I believe that electric bikes are a better option for 🚪 dash, or Uber work it would save a helluva lot on gas. But on ☔ days you always switch back to your 🚙.
Yeah the miles would have to match the money bc gas is not cheap at all. And some of these apps are getting comfortable with throwing ppl on waitlist despite saying the week before they're actively seeking drivers.
My biggest tip is if you have to cancel an order due to a restaurant wait time, customer texted you and canceled, or the store is closed when you get there. Just call door dash support ad explain to them, they have always removed the order for me and it didn’t add to my cancel percentage AND they pay me the base pay for “inconvenience”.
Hmm...I called (or messaged) messaged support because the restaurant had no such order and they said there was nothing they could do. Wondering if I should call back.
Same, all 3 issues with orders I've had (order already picked up, store not at provided address, and pos systems being down) I contacted live support in app and they pay half of the order offer and removed it at no penalty and I was on my way to the next orders in 2 or 3 minutes
yesterday I had the best orders on doordash, peak pay was 9$, I made 78.25$ in 2 hours. I'm still in shock, I had never made that much money here in Maryland

Our peak pay hits after dark and typically where I don’t want to be. Some parts of Cleveland aren’t safe after hours. And that’s the part that irritates. DD doesn’t pay enough for any risks associated. Half of Parma is potholes and construction. Cleveland is a cluster with no parking and unsafe areas. Stop at a red light at 1am and your taking a chance depending on where you are. The peak pay of a 1$ or at the most 3$, isn’t worth it. It’s actually better to go longer during the day and go home at night. Just bring something to do and turn your car off between dashes.
Good tips Mike! What I do to save gas is park in a parking lot near restaurants and turn the car off and go inside a grocery store or a pharmacy like CVS and wait until I get an order, saves a little gas I guess.
Vancouver, Canada. Our peak pays are 2hr blocks, $3 is the single highest peak pay I've seen. The only time we had higher peak pay is when there was a 2hr $2 peak pay, and doordash added another overlapping 4hr peak pay on top for $2.50. Resulting in +$4.50 per order for those 2 hours during dinner rush.
I drive about 15 minutes to another zone the nights I work which are Thursday and Friday and Saturday. This zone is a rich area for the most part. Nice high dollar homes in safe neighborhoods and barely any apartments. The zone I live in is mostly apartments. At the end of the night sometimes I luck out and get an order heading down to my home. If I don’t get the order I drive back sometimes 20 minutes depending on where I’m at. But when I do the math I almost always average $18 per hour plus. I don’t mind the drive.
Right! What does a $2-$3 Peak Pay incentive do for me if I’m losing an order an hour due to over-saturation of drivers? I would think staying in your market and scheduling a time slot beats this strategy of chasing Peak Pay. While others chase you reap the benefits by staying put.
Getting peak pay in my market is rare. When it is offered it's usually for the overnight shift. How to combat it? Don't accept ANY order that is under your minimum dollars-to-miles threshold. So, forget about TD or accept more/earn more.
Im in the chicalgoland area and right on the edge of farmland. Door dash keeps trying to send me out 12 miles out into the farmland for $6 over and over and over dropping my acceptance rate. Its either have a low rate or lose money

Doordash needs to copy Uber Eats platform and app, it's far superior, if I was sitting in front of a restaurant and doordash and Uber showed the same order, same money same place, I'd take the Uber order everytime
In my area I know a lot of drivers that chase the peak pay so I head the other way by at least 2 zones and I'm busier than they are and most of the time make more. We are friends so we share how we do.
Luckily, in my market place the surrounding cities can be busy as my home city. If I get a good DD for 10 miles to the next city, I’ll take it because I always get another DD that sends me back. Thanks for posting.
Unfortunately, most of this advice won't work in my area. I dash in a small town that only offers peak pay of $1- $3 super early in the morning or late at night. I'm doing good if I make $18/ hour. Probably 50% of orders take me outside of my zone to deliver. Also, I have UberEats but almost never get orders, and we don't have grubhub or any of the shopping apps.
Hi! I’ve been a dasher and I’m going on my 5th week as dasher and I have completed 261 lifetime deliveries and my acceptance rate is 94% and according to door dash I get priority for high paying orders and my question is I usually schedule the time to go dashing and is there anything I have to click within the app that would work to keep me within the zone I have chosen to dash? The problem is that when I pick up orders from the restaurants they are within the zone but when it’s time to deliver to the customer it’s pretty much far away and in neighborhoods that you don’t want to be because it’s not safe. Any tips or videos that you can recommend me to watch so I can have a better understanding because I’m a little bit lost and fairly new. Thank you
Look ay the map, also it tells you the total amount of miles. I just completed day 2. But i know my city pretty well and if the restaurant seems far from the house i wont accept. Theres enough time to look at the map and distance in order to decide.

I got a delivery yesterday more than 15 miles away then I declined it. I wasn't able to get another order until after 1 hour it was ridiculous. The reason why I declined the order is because I've had bad experiences in that area they didn't even tip well.

I haven't seen peak pay in my market in months!! Last time was a snowstorm last winter. I don't see it being worth the gas money to drive 30 miles away to a busier zone that has peak pay, do you?
In my area South Bend IN. We hardly ever get peak pay. I've see $3 30min away but the area is so rural it's going to be high miles on most orders. We just got offered a very generous (sarcasm) $9.99 per hour. (Doesn't this make you an employee & entitled to benefits?) My guess is our market is flooded and those no tip/low pay per mile orders that aren't going to deliver themselves. This will sucker a lot of drivers in. Also top dasher will become filled with these earn by hour people accepting everything. So the selective people will be pushed further down in the algorithm.
I do face value only .I do some road trips if the price is right however ,going back seems like I don't get crap .still fingering out to maximize my time .as I been getting screwed in some of the offers .I also believe that they say 2 miles it's more than to miles in witch this is a breach of contract and u have a right to remove this without penalty .do not sit and wait for more than 10 minutes on an offer ur time is money and if ur waiting ur not making that money next thing u know u ran out of gas ⛽ and u have a hole in ur pocket and the apps r the ones who got rich
Can a peak pay amount change at all? Tonight I had peak pay in my area from 11: 30pm to 1: 29am, I started dashing at 7pm and then when 11:30 rolled around I was only making $2 peak pay from 11:30-1:29.

Nope I still Cherry pick not driving far where I don't know the area peak pay never works out for me
Offering a handy doesn’t seem like the way. I appreciate the energy though.
Are there any Chicagoland dashers here? I started a week ago and I have more bad days than good.
Do you get paid by the hour too?
Great info, I appreciate your tips! Thanks!
Stillwater Oklahoma, max 3.00 peak pay I've seen
Constructive Criticism here, DO NOT ASK PEOPLE TO LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE EVERY 5 MINUTES FOR EVERY VIDEO. VERY ANNOYING. Good Content Though. Keep it up.
1$ just downloaded the app today
Can a peak pay amount change at all? Tonight I had peak pay in my area from 11: 30pm to 1: 29am, I started dashing at 7pm and then when 11:30 rolled around I was only making $2 peak pay from 11:30-1:29.
When I canceled they stop sending orders for me like a half hour they do that all the time because my area it’s very busy 😢
Here in DFW,Tx peek pay is only 11:30pm to 1:30am 😮single female that’s not that great
My town never even has peak pay. Winning. 🥳
