You have the patience of a saint. I wanted to shake some sense into the owner when she was talking about her dog biting a 2 year old child. If you're dog is not well behaved you do not allow them near a child. Period. Then when she was worried about what Cesar had done to her dog because his tail was tucked, I would have wanted to do more than shake her. So glad Cesar had the patience to show her how to be a more responsible dog owner and both her and her pup both win.
It's the women dog owners. They can't control their animals. The fact that it took a neighbor to get Cesar involved is indicative of her complete cluelessness.
Now come on, most dog owners, myself included, are really trying our best. We do want what is best for our dog but we need help. That's why I am religiously watching every episode. It's hard to believe sometimes that it's always the owner. I have never seen another trainer use dog psychology like Cesar does but it makes perfect sense.
Ive actually been using some of Ceasars techniques on my overly/aggressively affectionate cat and it's worked! Just creating boundaries and remembering he's an animal and talking to him won't work. I try to imagine what another cat would do to say "I need space sometimes" and now he gets it. Cesar definitely understands animals. It's amazing.
A retractable leash is good if you're like me and have an energetic breed (mal/gsd) and a small yard. There's a park right outside the house and I use the retractable there with her -- it allows her to run and jump and do her parkour while I have a modicum of control, and then when I use a regular leash she knows it's time for a "nice" walk.

It's interesting that when a dog is misbehaving, some owners just shout the dog's name repeatedly. I wonder why they do this as it obviously has no effect.
My parents are those owners, shouting repetitively, never training the dog, and they always tell people they ended up with bad dogs when they have great, very smart dogs- they are just bad dog owners. The two I’m speaking of are larger dogs, very active when they aren’t active at all, and they behave way better with one of us adult kids and grandkids than when around them. Night and Day and the adult kids and grandkids never have to yell or keep asking for what we want from them. They just get loud, and make the situation ten times worse.
I'm sitting here thinking about how a dog perceives a skateboard. Humans know that it has revolving wheels which grind over the concrete and make a loud, grating noise. A dog probably feels that a strange male is approaching fast and is emitting a mean, roaring noise (sounds like a lion). With its keen hearing, it probably seems louder and more grating to the dog than it does to us. Also keep in mind that the wheels are very close to the dogs ears. Worse, the strange male is headed right toward its beloved owner, whom it has to protect. In this video, when Cesar picks up the skateboard and carries it, Caper learns that it's not an attacker of some kind, it's just another inanimate thing.
My dog HATES skateboards, steps and skeelers. Bikes are fine, but this she just doesn't understand. The reaction is exactly the same as dogs running next to a bike. They are entering her 'bubble' unnaturally quickly, and it is threatening to her

Cesar, I wish you would travel the country teaching people who don't have dogs how to behave when they see other people's dogs in public. Maybe don't run up to strange dogs and try to touch them without the owners' permission, and don't stare at them right in the eye and make high pitched voices, etc.
