Try these songs by them: "My My" for a harder sound, or "Roderigo" for a softer sound. They got their name from an old TV police show called CHiPs. Seven Mary Three was the call sign of one of the motorcycle cops.
This is definitely that peak 90s alternative sound that I grew up loving. The bass guitar in this song is so good. I also suggest Water's Edge and Shelf Life by this band.
Another band worth checking out that also lives in the same lane: Collective Soul. I'd call out specific songs...but, there are more than plenty to choose from. ("Shine" would not be a bad starting point, though.)
The World I Know would be good. Also I remember modding in the song Heavy into the last NHL game on PC to play during breaks in the gameplay and it fit so perfect. Awesome band.
Music and our memories are so great sometimes! I havent heard this song in probably 10 yrs, yet i sang along with every word. How much of our brains is spent storing 30 yr old song lyrics? Great video!
Seven Mary Three is a very solid grunge band. This song played endlessly on the radio in the mid to late 90's. Another similarish band/song would by Wasting my time by Default. That released in 2001.
Frickin Love this channel. You take time to listen and talk it out. And your Blue accents with the Blue top is perfect. I... keep being surprised. I dont know why. You compel and you dissect and you wander and we are better for it. Love this channel. Peace and Love to ja Love. ☮☮💜💜Ja made me smile today. That is a blessed moment. ** ** ** your paypal link isn't connecting... maybe other can confirm?
I got to see 7 Mary 3 play a handful of songs at a street festive back when this album came out. It was supposed to be a full set, but got cut short. This is the 90s so crowd surfing was very popular. Normally, event security will either push the crowd surfers back the way they came, or even let them stage dive. Since this event was held on a public street the local police department served as security. The cops decided that they'd deal with crowd surfers by dragging them backstage and beating the holy hell out of them. Well, this stage is just a raised platform on the sidewalk. So everyone in the crowd had a clear view of "backstage". Obviously the crowd starts to get restless. The band picks up on this, looks around, sees what's happening, and comment on it. They're told to leave the stage. They shout a few lines from the end of Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name of" on their way out. Cops in full riot gear fill the stage, and since I was a teenager with no interest in finding out what teargas smelled like, my friend and I got the hell out of there. The local news said some people got arrested, and teargas was deployed. Keep in mind this wasn't a protest, or concert to raise awareness for some cause. This was a corporate sponsored show put on by Pepsi. I got discounted tickets because I bought them from a deal through Subway restaurants. I never would've expected it to be that crazy.
I see everyone mentioning their song Water’s Edge, which is great, but one of my favorite songs of theirs that rarely gets mentioned - but in my opinion is their best - is Shelf Life. It was on The Crow: City of Angels soundtrack and is a total banger.
yes ive always thought this song was like 90's southern rock - this is why i like reaction videos I hear other people say things i thought but verbalized
This song is about suicide and depression. ‘Cumbersome’ is similar to ‘a burden.’ To become cumbersome to others is to become a burden onto them. If someone says their life is cumbersome, they’re saying their life is a burden. Similar to some other grungy rock songs, it takes a very heavy statement but charges it up a bit. The unaware can be rocking out to a song that’s about… yeah, you get the idea. Papa Roach’s ‘Last Resort’ does a similar thing. ‘Water’s Edge’ is the essential Seven Mary Three song.
Hey, you rock! 🤘 I have some suggestions for you if you would like some more Halloween themed vidoes. Voiceplay just released two new covers/videos and they are perfect for this time of year! One is "Be Prepared and the other is "Thriller" and I think if you can you should add them to your list to watch and react too! You're awesome!
I just think back during the time this came out, anything that wasn't metal, punk, or grunge, we just lumped it all together and called it Alternative rock. Post grunge as well.
Probably the most underrated band of the past 30’years. If you dig deeper Jason Ross has an astronomical voice. This song doesn’t do this band justice.
5:00 how often he uses the word cumbersome and the emphasis he puts on it strikes me as somebody mulling over an insult they received from a loved one.
SM3 are so good and under rated these days, especially this album American Standard. Knowing your taste in music Ray you'd love the rest of the songs even more.
Always really liked this song. If Soundgarden is more on the metal/hard rock side of grunge, and Nirvana is more on the punk side, this feels like some combination of "grunge" and Southern rock. I wish it was all like that, but their other stuff that I've heard is just the typical "post-grunge" stuff that I never personally cared for. Water's Edge is a pretty cool--albeit dark--song, though.
This band was part of that transition of bands that came out at the end of grunge….. unfortunately it probably contributed to them being one hit wonders, as they weren’t bad.
This is mid to late 90's. Another group out about the same time was Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Songs are Bittersweet and Broken Hearted Savior. Both great songs.
Try these songs by them: "My My" for a harder sound, or "Roderigo" for a softer sound. They got their name from an old TV police show called CHiPs. Seven Mary Three was the call sign of one of the motorcycle cops.
My, My is awesome
This is definitely that peak 90s alternative sound that I grew up loving. The bass guitar in this song is so good. I also suggest Water's Edge and Shelf Life by this band.
Seven Mary Three is considered grunge.
@@WheresWaldo05nobody cares. Stop nitpicking.

