Wow this was my first Metallica show in 91 at the Forum with no opening act about 2 and half hours of Metallica it was awesome also still have my program too also loved that they put in negative comments about Metallica and their music ... Crazy ...lol
That tour was MONUMENTAL, it all started in August 1991 and ended up in July 1993.
I had the chance to catch Metallica for the first time ever in June 1993 here in Italy, I was 16, they completely crushed and I still have goosebumps to this day.
They were on fire, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies and The Cult were the major support acts and they added Extrema a big successful thrash italian band as opening act.
The black album is a colossal album especially the obscure/b-side songs that they don't usually play live.
So pumped for the Chimaira comeback!!!

Yeah, Megadeth was on the touring cycle for Countdown To Extinction, to see both bands together was EPIC, also ST delivered a killer set and they had The Art Of Rebellion and Still Cyco After All These Years to promote.

I really like the camera shot with you in the corner with your amp behind you and the reading lamp. It’s a very cozy vibe, like your go-to spot for reading a book. It reminds me of when I sat down at my desk, surrounded by my gear, to read James’ new guitar chronicle, “Messengers.” BTW I’d like to see you go through that one!! Maybe Kirk will make a book like that someday 🤔

I still have mine as well as a few others from the shows I went to
My home town is on that tour. Charleston, WV
The only time I saw Metallica was on that tour, it was Midland Odessa Texas if it's in that book. Definitely rates up there at one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
As someone from a neighbouring town, i'd expect nothing better from a resident of Bolton than that last review!

I know for some reason this album wasn't everyone's favourite at the time. After justice being so heavy. But when you look back at it Slayer did the same with South of heaven. When James sung stone cold crazy with Queen. It was the year that Freddie mercury died and they put on a tribute concert. Where Metallica sung three songs and then James came on to sing stone cold crazy after.
That's right! That would have been a great tribute concert to attend!

I was also somewhat let down by the Black Album, especially after the monumental and breathtaking Justice album. While there were some good tracks on the Black Album, it sort of set the tone for what was to come with the Load and Reload albums.. Have you ever thought about getting an Explorer-shaped guitar, like James Hetfield's Snakebyte or a schecter e1?

Long story short, the Peavey thing just kind of fell into our laps one day, and we never looked back! Mesa cabs however, were always a staple of Chimaira's guitar tone!

The venue, civic centre, was a big concert place on Bank st. It is now TD place and home of the Redblacks, their CFL team.
Never understood the mentality of "Oh you made an album and it didn't have the music I personally wanted to hear, and you made money from the album so you suck" so so entitled

I've never heard of any of the writers, but I know who Metallica is. I always find it funny when "no one" runs their mouth or how Nikki Sixx who couldn't keep a needle out of his arm long enough to remember his career runs his mouth. Jealousy is an ugly color.
