Great video. Earlier this week i was having a really stressful evening and despite trying to be relaxed about bedtime I felt like my older 3 took full advantage of this and then when I really needed them to go to sleep they pushed and pushed and I ended up losing it. Overnight I felt really guilty and so I decided to write them all a letter apologising for how I had shouted which I gave them the next morning. I really wanted them to have that memory of me apologising rather than the shouting. The hugs I received over breakfast and the calm bedtime the following night made me feel like I was nailing parenthood 😂
Love this. It’s so important, because it models what a healthy relationship looks like. Yes we will slip up and yes we will yell, but they can see that an apology is important. Especially as they grow older and enter relationships of their own, they’ll understand what is healthy and what is toxic, so by simply showing them that yes we make mistakes, but we are accountable and we can move forward. Thanks for the comment 😊
