I have to admit, the first video I watched I thought, this guy is trying too hard to be goofy, but the more I watched I realized you’re a happy guy in a sea of unhappy people. It’s great to see a guy having fun with what he does. Keep up the good work. Would love to see you do some more smelting with your dad.
Do you really think he acts this way off camera?? Personally, I think he just trying to make his videos more appealing, instead of boring. I do enjoy watching him though.
@@plk7592 He's a school teacher and has videos in his classroom and out with students teaching them. He acts the same genuine way in front of his students on camera. The man is an educator at heart and his subject is GOLD, and where to find it..
You don't want to see unhappy people every were you look. If you do then u 2 will be unhappy. So I recommend if you are any way unhappy ever then watch Dan the gold prospecting mans friend. Skippy the fossil hunter. If you are ever feeling down Skippy will cheer you up. He's priceless not many like him around. Who loves everything around.. Yip skip skip Skippy... And of course more Dan
I have binge watched about 3 years worth of your content and I love it. Your energy alone makes it worth the subscription! I'm happy that your heart surgery went well... I wanted to also point out that you remind me of my grandfather. Keep up the great work and awesome content!!!!
Dan, I watched my first video and realized something. You have a ongoing adventure, a claim, and a great sense of humor! Wish Michigan had such places.
Mr Dan, you make me smile the hole time i'm watching you pan. you make it fun as i do for my friends and kids..never change your style it works for us tubers watching you..thank you so much.Lonnieray
I love seeing the gold you find on all the different claims you have. I'm a Prospector and have a claim on caribou mountain in southeast idaho. I've learned much about gold in general by watching your videos and I really appreciate your hard work on this topic.
Love watching your vids! Here's an idea... instead of giving away gold in a contest - maybe you could give away a trip to one of your claims? Let us try and find our own gold for a day. I'd love that! Your neighbor to the south, Cheryl
Very good video....nice finds, Dan Hurd. Gold panning is so addictive. I did it up in Oregon for years. I never found much, but I loved doing it just to see what could be in the pan!
I love it when you get excited, I'd have been yelling and jumping up and down so you stayed cooler than I would have with that much pretty gold. Keep having fun, I look forward to learning what your family says about the amount you found near the river. Sending out love and hugs to all.
Not bad!! That experience (the element of surprise) vs.seeing it out in the open and digging it out!!!! I think you like the element of surprise better than seeing one flake or nugget and getting it with tools out in the open. Other than finding a NICE nugget by spotting it under water or between rocks at the shore, that is the epitome of BRINGING HOME THE GOLD!!!! That is what I keep dreaming about! I want to stumble upon a big nugget on a path down to the river and then I will be satisfied and I can pull out my fishing pole and catch some nice trout for lunch! Keep on showing us how it’s done! 👍😍👍. You’re the best!!
A hundred percent better Dan. I like your talent for working the pan and not swishing the fines over the lip. You do it right. Camera angle leaves a bit for us a we only see the upper rim and the gold is just on the edge or just off the edge but you know that as you edit them. I hope you keep this up. Way more fun when you find and don't squeal like the girl thing you had gotten in habit of. Keep it up and you have me. Happy for your success
This the best panning demonstration I've seen on UA-cam, the combination of hydrodynamic and dinse particulate stratification in the ovular method when processing such a large of material; then shifting the gold to the bottom edge of the pan with a more direct side to side motion to further wash off the denser material was perfect. It's wonderful to see someone getting so excited for something they obviously love and work hard to get. Keep it up 👍
You videos really are the best gold panning videos on UA-cam. Keep them coming love the gold. I live in Tampa Florida so its definitely hard to go panning here but maybe one day I'll be able to make it up your way. Thanks again Sean
That spot with the wall of rugged rocks and all the moss looks like a giant net to catch gold. Also, I've never seen slate in it's natural state before, it looked like rotten wood. Fascinating place.
I’ve only been prospecting for 6 months and in that time have learned a lot through you and others like you. I have found about 10 grams now but nothing that size. All smaller flat flakes. One day I’ll find some nuggies. Videos are great dude. Keep me coming
I love your content in your videos!!!! I live in Kansas!!! My aunt lives in San Leandro, California!! One of my cousins owns a gold clams and one day he was just walking along down from his mine and tripped over a 16 1/2 lbs rock of gold about broke his toe!!! Haven’t heard much he’s been busy finding more gold!!!! He’s a lot older than me so we never became close when we were younger!! He hung out with my older brother and sisters!!!! What a day to find that!!!!!
Hey dan I like your show a lot. I used to prospect in Arizona when I was younger around the Superstition Mountains. Some really cool streams with lots of colours in them. I’ve been wanting to find a place to do some panning just for the fun of it. It was a great hobby. It would be great to chat about some ideas I had. Take care and chat soon. Cheers
cool vid dan.remember pauly being so cold under water on another vid.seen the dime with pickers on it.looled like Canadian dime.no wonder you guys are so cold.thought you were in the u.s.thats such beautiful country up there.more than down here in alabama.thanks for another marvelous vid.🙌📬
Hey, Dan! I think I have watched just about all your videos on youtube and I have really learned a lot! I am 67 and new to prospecting. I live in south Central Missouri, so there isn't a whole lot of opportunity.
You are definitely one of my favorites for all those that I watch. Unfortunately I live in Illinois and do not get a chance to pan, however I will be moving to Tennessee in a year-and-a-half and I think I will have an actual chance to go out and Pan on a stream or river. Thanks for the videos and thank you for helping educate me on something that I hope becomes my greatest Hobby.
Just plain love watching Dan from the flatlands around Melbourne, FL Although while in my home state of Ohio I traveled to Ontario for 20-30 years fishing.
I don't blame you for keeping that spot, with gold like that the thought of using a highbanker is exciting!..Also when I watch your video's I can't keep from thinking of ZZ Top!..LOL(especially with your sunglasses on)..But I know you are more into metal, the AU kind!..I look forward to more videos from that location!..
Wow, what a claim! Would love to see a big cleanout of that area with some kind of sluice. Previous comments about some kind of vacuum system seem like a great idea too.
I like the lay of the slate. It would catch a lot of gold. You have a great claim there. Found beautiful gold. Now you know how you are going to spend the rest of your summer. You could end up with more friends than you need. (For the work) . Thanks for the video.
Hi Dan! I have recently discovered your channel and love it, so much so I’ve gone back to the first video and watched them all! After watching this one, I was wondering if a hoof pick brush would be a useful tool for getting into the cracks? Thank you for your channel, and helping to keep me sane during this crazy time!
My son and I watch your videos on Saturday mornings together we pan for gold in a baby bathtub in the house - he is 3.5 years old and thinks you are a pirate with the beard. I have a hilarious video of him panning and talking about you. Thank you for your inspiration.

