I had Race Face Vault hub from new and that started slipping, warranty said nothing wrong with hub but after 8mths they replaced all new parts. (Funny that with nothing wrong with their hubs there were no spares on the planet) In the intervening time, I changed out on the dealer reccomendation to a DT Swiss 240 (upgraded) and had 2 of those hubs slip.
My wife had a Shimano FHM 410 in her Rise and it had never skipped a beat. I built a wheel with the Shimano FHM-510 and it has been fine for over a year now.
E-bike manufacturers or dealers just do not understand the forces transmitted through a rear hub. I'm delighted with how my £50 ($60) hub has lasted compared to DT Swiss at 5 times the price.

Had the same issue on my Occam after 9 months. Showed my lbs where I bought it and they got me a replacement from Orbea and they said this is quite a common issue. 👍

Just an update: Orbea replaced this wheel with a new wheel. That wheel has a Shimano hub FH-MT510-B. Now THAT hub is bad, but in a different way. The bearings in the freehub fell apart. But Orbea is sending out ANOTHER free replacement wheel. I'm probably upgrading to some DT Swiss wheels though.

Rear axle complete sheared on my H15 with less than 50-miles on the odometer. LBS was impressed with the damage and threw on an upgraded WTB rear wheel they had just built up.

Thanks for the video. I have the identical bike and experienced the same issue at 7 months with no other issues to date, great bike as priced. Wife has the 2022 M20 model, different hub, with no issues overall. I’m in the replacement process now and it’s covered by warranty. I’m hoping it’s improved or upgraded, would prefer not to experience the same problem forward.

That happened to me too, unfortunately my warranty is just above 2 years, so I'm screwed. This is extremely disappointing, what a low quality, and those are very expensive bikes.

Thank you! Great video. Hey, what free hub does it have? HG or micro spline?

How do you like the Orbea Rise? Have you had any other mechanical issues with the bike? I'm thinking about purchasing a 2023 model.

This is my first major issue, but I am starting to experience the dreaded suspension creak. I worked on it yesterday and think I might have solved it but have only ridden around the neighborhood. Gotta get on a proper trail to be sure. If I were to be buying today, I would try to get a test ride on a Transition Relay before buying the Rise.

Look more closely. See the damage where the pawls push against the the freehub? The material the freehub is made of is too soft. This has been acknowledged by Orbea. The pieces failed to get heat treated.
