"I am destroying the enemies of man, or at least the enemies of me being crazy profitable in the third quarter." Thanks for the laugh.
LoL, we are doing it in the name e of god! But the pope if not ..
@@icaropassosmissel7435 I'm doing it in the name of god and that god is money.
When I heard him say this phrase I chuckled and thought "yah ok, I'll sub now."
@@unclekanethetiberiummain1994 oh yes,the profane church of commerce from Endless Space.
@@unclekanethetiberiummain1994 Ow god who values money, us the people
"As CEO of the company, you get a big luxurious room where you can pop your pistol as you like, as well as play an RTS with real pieces on your laptop. also, free coffee."
I had a blast playing this game when it first came on Early Access. Here's hoping the finished product builds off that awesomeness.
Love to see this game getting air time. Play it vs your friends, it is hilarious! 100% needs a better tutorial.
My soul was screaming but you remedied it by mentioning beast wars. thank you.
I’m so glad to see content from this game! This game is a one man development. It still has a lot to go but Rob the developer has done so well so far.
They have a super helpful discord with amazing moderators. I’ve had some awesome experiences with this game with almost 40hr in game.
wow... I cant believe you're doing THIS game! I've owned this for a while now. An underappreciated action-strategy hybrid.
very crazy seeing this ol game from 2018 be played in 2023. im glad you had fun with it, and love what you do
Love all the levels of gameplay in this game. ALL
Once you get the hang of the game and it's systems to start beating the AI handily, the game is pretty damn fun.
But if you're alone, there are pitfalls that can really wreck you.
The Derelict Ship that can appear can only be explored by controlling a unit. And sometimes it has some really game changing loot too. Only a couple times have I managed to loot the special, super rare Dart Fighter from it. But it's a big upgrade to the regular fighter. It also can have things like 150 Tritanium which can be a huge boost early game.
Problem is, since you have to do it yourself, and can spend between 8 to 10 minutes doing that, it's not uncommon to leave with loot only to find your frontier system has been overrun and a swarm of ships are descending on your base because while you were playing an FPS, the AI was playing an RTS.
Been playing this game for a while. I really do like the direction the game is moving in.
Loving all the sci-fi coverage lately! So many games I had no idea existed, despite constantly looking out for new science fiction games.
Thanks for another awesome vid Splatt and I, too, would like to shoutout to that dudes mom.
LololoL. Great!
If this one gets a little polish over time i see this becoming a great one!
Each of the 3 factions are definitely unique with their own ships, power sources, research and play styles.
The Industrial one has nuclear waste that needs to be managed, and dumped off somewhere. But since it creates an AOE cloud of damage that can harm anything, including the container its in, players realized it was very effective to fly the waste to their enemies base, and dump it off there instead.
This strategy became so well known, the developer coded it into the Industrial AI's own behavior. Which makes playing defensively against an Industrial opponent, an extra hassle. As they will send nuclear waste cargo ships to your defensive lines or fleets, let them get destroyed, and if you aren't paying attention, you can lose a fleet in a couple minutes of that.
And if you're a "tower whore" like me, who likes to set up defense platforms around jump points to secure your systems, this tactic is extra annoying lol.
But the good news is if you have a star fighter, you can pilot that, or any other ship, and fly over to the container of waste and shoot it to destroy it. And that will dissipate the waste. Though the resulting explosion can cause damage, so I recommend a cheap fighter for the job, rather than a cruiser or other ship
Amazing that this game got so popular! I remember playing the first one. Does it have a community? What are the other 2 play styles?
I remember playing the original Executive Assault 1! When this game came out it wasn’t much to look at, but seems like there was a ton of support that brought it up to something really cool. Proud of the lone developer.
Hopefully the first person mode can get polished up but it's cool that it's included at all. It's quite a rare feature in RTS.
Dude, I am loving your channel. I literally just subbed a few minutes ago and it's because you talk about all of these fringe RPG/strategy games that are unique and fun, but may not have a lot of general hype from other media. Thank you! I already have a list of games I want to buy that you showcased.
The executives pistol is an energy weapon. Therefore no recoil. One of the benefits of energy weapons bro.
The original Executive Assault was rough as F+++ but it was a brilliant idea and a ton of fun in spite of it's roughness.
