This is one of the winning propositions from the last voting. I really don't know what to think about this sound. I put a lot of effort and commitment to this video, but it's still definitely not what I expected. Initially I thought that a church has to be a perfect place to make a very cool and deeply immersive binaural recording, but in reality as for me the final result isn't really that impressive.
I was in three different churches and every time was the same scenario. People were couching, and unfortunately even though the doors were closed the traffic (around 9 pm) was still way too loud. I recorded over 2 hours of raw ambient noise out of which only about 8 minutes turned out to be good enough to upload it here. When I find a better place I'll definitely try to re-make it.

If you haven't yet you should check out ASMR Rooms, they make ambient noise videos set inside famous rooms from literature and have a few Harry Potter videos like the library, common rooms, Hogwarts Express etc :)

Really like church sounds, especially in big ones where the choir constantly singing.
I really like videos like this one because I can close my eyes and imagine I'm there. Usually I'll make up a little story, like in this case, maybe I'm finding temporary safety in the confines of this church.

I think this is fascinating. Sorry about the time it took to get so little - and I appreciate you removing the coughing - but I think a lot of the movement and doors/traffic/far voices are their own special thing. Sort of like, distant life. Maybe not entirely relaxing at times but still comforting in its own way. I would enjoy more like this as a study aid - although admittedly, it would also be awesome to get sounds from a church that is almost or completely empty.

I went to a Catholic school when I was younger and we had a chapel with wood floors and an organ so this super relaxing. feels like I'm a kid again

This sounds great, I really like it. Maybe next time you could simply try church sounds. For example, see if you can speak with a pastor or whatever to see if you can come in at a time where no one's around and be able to record while the pastor's like doing stuff in his office.

I was hoping for longer, but I'm going to be honest this brought back all my Sunday memories and I loved it. I can't imagine what it will be if you find a more suitable location. I'd suggest looking in a more rural setting if possible? Less traffic I'd guess
And the traffic that I do hear in this actually adds to the ambiance since I grew up going to church in the city

Is ASMR a new physical phenomenae? I'm wondering if its caused by GMOs or Chemtrail spraying? I can't sleep without my ASMR videos softly, subtly playing in the background lulling me into my dream realm. For years I went without ASMR and I never needed it to sleep, but now in my late twenties, I need my nightly fix or I'm an insomniac. It seems the more I ask about ASMR the more I realize EVERYONE craves these recordings. And I mean EVERYONE!! Yet 15 years ago, nobody did. To me it's like a psychoactive drug, I literally get high off ASMR sounds, it triggers something deep and intimate and is highly addictive in a strange, unusual way. This video is pure magic! =)
your nickname is scary btw / Relaxing activity is addictive by default, so that would explain the basic need for asmr from someone, who got used to it. I am sure, that there is more behind it, but basic knowledge is better than nothing.

I appreciate the effort, but this just sounds like a stereo recording to me. I'm not really hearing the fine-tuned location-specific sounds I'm used to hearing in a binaural recording.
