    I live about 12 miles North of this place. It was a gigantic furniture outlet at one time. Bars, stools, dining room sets, bedroom sets, living room, lamps, kitchen sets, coffee and end tables galore. Fact is my recreation room Natuzzi leather sofa, loveseat, recliner came from here. Great looking cars, thanks for the look at the stickers/prices.

    I remember when this was the Manufactures Outlet Mall back in the eighties. We parked our campers here after racing at Maple Grove Raceway bracket finals. We gathered inside during the evenings and used a practice tree to see who had the best reaction times. The place was packed. Good change from retail to classic cars. I remember back then this was a pretty remote area. Best of luck.

    As always, buyers beware. If you go to a place like this, remember - have the vehicle up on a hoist. Look at the floor boards and the trunk deck. Look under the doors. Carry a tape covered magnet 🧲. Run it along the entire body. Make sure that you're not gonna buy a bondo baby.
    Lots of classic car stores like to concentrate on eye 👁 glitter by way of sheet metal shine. Pull back the interior carpeting. Look for floor metal patches welded over rusted floor panels. Go over with a fine magnifying 🔎 glass. It's your hard earned money 💰, unless you're a drug dealer with unlimited income, or you won the lottery and don't care that you're buying a sheet metal cosmetic shiney toy.
    These "restored" beauties are expensive. Make your money count, and not automatically into the sellers' Swiss bank accounts.

    • @Driven2Compete
      @Driven2Compete  Рік тому +5

      It's a consignment dealership, the owner of the car sets the price, prices are negotiable, some cars are fully restored and nearly perfect while others aren't. The sell an average of 90 vehicles a month and they inspect every consignment so they can tell you the things you brought up. I do agree with you that you do have to know what you're buying. Thanks for commenting.

    • @rickprusak9326
      @rickprusak9326 Рік тому +4

      @Driven2Compete my comment was not to single out this particular classic vehicle dealer, but there are vehicle flip shows on TV and for as an example, Boyd Coddington had a few great metal finishers, but as shown on many of their videos, there was gallons of bondo being used on each of their "restorations" and "special vehicle" projects. A classic car consumer like me knows that there are many shortcuts into making a barn find or junkyard special look like they came out of the assembly line next week. Some people don't care about a classic car being just eye candy. They just want to drive their dream car one more time before they die. I value a vehicle selling lot owner or employee being up front and honest in informing the potential buyers that what you see is what you see. It's very important for everyone to take extra steps to be very
      educated and informed on what to look for in a dream car. Many people save up for what seems like lifetime to buy before they die. Buying a piece of automotive history is an investment, not a simple day at the used car lot and buying a regular driver.
      I really enjoy your videos of what vehicles you have available. You really make some automobile dreams come true.

      ...when I was growing up one trick to 'quieten' an engine was to add sawdust to the crankcase.

    • @rickprusak9326
      @rickprusak9326 Рік тому +1

      @jerrycallender9352 I never heard of sawdust being in the crankcase. How does sawdust mixed with engine oil get through the oil ports and lifters?
      The way I found out to quiet noisy rods and noisy rod knocks is using a heavier weight of engine oil. For instance, if the engine normally uses 30 weight oil, you replace it with 40 or 50 weight oil.
      The heavier weight oil really quiets a noisy engine internally. But sawdust? That's a new one for me.

    • @jerrycallender9352
      @jerrycallender9352 Рік тому

      Perhaps you're too young to have been exposed to the practice, and I did not claim that sawdust would make its way thru the engine, I was merely making a comment.

    This "Mall" is more like a museum! Rows and rows of cars with ultra high prices so they just sit there. I'm sure they sell, but not as fast as if they were decent prices. I'll bet many cars have been there over a year! 😥
    There's a couple of ways to go with classic cars... Actually, any products...
    1. Put ultra high prices on them and make tens of thousands per vehicle.
    2. Put reasonable sell today prices on them and actually "turn" your inventory much, Much faster by doing volume. Sure, you make less on each vehicle, but you also make much more because the prices are competitive, you move volume, and not just for the ultra rich! You'd make much more year by year and make a lot more people thrilled with their stellar deal that they then tell people they know and they in turn come and buy from the "mall". It's word of mouth advertising and it costs you nothing and it's the very best kind! You don't get word of mouth with those prices... Very little anyway! You're word of mouth is, "You've got to go see the car museum!" No intention of actually buying. That's most people when they walk in there!!! 😅
    Your way, super high prices, very few can afford these cars so you cater only to the wealthy. I've seen similar cars in a similar condition for HALF THAT PRICE. Seriously. Tens of thousands less.
    Course, you might like making a "Home Run" on every single car you sell.
    When I sold, I liked doing volume, because I made way, Way more money, and I got a ton of people coming in asking for me because their friend I just sold to, told them to come on in and ask for me because he thought he got an awesome deal. We still made money on each and every sale, but the volume was many times higher and we all made more money and had way more referrals and happy customers. It's not so damn boring, either!
    I live far away from this mall, but if I did live close, I'd never buy from this museum.
    🤔🤷🥴

      From the consignors. We came close to closing a deal on a car here, however, too many small negatives/unfinished resto work led me to raise enough red flags to back away. Sales staff are great, no pressure and very understanding. Ended up buying a new 2023 Last Call Dodge Challenger RT, Blacktop for lesser money, and definitely less issues.

      With between 800 and 1100 cars, it's impossible to show everything. If I show a gasser, people comment that I should show this or that vehicle. My point is, I can't please everyone. However, I do appreciate your supporting the channel and commenting. I have shown unique vehicles in some of my newer videos. Have you watched those?

Then when some of these people Passed away Family found 10's of thousands of dollars hidden around the house. I am sure a lot of money has been thrown away of deceased Money horders over the years.

    Just another over priced used car dealer! I guess if they sell one car a month, at those prices, they will stay afloat. Seen too many of these over priced outfits go under. Those aren't pristine originals, their rebuilt beaters that have been given a new look and likely , identity. As long as the seller don't try to deceive anyone fine. Just don't cry if you find out that RARE model , you spent big bucks for, is a rebadged and polished common daily driver, that was a rust bucket recovered from some salvage yard and mostly reproduction sheet metal.

      Did you even watch the video in its entirety? This is a consignment dealership. They don't set the prices and all prices are negotiable. They also sell an average of 90 cars a month.
      No matter how you feel about the dealership, I hope you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the comment.
