You’re talking about now when they don’t use the same glass that shatters. You’re talking about the glass that comes out in one piece or breaks only into a couple big ones. Those are 5-10 minutes to install. When you have the older glass actually shatter , it’s gonna take a lot longer than 10 minutes and not be “really easy to install”

For anyone wondering about their question the glass doesn’t really break like that anymore they switched what it’s made of so now the pane of glass just kinda cracks or falls out but when that happens they stop the game immediately and a crew comes out and replaces it usually it doesn’t take that long to replace
Yeah it’s just not as often as it used too! It happened at a game a few years ago and it took about 20/30 mins to change.
Yea cause now it’s essentially ballistic glass; we were sitting behind the net at a rangers-blues game and Vladimir tarasenko took a slap shot that spiderwebbed the glass and they had to replace it; took about 10 minutes

As an Australian who has been wanting to see some sidemen reactions to AFL, seeing some of these hits makes me want to see them react to the AFL's biggest hits or more AFL content! For context with the AFL ones, you can legally hit (called a "Bump" or "Hip and Shoulder" in AFL) as long as you don't make contact with the head with any part of your body. The hit that Tobi gagged at saw the player be suspended for 5 matches as a result as head contact was made.

The hit at 3:30 was extremely impressive because it was a punter who delivered it, typically punters and kickers won't be the ones to deliver big hits or even make tackles most of the time, and there's many rules protecting them even way more than QBs are protected. For that reason some people don't consider them the same as they view NFL players at pretty much any other position.

It takes around ten minutes to do it. But nowadays the glass is way stronger than it used to be and you rarely ever see it breaking.

This is an NFL Pro Bowl game (All-stars of the league split by conferences) which means nobody EVER takes these games seriously as they are treated like an exhibition. Some context on a couple of these hits STRICTLY for those that don't watch American football:
3:28 - #6 Kris Jones is a punter, one of the very few positions in American football that doesn't usually tackle unless absolutely necessary. While it does happen, it's very uncommon for kickers and punters to tackle because of the risk of injury. Especially considering that teams usually only carry 1 kicker and 1 punter on their rosters. So for a punter to lay a big hit like that is impressive.
5:10 - That's a clip from a Pro Bowl game, which is just the NFL's fancy name for an all star game. This clip is from the mid-2000's. Back then, players went out and played it like it was just another regular game. So while definitely not uncommon in those days, you won't see hits like this in the Pro Bowl anymore. It's essentially tag football now. #8 Brian Moorman, the player that took the hit, is also a punter. I'm assuming he ran it on a fake punt, so he had to get the first down. Getting tackled was inevitable because running out of bounds to avoid a hit wasn't an option. He had to get the first down. He definitely wasn't expecting to get hit like that.
Both clips were punters. One laying a hard hit, and one taking a hard hit. You won't see many punters make tackles, but when they do make them, they tend to be big hits.

As an ice hockey player. When you either throw a hit or get hit and hit the ice badly. It doesn’t hurt that bad because when your in the moment adrenaline kicks in. But going into the boards in an awkward way, it hurts a lot. You are also trained on how to take a hit, throw a hit and how to fall. That’s why they get up sometimes unfazed

There is a reason why hockey and A.Football players wear padding, if they didn’t wear padding people are going to die on national TV. Head first into the boards with skates on or a shoulder on head hit at full speed = paralyzation or death
Over here in Canada at least, this is one of the reasons that many (not all) people who grew up watching hockey or the nfl struggle to accept football because of how often the plyers go down and stay down from seemingly minor contact. Here we are used to players getting up straight after contact, and playing on. Evgeni Malkin’s goal in the early 2010s playoffs against the Flyers comes to mind.
There is no point playing like that tho, because no one would be able to score because whenever someone gets the puck, an opponent would just barge into him.

Something to note about all these hockey hits is that a lot of them are actually illegal hits and the players will get a penalty and sometimes will also be suspended for multiple games. in ice hockey if the glass breaks, the maintenance crew will trim new glass if they haven’t already and replace it. it usually takes about 10-15 minutes and play can’t continue until it’s installed

To answer Harry's question about the glass in hockey, yes they have replacement glass that they stop the game to install. Depending on what pane breaks it can take between 10 and 30 minutes to replace and clean up.
However the glass doesnt really break like that anymore because its made with stronger materials and its incredibly rare