Keep on keeping on. Thanks, Mary ,
Wow awesome new claim can't wait to see vids with a highbanker or sluice working good and a team of guys working it. I would love some vids about buying selling gold claims. How it works, costs, what you can and can't do on a claim etc. Seems like so much awesomeness. Would a metal detector help locate the good spots easier? Sorry for all the ?'s.

Thanks
You deserve to find such a great claim. Good on you Dan.
Thanks. Can't wait to get back
Love your video. Another great one. Nice looking gold.
Danny! I cant stand how great this is! Theses are Fraiser "krispies", as opposed to Fraiser flakes. Yee ha! This claim is a keeper!

Beautiful area with easy access and great gold, don't blame you for keeping that one to yourself! Love how you piled the pickers on a coin at the end, would kind of make a neat medallion if on some kind of special coin, like a silver coin that isn't too rare so coin collectors don't get too upset lol.
Got to keep a couple of claims for myself!
Dan have you tested any moss from there? I've watched a few channels where they pan the moss and have great success.
No. testing moss may be against the rules here in BC
What?
That's where they got the term Miner's Moss!
Testing moss IS against the law here in Vermont. Bummer!!
Dan Hurd Why? Is there a PETA version for Moss up there in BC? Is it an endangered species? Or did some legislature just get a bug up his bung hole and decide that running moss just hacked him off so noone could run moss?!?
I just want you to know how relaxing it is to watch you r vids.after seeing those two pans, am going to the crick, thank you.
Thanks! Happy panning