Very pleased to see this out and working.
Beautiful combat effects and nice detail with CEO being able to go anywhere.
Got that game on my wishlist for a looking time now. I'm very interested in Splats take on that.
I executive upvoted.
Thank you for the video, Splatt. I appreciate your hard work!
The picture of that CEO in the beginning looks like Holden from The Expanse and he's ready to fall out of his business suit.
Holy shit that changed so much, usually you started only as a station
The modular base building reminds me of earth 2160. I used to play that game a lot back in the day.
Thank you for the beast wars reference, makes me feel young again.
Excellent game, thanks Splatty
The game can honestly look amazing at times though.
Even when you're losing, the ground view of your ships, and turrets firing at enemy ships that are also shooting at your base just looks so cool. Even when you're losing, it can look so good lol
Sweet!
Love to see this game getting some love it is great!
Great video as always.
I used to adore executive assault! I totally forgot about this game!
Lots of cool ideas here
thanks man, i forgot this was one of the games i bought a new computer for...I haven't played this since 2018, and the first one around the same time, i've been wanting that star trek armada/starhawk experience for while now soimehow, this one was in my blind spot
There is a game called Machines - Wired for War (the source code for it has been published a few years ago!) which lets you both control the units in the RTS-style as well control any given unit in the first-person view. The thing is Machines was released in 1999. I've always thought that was one of the coolest features and hated that no other RTS has done that (at least I wouldn't be able to name one). It's pretty cool to see something similar here!
Battlezone 1 & 2 also does FPS / RTS hybrid
Also Uprising, or new one - Silica.
Thanks to both of you! I'll check them out :D@@zollinoSVK
Yes! I like the new upload schedule
i love this game i have played the hell out of Industrial. base layout is a little more important than at first glace. build your shipyards up at the space stations otherwise they are considered small shipyards and you can only build ships up to a certain size then it caps out
Thanks for the video.
What a pleasant surprise that this game is stillnin development, i bought it ages ago and it looked baren with barely any updates from devs, i ended up refunding it. Now it looks like they did an 180. Thank you for this video, imay buy the game.
Reminds me of Sins of a Solar Empire more than anything else. First person mode, though... I'd have to see it in action; I have no idea how much impact it might have.
This game would be 10x more fun with multiplayer co-op and specialized access to game control. Admirals, R&D and Salvage Tech, Zeno archaeology, astrobiology, Civil Engineering
Splatt, love your videos. Have you thought of trying out "The Last Ship". I played the demo and it is interesting.
Really like being able to watch the battles from inside the capital ship. Is there any other game that does that?
X4
Some VR games come to mind. BattleGroupVR for example. No economy to speak of though, but it's practically the best feeling of commanding a small fleet that I've ever experienced.
There's also an arena FPS (Think Quake 3 or Unreal tournament with tactical equipment and classes) That's mixed with a space fighting sim. If you're just looking for the chaos of such combat from first person perspective, it's great, but a bit faster. It's called "Angels Fall first".
Only high production that I know of is the already mentioned X4: Foundations
Angels Fall First.
It's a feeling I've desperately wanted for my whole life and unless you're willing to spend a ton of money on vr and tolerate the neck and eye strain it's not possible. Although another criminally underrated game is star trek bridge command it does have that feeling.
Battle Zone Commander
Now you should be a lot of friends doing this game as 1 corp XD
Hey this is my old account from 2013, its crazy seeing all old channels I used to watch
WOAH this game has changed a lot since I last played it.
You should check out this cool game called Spacebourne 2. It just came out in January, but it's single player and plays like Elite Dangerous/Star Citizen, Mass Effect, X4 and Stellaris all mixed up into a massive star system in Unreal Engine 4 with decent graphics.
Splattercat maximize!
I like the concept of this game. Polish it up a bit expand on the multiplayer You can get all crew of people running around in the base for you.
I might be a big fan of the idea of running around a base and ordering things up.
can't wait for this game to leave early access and play it for the firs time
It actually looks like a really Kewl game a lot of features going on that other Ty’s games don’t do
wow this looks really cool. A mash up of X4, Distant worlds, and Sins
when this is finished, this basically shouts "Battlestar Galactica Mod" :)
Good starter tutorial. Thanks!
