  • George Burarrwanga, Warumpi Band, and others at the closing stages of the "Festival of Aboriginal Rock Music" in Darwin in September 1988, the first ever indigenous festival of this kind.

    I recall playing alongside Warumpi Band and the many other deadly bands that night at Sing Loud Play Strong. What a gig that was..... so much deadly talent on that stage it's something that will never be forgotten. Also had the pleasure of touring with Warumpi to the South Pacific Arts Festival in Tahiti after performing at the Sydney Opera House. They never quite got the recognition in Australian music that they deserved along with Us Mob and No Fixed Address, all trailblazers that we can be proud of.

      I was just a kid when I attended my first corroboree. wish I was older cuz id remember more. Larrakia country is still very special to me 2.

    George was an amazing man, I wish the rest of the Australian population had his views. Apologies if I'm using his name out of turn, I know that many native people don't speak of the departed by name
