I want to make this blanket as a Christmas present for this year. I've been very nervous about trying to make it encase I don't understand the written instructions. I can't explain how happy I am when I realised there are these videos which go so slowly and explain everything so well !
Watching this. I've finally got the confidence to make this blanket !!!
Thank you so much !
Videos like these really help visual learners.
I cannot believe this actually seems do-able! You’re an excellent teacher.
Such a great tutorial. I've been crocheting for over 50 years (US terms) and I loved your slow, gentle, thorough explanation. Thank you so much.
Left handed- I wondered how to do this left handed
I listened to the commentary rather than watching and it was so easy
Thank you
Anita, thank you for your wonderful videos. They are clear and concise. I started the blanket about a month ago and am about to start the Father Christmas hats. I would have never have thought in a million years that I could tackle a project like this. But, thanks to your outstanding videos, my project is awesome. Oh, I’m going to be making two of these. They will be presents for my twin great nephews. Thank you, thank you for sharing this!
i’m having so much fun making this blanket! i’m a beginner and so far it’s going great because you explain really well! thank you for sharing this calendar. can’t wait for the remaining weeks 🤍❄️
Thank you Anita for such clear audio and visual instructions. You really demystified the process for me. I'm still waiting for my yarn but so itchy to start I'm going to start a small sampler with leftovers from another project asap!!
Tip: get 15 bobby pins, chain 10 then pop a bobby pin into that stitch. Then repeat. When you run out of bobby pins, you should have 150 stitches. I've had to frog so many times until I found this tip. It's not my original but I can't remember where I saw it, sorry.
I use a similar method. I put a stitch marker every 30 stitches so I can see where the pattern repeats. I lose count any higher than about 35 😂
Yes!! I have those and found that they work perfectly. I was having a hard time finding the cute little ones that they use with crochet and gave it some thought what to work instead, lol.
Great idea! Thank you💜💜💜
Mind blown, why haven’t I done this !!
I’m glad it’s not just me that forgets how to count at 40 years old you’d think I’d have that aced by now 😂😂😂
Very clear, easy to follow video (even for a lefty!). Written pattern also takes you step-by-step through each row.
Searched for Christmas blanket patterns and yours was the first to pop up here in Hershey, PA! This is BEAUTIFUL! Then I went to your website, and the Pumpkin Square... oh my gosh!! Amazing!
I’m having the same realization about this amazing Lady right now❤ ha and I live a short drive from Hershey. Some of my best childhood memories in your town❤
Can’t believe this amazing pattern is free! It’s perfect ❤
You are an amazing teacher. Within minutes i bought the pattern and cant wsit to buy yarn and get started. Thank you.
I just seen the picture and clicked on it that is the most pretty color combination I've ever seen and I love gingerbread man
Very user-friendly. Nice and slow. Can see every step of the way very clear and precise. Not afraid to try this pattern with your instructions. THANK YOU!
Thank you for a fun tutorial, relaxed, easy to follow and most importantly enjoyable. Looking forward to part 2.
Thank you so much for your easy, no nonsense instructions. All finished and eagerly awaiting Part 2

You are working on the back?! I always thought the side facing you was the front so I’m glad I found this video! Thank you.
Such a wonderful blanket and your instuctions are so good. Can't wait to start this pattern sadly it will have to wait until the New Year , several of us are going to meet once a week and crochet away, finishing the piece in question before the next meeting, it will be a fun project I can't thank you enough for all of the work that you have put into this
Love it, fantastic x

Oh my Anita, I didn’t think I would be able to do this, but looking at your UA-cam, you’ve made it so understandable I’m now off to buy the yarn x x x
Yay!!! You'll be fine with this!
Making mine I’m at the ginger bread men I’m obsessed with it thanks so much for sharing ❤️ need to make one for every holiday ☺️
I’m struggling to keep the stitch count after the gingerbread men.
Desde Brasil. Lindo trabajo.lindo.
Thankyou so so much for sharing this beautiful Christmas blanket. I’ve only just stumbled across your channel, so a bit late for me to start. But, I *Do* plan on following all the tutorials, I want to make 2 for next Christmas (Im still quite new to crochet & not very fast), for my 2 grandsons. Thankyou xx

