I actually played football for 13 years up through high school (granted, that was 19 years ago now, but still). Back when I played, we called it getting your bell rung, and we would yell at each other to get up off the ground and back in the game. The worst I ever saw was a guy get literally knocked unconscious, they brought him to the sideline after they woke him up, and he swore he was at a local concert venue watching a Pink Floyd concert. He ended up missing 5 weeks before he was cleared to play again. It can definitely be scary stuff.

Hits like these are illegal in today's American Football. Any Helmet-to-Helmet hits like these can get the player who initiated the contact disqualified for the game, fined big time money, or at the very least cause a penalty for a loss of yards.
Violent hits still happen, but players MUST hit with the shoulder, not the helmet.

To answer your question about the guys in this video, a few of them got pushed into irrelevance soon after these hits, 1 of the hits (where brown gets his head taken off) actually was the start of his dramatic downfall (Search Antonio Brown). Troy Polamalu was the guy with the great hair, someone recommended reacting to his highlights and you def should, he's a freak athlete. 3:11 that is Antonio Brown. After that hit he suffered a brain injury and went borderline insane. At the time he was by far the best receiver in the league. After that, he was released and signed continuously by a number of teams. But he had been a free agent for about 8 months until a few days ago because nobody wanted him! But a few days ago he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and now he is doing quite well on and off the field.

American football is no joke. Crazy to think they didn't even have helmets at one point. When they got the first helmets it was a little bit of padding.

So that hit at 3:08 is potentially the start of the unraveling of Antonio Browns career. When he had his major meltdown a lot of people around him were saying it may have been due to CTE (a trauma induced brain condition that will eventually cause dementia) and this is one of the hardest head on collisions of his career.

  • @brennanmonroe4788

Bro this spring rebound is crazy U never seen anything like that in my 7 years of football and this sport is hella rough og

So I am a high school football player and one thing that happens when you get hit in the head too many times is an increase chance of getting what is called CTE, which starts to like decay or make your brain malfunction slowly over time and with these head injuries cause concussions. I've had two already and you start to lose your memory and your brain doesn't function as well as it used to beofre. So yes mostly all of these players have had life lasting injuries from these hits.
