Joe Pesci saying "They f*** you at the drive-through! Okay? They f*** you at the drive-through!" will always be my favorite line from this movie. And any time it happens to me when going through a drive-through, you can bet that line runs through my head. 😆🤣 He's brilliant in this film. Even just his repetitive "ah-kay ah-kay" is so freaking memorable and funny, you never forget it.
My favorite part of the "But you're Black" scene is when Murtaugh then looks over at Leo who nods at him earnestly and says, "You are." Like Roger doesn't already know. LOL! "You are." 🤣😆 And the two of them laughing about it in the car afterward, telling Riggs about it, is extra funny.
Lethal Weapon should be viewed as a 4 chapter book. Each on progresses the story and character development. The story is not complete until the end of the 4th one.

I remember seeing this movie for the first time as a kid and afterwards my favorite thing was to smack my brother in the back of his head and run away screaming "diplomatic immunity!". Good times.
The storyline and cast was solid as hell. My favorite one liner "Nailed them both". Such a great film and thank you guys as always for a wonderful reaction.
These four movies, are some of the best to come out of the eighties. Consistent story quality, action packed, great comedy, and chemistry among the major and some minor characters.
If you two haven't seen "Mavrick" yet with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster, that is a great movie!!❤ Mel is cocky and funny. Plus there is a little cameo you might like as well. See you on the next one🍻
I love how movies always have these elaborate methods for disarming naked plastic explosives, instead of just pulling out the blasting cap. It's literally as simple as that. The exception is something they never do, which is contain the bomb within a casing rigged with a secondary device, or other anti-tampering mechanism.
All the Lethal Weapon movies are great, can't wait for your reviews of the other ones. If you want a fun "Noir" genre of movie with Mel Gibson, check out "Payback" from 1999. The tagline on the poster was "Get ready to root for the bad guy"
Interesting trivia: The Mythbusters tried to recreate two things from this movie: the C4 behind the toilet scene, and the surfboard death. C4: The liquid nitrogen would freeze the timer so well, they could have WALKED out of the bathroom and it would go off minutes later. But even if it had gone off a second later, the tub and blast blanket would have saved them, but they'd lose their hearing. Surfboard death: Wouldn't happen like it did in the film; the thing is too lightweight to do damage.
Supreme sequel. Big step up from LW1. More of the storylines and characters become connective down the road. Joe Pesci is without a doubt, one of the greatest versatile actors ever and as Leo Getz, this is his funniest role. Michael Kamen's score with Dave Sanborn on saxophone and rock legend Eric Clapton on guitar is still a great collab. These first 2 films do solidify an important arc of the franchise (Director's cuts exist). Riggs & Murtaugh with their bond as friends and cops is unquestionable as it is a lifelong team effort. Btw, in an alternate ending....... Rika (Patsy Kensit), Riggs' love interest actually lived.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia to this day, it boggles the mind. In one ending, Riggs & Rika are alive and together. In another ending, they both died. Keeping Riggs alive and killing off Rika worked better in early test screenings That's crazy.

The cop on the diving board is the actor who played the Irish mom in Titanic, Private Vasquez in Aliens, John Connor's foster mother in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and a bridge officer aboard the Enterprise-B in Star Trek Generations.
Something I like about the ending is that the cops really had a realistic opportunity to cut through the villain's "diplomatic immunity" BS. He was at long range and with no witnesses. He had also just fired at the cops. We can presume that even if the "diplomatic immunity" thing comes up later, Cop Glover could simply deny seeing what the guy was holding and fired when he reached for it, especially after having already been shot at. Game over. Only problem is the questionable accuracy of a pistol at long range, but whatever. Call it a lucky shot.
LOL! This movie was a pleasant surprise! And I am not complaining. It's another absolute favorite from a series I adore, and I am so happy that you guys got to it. Mel Gibson knocks this one out of the part with his portrayal of Riggs, and of course the character Leo is someone you never get tired of. Ditto for good ol' Roger. This movie went through some severe rewrites during production, and you can really tell in some spots. It was originally going to be a definitive end to the story with Riggs dying of his injuries, followed by a final scene of Murtaugh still mourning him months later. After deciding to have him live, they didn't have time to shoot any kind of new ending, which is why the film cuts off so abruptly. Also, they figured if Riggs was going to stick around in however many more films were made, he should be kept the same way he was when the fans got attached to him, which meant killing off his new love interest. And that rewrite had to be very quickly done, resulting in Riggs and Rika inexplicably becoming complete idiots who see absolutely no problem in Rika just going back to the place the bad guys know she lives, after they know she's turned against them, without any kind of protection.
Mythbusters did a thing on the toilet bomb on one of their episodes. Not only would Riggs and EOD delay the bomb with the nitrogen, but they would have had time to get up, stretch and make a sandwich before it exploded