Underrated game.
Looks like good old "Battle Zone" ☺
Would love a stream of this.
You know what, i can totally see this silly game being chaos levels of total annihilation in space coop+pvp tournament material. What a wonderful setting 🙂Gonna be my Friday night, digging youtube and see what kinds of chaos ppl are doing with this game out there 🤓 Wish i could give you like 10k likes and subs and shtuff for showing this!
I almost bought this and the prior one. Held back with low player count and AI competence. The concept is very interesting
Gotta love the generic human doing the tough crossarms to the chest.
And then we got a fucking robo-man in the next picture T-posing for dominance.
I wish you would upload those longer plays to UA-cam (maybe a second channel?), I'm not from your time zone so I rarely catch you streaming.
You from Israel?
@@christianpalmer Yes
As a fellow roofer I am gonna try out this game
"What are we going to do with all this nuclear waste ?
-just dump it within flying distance of the colony, it's fine "
I see future humans still use the same problem-solving method :D
This game is great ben following it sence the first one.
Executive Assault 1 was also fearly desent the end game units had the robots with martinis and such im hoping they add somthing like that agen its the little things
Yeah, the gigantic robot controlled by a robot drinking a martini was the ultimate flex.
Looks like it's come along a bit. For some reason reminds me of Conquest:Frontier wars
This game looks so awesome, adding it to my wish list for sure. Indie games are so nice and refreshing because a lot have really good core game ideas and features, and I don't have to deal with greedy MTX strategies like in some of my other games. But this one having combined arms, space battles, building, strategy, I'm very impressed they managed to put it all into one game. I agree on the FPS could be fleshed out, but I'm still just happy they included it. Maybe you could customize your soldiers like you can ships? Different classes and customizations to enable you make guys like snipers, or upgraded weapons with like red dots.
The core might be good, but most of the time everything else, graphics, animations or polish, is subpar.
And there is Infantry customization. You can research new weapons and stuff like personal shields or auto heal for them, depending on the faction you play as.
Yeay thx😁👍❤️
Sounds like a Seagal movie
reminds me of Battleship Midway game form the 360
Splat powah!
Man, those clones have seen some bad shit
Done right this could be peanut butter and chocolate. I do worry that the first person aspects might hold them back or at the very least slow them down.
Deducting when construction starts is way better
A very under hyped game the first executive assault wasn’t bad either but was just on the ground of a planet the concept was allready nice… one of steam best Hidden gems 💎
22:39 So it appears Splat can be punny without trying.
I was literally trying to see if that tear was my monitor.
Energy weapons sort of dont have any recoil, Cat :) that said, I still agree. It is very unsatisfactory with no physical manifestation of the discharge. Mass Effect made up a good enough excuse to use recoil on energy weapons.
Last time I played (long ago) it was still just made by 1 single DEV ? Is that still the case ?
I always love games where we play as a bad guy :)
Now bear in mind folks this is still early access, the first person mode will likely still get improved as will other things
All things considered it's a dope and impressive game
Have you ever tried Evochron Legacy? It's a bit older but seems like something you might like given all the space games you play.
This looks a lot like Submarine Titans
Weaponising nuclear waste, there is no morality in gaming.
Still early but this seems really suited for coop play
This is Battlecruiser 3000 AD. But it works.
This reminds me of genesis alpha one
sounds like Syndicate (1993 video game) just bigger?
I had pretty high hopes for that game when I first saw it around 2 years ago. But sadly it is only a 2D tactics game, with an additional ego perspective. Maybe if the character part is going to be fleshed out it could work for me. But I think that will not happen. It will just add in some ego shooter elements, instead of making roleplay in a sandbox world with a customisable station possible.
Costing me money again man!
seems like an easier version of X3? (well, with earlier graphics)
Shame the barge is not automated, I can imagin forgetting that all the time.
Will there be The Pale Beyond video? :)
This game makes me think about K240.
damn dude what time do you wake up to push these things out lol, anyways hope your well splatty.
Different time zones ;-)
Ater a whole 3:15 yeah it'd be nice to go straight to the gameplay experience.
Does this play anything like the old k240 amiga game?
wish they made a space pirate game
🖤
40:22 Or a spy balloon.