Definitely, Shine, December, Gel, and The World I Know are all awesome songs from Collective Soul. They’re so underrated.
Music and our memories are so great sometimes! I havent heard this song in probably 10 yrs, yet i sang along with every word. How much of our brains is spent storing 30 yr old song lyrics? Great video!
Just an FYI, seven Mary three (7M3) is the radio call sign of Officer Jon Baker, from the TV show CHiPs. ;)
This song was on the setlist of every band I was in in the 90's and 00's. Fun song to play.
A very very underrated band! I really liked them growing up. Thank you so much Ray for this reaction.

I have not heard this song in 20 years. It was a staple of rock radio in the 90s. I cannot name a second song by this band.
Water's Edge got a lot of radio play as well. Roderigo was a really good song too.

This song got a lot of radio play, in its time.
Saw them at a festival in 97. Great set 🤘
It's probably been 30 years since I've thought of these guys! Thanks for the nostalgia, Ray!!!
"Nearly Lost You" by Screaming Trees 🎸🎶
I cover this song in a band I drum for and it’s definitely one of my favs to play on the set list😅

Good tune! Great reaction! ❤
One of the grunge bands of the late 90's that faded after the alternative push in that time. A great band to listen to from that era.
One of those songs that always gets cranked to 10
"Waters Edge" & "Lucky" are pretty great too
This song is about suicide and depression.

have another thumbs up. Another song that makes me feel (sad).
Good stuff. Good reaction.
This was a nice blast from the past used to love this song.
I like “Water’s Edge” more
I was going to say the same thing.
Blue letter was pretty good also
🤘
Yes! + Punch in Punch Out is way underrated imo. One of best albums…ever
agreed. this is the toe dipped in the water. Waters Edge locked me into them.
One of my all time favorite songs
Thanks for the review
Don't over think it... It is what it is. It's GOOD!
Seven Mary Three was the call numbers for Jon and Ponch the two motorcycle cops on the tv show C.H.I.P.S.
Please check out Sevendust. You won't be disappointed 😊
Seasons and enemy specifically.

One of my favorite songs to karaoke
Also, waters edge is a another good one.

Raya is so beautiful it's unreal love watching her reaction ❤
Profound Analysis
Probably the most underrated band of the past 30’years. If you dig deeper Jason Ross has an astronomical voice. This song doesn’t do this band justice.
Seven Mary Three was the call sign for either Ponch or John on CHIPS
It was Jon Baker. Ponch was Seven Mary Four.
Dang this took me back to high school
5:00 how often he uses the word cumbersome and the emphasis he puts on it strikes me as somebody mulling over an insult they received from a loved one.
Water's Edge is great. So is My, My.
Ain't too proud to beg, sweet darlin'.
They always sounded like grunge infused with some southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd to me.
Details magazine called them "the blue collar REM" and other critics called them "Southern fried Pearl Jam."
Devil boy is the outstanding track on this album. Imo
Try Days of the New. Touch Peel and Stand goes hard
SM3 are so good and under rated these days, especially this album American Standard. Knowing your taste in music Ray you'd love the rest of the songs even more.
Seven Mary Three? Someone watched Eric Estrada in CHIPS as a child.
Isn’t that Jon Baker’s handle?
I met Larry Wilcox and standing next to him was Robert Pine who i didn’t recognize. He looked shorter and frail with a beard and long hair.
Agreeing with everyone else, “Waters Edge” is worth checking out, but I’m also going to add “Favorite Dog”
Love you ♥

My favorite Seven Mary Three song is Water's Edge you should react to it
Lol we used to make fun of this video when it came out.
I would say more of a grunge vibe than a country vibe
John DiMaggio on vocals.
"no, no, NOOO, yeah"
This band was part of that transition of bands that came out at the end of grunge….. unfortunately it probably contributed to them being one hit wonders, as they weren’t bad.
Any chance of doing more In This Moment: The Purge or Sanctify Me
I would say post-grunge is where they fit. Along with Bush, the Deftones, and a few others.
Nope. They are grunge.
Can you try Crawl by Miss May I?
This is mid to late 90's. Another group out about the same time was Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Songs are Bittersweet and Broken Hearted Savior. Both great songs.
Itscalled Rockabilly
If I can recommend a good song to react to, it would be "Do you feel like we do" by Peter Frampton.
a good version of that song would be from the 1975 midnight special.
Please check out Vision of Disorder- Southbound. You would love it.
React to Let Down by Dead By Sunrise
They sound like Nickleback
If you've never been poor you won't understand
I just want to see u 😊
The band that should've been bigger than Pearl jam?
Add a cu it becomes cucumbersome🎉
Reminds me of STP
And or Default
Why do you over analyze everything. It's just a good song and a band trying to be successful.
