Andy, Plymouth UK

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. It's great. From the very little I've done so far I see how difficult and confusing it can be, especially at first. It's looking pretty professional to be honest, and above all,- real and not over-produced/polished. I like that
