What does “as close to a one to one resistance as your gonna get” mean?
I’m no engineer but I thought with pulleys it’s either a one to one, or it isn’t. 🤷🏻♂️
They may be speaking about the resistance added by friction of the wheels and cables ? Idk
I’ll see if I can get Steve to come on here and answer your question. Stay tuned Rory!
That sounds plausible but I will ask them just to be sure.
Here's Steve's response to your question:
"Cable resistance machines can vary on their resistance ratios based off distance of cable travel, the amount of pulleys involved, and any additional friction put on the pulleys from cable routing."
Awesome! I haven’t even had a chance to reach out to Steve yet! Thank you for jumping on and responding!
I really liked the bench that attaches to the cable system for leg extensions and leg curls
I liked to but it has some things that bugged me. It’s frustrating because they are so close
I think that’s a solid idea. I’ve seen it online but I didn’t get a chance to check it out there.
@@GarageGymLifeMedia the adjustments were a not easy to use
Ok
@Porterphysed ok. One of the most important things to me is that equipment be fun to use. Equipment can’t be an obstacle to a good training session or you’ll start to avoid your workout. Again, I don’t feel comfortable commenting on the equipment because I didn’t get to see it, but that’s just my viewpoint about any piece of equipment from any brand in general.
just bought mine! stoked! the value can't be beat!
Nice! Swing back by and let me know how you like it once you’ve set it up!
@@GarageGymLifeMedia will do!
@derp6632 my man!
That rower attachment is awesome!
I have the rower I love it
I would definitely check it out if I didn’t have two rowers already!
@@GarageGymLifeMedia I think this paired with a fly wheel could be really good
@@Porterphysed possibly. I didn't see the bench so I can't really comment too much on it (too busy) but the idea sounds great.
I still have the Body Solid GPR378.
Their stuff just lasts and lasts!
Nice!! How long have you had it for?
@@BodySolidFit I've had it since about 2005....still works great!
Good question!
Nice!
I LOVE Body Solid! If I needed a new power rack, it would be a GPR400...but I don't, because my old rack is a 1999-vintage BS rack, with pop pin safeties and J cups no less. Thing is a tank. But it's tempting bc of the monolift and other attachments that BS did not have previously.
Their racks last forever!
@@GarageGymLifeMedia If I had the room in my garage gym, I'd get the GPR400 and keep my old BS rack as a backup.
@@ronhoover5516 I only have one rack at a time and I'd probably still be that way even if I had more room. If I had an older rack like you and had the room, I'd just grab a functional trainer from Body -Solid or somewhere else to get that the cable functionality. If I'm buying a brand new rack, then I'd try to include the functional trainer attachment on the rack.
When we say Built for Life, we MEAN it, baby! Thanks so much for being a Body-Solid customer and we're really glad to hear your 1999 rack is still holding up well! If you ever have any questions or issues with it, don't hesitate to reach out.
@@GarageGymLifeMedia Great call...looking at them now. TY