Great work 👏 👍 👌 💪
I love this! Might take me 3 Christmases to complete it though! XD
Amei
I am left handed get so confused with crafts so it better for me to watch video and do it with that
Hey thanks so much for the helpful videos! Can I double check how many stitches I should have at the end of the candy cane rows please? Thanks x
I can’t wait to get started on this blanket! Just a question though, the amount of yarn is given in grams, I’m using a bit heavier yarn is there any way to know how many yards of each colour I would need?
my yarn pack arrived Saturday I chose the Original Xmas colours and i did week one yesterday. Going to start week 2 this evening, I’m making it for my son but now my daughter wants one 🥴
Love this blanket but I’m having a hard time with first bobble stitch when I switch back to green. I may have to leave the bobbles off.
So beautiful, in which week will you post the last video?
Could you make a stocking? I want to make my daughter a special stocking, my great aunt made all of us kids massive stockings and I can't find a good pattern and this would make such an amazing stocking!
Please show how to weave in the bobble row
🥳🥳
This blanket is beautiful!...is the complete pattern available?.. thanks
Hi, love this pattern, thank you for sharing. I am having trouble with the first red row of the blanket as stitches dont add up. If i miss one stitch at the beginning then i have two left at the end and if i miss two stitches then i have one stitch left as per pattern but on the next row after at the end the stitches dont add up. Can you or someone explain please.
Hello, first of all thanks for this amazing gift. I would like make this blanket in a bigger size. Can I start with 302 stitches for a double of your size o I need more of them? Many thanks 😊
can you show me how you are holding the wool in your left hand please ? x
Can you help please. I’d like to make the blanket slighty smaller, is this possible? Could I just chain 102
Just started making this blanket and it's really nice, i was wondering if, i made this in aran yarn and a bigger hook, would it still turn out as good,
Yes just bigger, an I hook would be a smaller size than a K hook. Make a 4" swatch using each hook or hooks and see what you like
Thank you for the excellent video.I would like to make a smaller project.please may I know the stitch count to make a swatch to practice.
Thanks and regards
I asked a similar question and have not gotten a response yet. However, it is in multiples of 30. So I chained 32 for my sample and seemed to be working out.
Instead of chain 3 at the beginning of the chain since I don’t like the big gap it produces. Can I use a stacked DC if you understand what I mean. Will I still have to chain 150 chains
I’m just starting - it says on the pattern to go up half a hook size for the rows with colour changes. Do I do this on the bobble row? Thanks 😊
At the end of row 13 you go in as if doing a treble crochet, is this the case? Or should I do a half treble and change yarn?
The last stitch is an htr with a colour change in the last pull through.
I love doing with video nice slow easy to follow I am learning well done would love you to do some Christmas squares I learn by watching videos helps me I don’t have Facebook I just need to buy wool thankyou again I live in Australia instergram
Can I ask how many bobbles should be on row 5 please Anita, I appear to have 4 stitches after my last bobble 🤨 thank you in advance 🥰
Hello, I would like to make this afghan. It's gorgeous and you are a very good instructor. However, I cannot find the pattern on the page you linked and the yarn for the red version is out of stock.
What stitch count to make it one less section (snowflake & so on)?
Excuse for asking., but what size hook and wool are you using,
I’m still learning.
How many stitches are you using in your sample?
How do I order the kit? Tia
Is there a pattern I can print? Thanks!
When will the next episode come?
you are going to download the entire design of the blanket?
I have a question. How do I find the description box?
Clicked on link ordered the colours it said there, then when I clicked on pattern the colours were different 🤦♀️ gutted if it turns out not like this one 😢
Is there a written pattern for this afghan
I really love it. But… looks like a lot of stitch counting and bc I’m ocd- multiple stitch counting of the same row over and over! And over. I 😅 can’t 😢
What yarn would I use in us I have a bunch of yarn but I don't know what dk is
Worsted or sport would be fine for this. Just use the recommended hook size for your yarn and a half size bigger for the tapestry crochet sections.
@@anitagibney2972 thank you so it would be ok to use 4ply yarn that you use a 5.5 hook or should i use 5 hook
@@stephstone6733 Do you know the brand? I can check for you.
@@anitagibney2972 most of mine is red heart thank you
@@anitagibney2972 would red heart 4ply work for this
Hallo ik kan week twee niet vinden
Porque no ponen subtitulo en español
Could you please zoom in a bit more? Some of us don’t have the best vision.
Brilliant tutorial, and thank you for having short nails. I find long, over decorated nails so distracting.
I’m very late to the party but these videos make no sense! The pattern says you will have 9 loops on your hook when making bobbles!! What is going on? Should I follow the written pattern or the videos………..
I noticed this too??
I looked up another video on how to do the crochet bobble stitch.
It follows what is said on this video.
So the written instructions are incorrect.
There should be 6 loops on the hook not 9
Patterns don't help me because the words confuse me. It's like trying to do algebra or trigonometry in your head. I am very much "monkey see, monkey do".
