@@warrenstemphly5756 Yeah you can improve it some but I don't think you can ever get the suspension to handle what the little engine is capable of. Some folks have greatly modified the suspension and got it pretty good.
@@MillBranchDulcimores good to know. I’ve heard of folks adding thicker oil in the front and a better rear shock, but I’m not sure what improvement it actually makes. I’m looking at getting a bike in this category in the next few months and it’s great to see what they actually can do.
Excellent video because you’re an excellent rider. The 230f is designed for that stuff really. You did fine against those 2 stroke 250s. Held your own. And stopping a couple times to check on people who were hurt. That first guy hit a tree at a decent clip of speed, ouch! I’m watching all videos of 230 & 150f’s in hare scrambles to see how they perform. And so far so good. They’re not performance bikes, but they are trail bikes that will perform well in their element. Can do some small jumps. They shine on cornering and low gear through the wet stuff. You showcased that in this video. Those whiskey throttle 2 strokes bogged out where you geared down and pushed through on the 4 stroke, 230f I’m currently riding a 150f and love it. I’m looking to enter a hare Scramble in NY or PA soon. I’m a novice for sure but I’m down for the thrill and adventure of that kind of race. And you just showed me something intangible. That it’s possible! And there’s hope! Oh , and that you’re a good human. I’d do the same I like to think. Had a ttr125l for a while and it made me not wanna ride. Sold it and got a 150f and it changed my whole relationship with riding. Hopefully get up to a 250 2 stroke someday Thanks again guy😎
250 two stroke is the woods weapon. I have a KTM 300 i race usually but raced the 230 and loved it. I also raced it for the FL GNCC and got 4th in C250. Going to try to find the SD card that has that video on it, its a good one!! Thanks for watching, for sure get out there and race, even if you don't win its a fun experience.
Dude this is great! First off this course looks awesome. Secondly your not much slower than anyone else except maybe the straights and that’s not where it counts. Did you notice any fade with the rear drum brake? I’m only a C rider that hits the local hare scramble and enduro circuit from time to time but one of the reasons I didn’t get this or a TTR was due to the drum brake. However after watching this.. I think I don’t need another fancy eurotrash bike to get back in the game again. Thanks for posting!
Hey man didnt see your comment until now, I didnt feel a difference in the drum brakes from the first corner, to the last. they did great the entire race!
Yeah i like more of this smooth racer do his own speed ,i like to watch faster riders passing threw and than they struggle a few minutes later ha ha!i like to watch a guy that stopp when someone crash! it need only a few seconds to ask for the physical conditions ,maybye seconds that can someday save a live. And i like the sound from the Honda like a singer sewingmachine doo her job ha ha! Great race video. I’m debating switching back to my 230F for racing. I’m pretty sure I’m faster on the 230 than I am on my 350. It’s such an easy bike to rip on.

fantastic video mate the 230's are beasts and always will be.

Nice riding bro. Best tip I can give is to never look back during a race. Keep er pinned and just worry about what’s ahead.
Does the bike was stock?
Bike is bone stock yeah
awesome ride, I have a 230 and I love the way the engine feels but I think its physically too small for me. How tall are you?
Get clamps to push the bars forward and up. It makes the feel of the bike way better.

Nope, just maintain it and keep the tires and tubes good and it will be a great bike.

Yes probably nearly identical raw power. If the klx is fuel injected however it will be smoother
