I have one as my play bike. My normal ride is a YZ250FX.......great bike but the little 230 is just pure fun. I did put stiffer fork springs in it as the stock ones were much too soft for a grown man.
@@xxrise_of_venusxx3760 it's an old bike, you'll never know how it was treated by previous owner, can't shit on a bike that probably wasn't serviced correctly

Tyler27B, That was awesome! Love the Little red Thumper action. You rode super consistent and had great line selection. The Horn was bonus every time. Keep Roost'in
Awesome video! I'm running my 230F in Hare Scrambles right now as well...I've done a whole bunch to it to make it a legitimate woods bike....love mine. Good stuff.

Great video. I just got a 230. I love it and looking forward t spending some more time on it. It’s bone stock. Any must’s when it comes to mods? I appreciate your advice.
This race wasn't that dusty and this was an old mine area so its somewhat bumpy in areas with the off camber parts. The gopro never does anything justice
As a teen I had no place to learn how to ride so my dad paid for motocross lessons, I had a tough time learning. I could barely keep my balance and for my third class my trainer took me to a motocross race. Someone crashed into me probably my fault since I didn’t know what I was doing and I fell right in front of everyone in an incline, fell hard and couldn’t stand up right away, by some miracle no one ran over me. Never went to motocross lessons again and my dad sold the bike. 5 years later I bought my own dual sport to commute and now I’ve just contacted a Crf230 owner to buy their bike
I know this is old but honest question...do you find it easier to ride a less powerful bike smoothly? Obviously lacks the passing power and all that, but just seems easier to maintain momentum without getting beat up from having to hang on and control the power.
Yes and no. Its hard to pick up speed therefore you really watch how much you slow down. This bike is 100% stock so the tires are terrible for this dry grass terrain. But it is easy to hold it wide open compared to a big bike. I recorded another video last weekend but the stupid go pro didnt record even though it was still on and said recording when i got done. There was a lot of good action that race i was glad to get on video. Pissed me off but oh well. Ill record another one soon!
Great Video...First video ever watched, subscribed and will be watching others..I'm in the market for a Honda 230. What year is yours and have you done any upgrades to it?(I might find the answers in other videos..lol) Anyways be safe..I was cheering for you..must hate passing racer's from other race they should be made to slow down and let the new pack pass safely... but what do I know, I'm a noob when it comes to bike racing.
These 230f need a custom chromoly lightweight frame, better shock and forksprings, you have a perfect clubman bike right then. . 250/450f the power will drain you after 1 hour + . .
I used to only ride the big bore bikes but learned that I can do so much more on a 250 4T. I ride either my CRF250X or my YZ250F. I bought each for about $1,900 used. Give one of those a try. you will not be disappointed.
@@Tyler27B It does sound like lots of fun. My comment regarding the smaller bore 4t's equaling more fun still stands... LOL In fact... Honda just released the CRF250F. Not sure what I think about it compared to the 230. Its not really any bigger, has fuel injection, slightly beefier forks but not longer travel. Looks cook though. I was hoping a little taller and a tad more suspension travel at least.
@@Tyler27B Here's a guy doing a Hard Enduro Challenge in Brazil on a stock one and he won. Theres another video of them stripping down a stock bike and looking at details of the cylinder and head. What's with the horn? Is that common etiquette in scrambles? Is a rider you've caught up to supposed to let you pass? It's a race so I wouldn't think so but...
One of the best bike I've ever ridden, and I ride 450s 525s 250s everything and still prefer the 230
