Nice one Bill. I was told that you shouldn't mix baking soda with vinegar or you will reduce the effectiveness of both. Baking soda reacts with vinegar to produce a salt and water and carbon dioxide (which causes the fizzing). If it's only a small amount of baking soda, there will still be some vinegar left. But it might be better to mix baking soda with water for the paste to scrub in, then follow up with a spray of vinegar afterwards. I'll have to get some of those scrubbing attachments. I've seen them at bunnos
Vinegar largely neutralizes the bicarbonate. So what end up with is an abrasive paste. I think you can skip the vinegar and use baking soda to have the same effect.

I know Coles sell a *double strength* vinegar so maybe it's like that. Will have to Google it and see what the acidic strength is. The double strength is 8% acidity (just checked). Hope that may be of some help. 👍

I was just at Paint Spot today for some.........paint and now I have to go back again for the pretty blue masking tape (I think it's on special). 😁 I have 2½ weeks to do all my grout lines due to me being the only one at home so this video was just in time. *Thank you* for that Bill, much appreciated. 👍
Hot Tip, Use a Magic Eraser block cut into strips and the Carpet cleaner in the pink spray bottle! It lifts grease and dirt. Clean with wet sponge. Honestly it is a game changer!

The grout at my house is very old. My house was built 1963 and is all falling off. Probably gonna have to regroup the shower area. But looks neat as after cleaning grout
I don't bother with bicarb. I put the vinegar in a spray bottle, spray on tile and grout. Leave for 2-3 minutes, then scrub with a long handled tile brush for floors and a hand held tile brush for walls.

What a pain in the arse having to mask all those tiles. What happens if you get the sealer on the tiles and dont remove it? It is just a clear coating isnt it?

Does the sealer prevent moisture gathering under the tiles for old and worn grout?

If they were mixed in equal parts you would be correct. But Bill was using way more bicarb than vinegar.

Work quickly? 😲 Sorry. Paint Spot have bulk packets of the blue tape but can't remember the price. Bunnings had similar ones for around $17.

It’s a clear coat which may leave a sheen on your tiles and may make it slippery when wet
