Same as. I'd rather go out and buy a brand new Legend just for the boost mode (I mean "Beast" mode), if I suffered that badly from POS ( perceived obsolescence syndrome), that I HAD to have it😉. v109 is fine for me. These ridiculous, "Beast": "Thor": "Odin": "God": "Freya": mode names eh🤣. Whatever next? "Nebuchadnezzar The Second" mode"? 0r "Pompey The Great"? Obviously clueless about things😵💫.
Why are there single frequency options on a SMF detector, that’s an easy one. I get in high EMI areas and Deus 2 or Legend is too erratic to even hunt, but Pop it in 10 kHz, smooth and quiet. That was an easy one
i keep sensitivity less then 25 in case of emi have the old leagion metal upper shaft 1.13 update works fine some places works better then others picked up used last yr use cabled head phones no batterys dead after a few hrs its what i used when starting the hobby back in the 90s wish i had vdi read out
Can't get on with the wet beach, both me and my mates machines are on 1.11,there's no feedback coming through the headphones whatsoever. Were trying to get the machine to give us a bit of feedback because that's how we run our other detectors but it's totally dead. We just use dry beach at the moment as it works fine on the wet beach even in the rock pools .
I’m not very impressed by Noktas lack of response in addressing this issue , especially by a company who prides themselves in customer service .Also do you think a machine running 1.13 not using the silicone labs drivers wouldn’t pick those targets up ? I believe I have lost depth on 1.13 using Noktas tools , I’ll try your method and see what happens . Cheers
Thanks for watching my video and commenting, I think the new silicone lab driver sorts out a lot of the issues that everyone is having with the 1.11 and 1.13 update. Hope it works for you, happy hunting 👍
1.09 has non adjustable audio response setting which is higher than the stock setting in 1.11 and 1.13. You can crank it higher if you want but most people leave it lower because you can judge depth better that way.
@@MrBottlecapBill Well, it could be true if it wasn't false, audio response is the audio gain setting which is adjustable on 109, and chatters and falsing are not lower level on 111 or 113. Many others depth tests showed 109 picks up targets stronger
I'm still not convinced with v1.11 and v1.13, Maybe with the extra filters added to 1.11 may have affected depth, I don't use bottle cap rejection or ground suppression. So I've reverted back to v1.09.
If you want depth buy a Nexus MPV3 . You won't find real depth in SMF. SMF isn't about depth, per se. If it was, why are there SF 4kHz/10kHz options on SMF machines? Mine Lab said, "Nox SMF makes all SF machines obsolete". BS. So they put SF options on the Nox's?? Thank Godness for Paul Warren and the truth, in my opinion.
All machines have issues with deep targets as signal degradation happens the deeper you go(most machines will call deep targets iron). SMF helps with identifying deeper targets better.........it doesn't give you more depth per say. If you want the most depth you need a super low frequency or a pulse machine. Sadly you'll also have to dig a LOT more holes because deep iron and nails will sound great. That's where SMF shines. IT's not the answer to everything though. SMF has more EMI problems. It can suffer in gravel/rocky environments and depending on the content of your clad (canadian clad is steel core) it may identify keepers as junk in certain situations. More tools in the box is always the better solution.
For finding tiny Iron Age silver units, full staters and gold quater staters at depth, on elevated ridge-ways, in my part of UK, I'll stick with Nexus thank you. No profusion of nails up there on that high plain. My SMF won't get near them. Horses for courses I guess. At least that's what my collection of Iron Age coins tells me Bill. Plus some really nice terret rings 😊.@@MrBottlecapBill
I updated from 107 to 109 when 109 came out, used a self powered external usb port, love 109, never changed

Good luck mate in 2024 keep them treasures coming 👍 👏
Why would you put the recovery speed up so high, you dont need high separation. I'd put it on 4 or five at the most for that test!

Mines exactly the same chattery n feels unusable since upgrade so using simplex I’ll follow your advice

Interesting observations, Where did you get a coil with orange cable?
Thank you for your comment. The orange cover on my coil wire is from a company called snake skinz.
Do i need the usb driver? I had zero issue with my update but havent used it much.
The 109 seems to pick it up easy

Audio boost is in 109
I have seen depth issues and finds rate has gone down and I thought I was going mad but digger Dan had the same issues as me

video quality is only 480 hmm. the one before the gold ring did sound better on 1.09
I have version 1.11 and I dig deeper then I want to most of the time
Hi mate...have you tried the latest 1.15 update?..if you have, do you prefer it to 1.13 ?
