One further benefit of both Pro 3s is that they both feel good whatever speed your moving at. I can transition from my slow long run pace up to 5k pace without any issue (caused by the shoe). Particularly useful if you blow up during a marathon or long run
100%
Thanks Fordy. The whole super shoe thing can be super confusing as a newbie! I think your answer of stability and versatility being key for everyday runners is bang on 🎯
Totally agree Chris! So glad to hear this!!! I'm a happy fan of you from Greece, an everyday runner and a Adios lover! Thank you so much for your reviews and videos! Cause of you I haven't "failed" in any shoe till now!! Thank you so much!
Greece! That’s mad! All the best to you
I so glad you picked these two shoes... I just did my NYC half earlier today with the Adidas Adizero 3 and they are by far my favorite running shoes, I also just got the Saucony Pro 3 a few days ago and can't wait to try them and see how good they are.
I have been waiting for you to do this video! Now I know where to go. Thanks for that.
I hope it helped
I have both. I get a little niggle in my left arch after 13 miles in the Adios Pro 3 that I don't get when wearing the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 so I am going to use the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 for London. I got both pairs on sale so I don't feel bad about having 2 carbon plated shoes in my shoe family. I swear by you and Believe in the Run for no nonsense shoe reviews. Thank you
Great content as always. I have both and love running in either - mostly races. I think in my UK 9 endorphin pro 3 is around 25g lighter than the adios pro 3.
Definitely with you hear. I got the saucony endorphins pro 3s on major discount, and they are worth every penny. Yes I use them more for training, but that’s because I don’t race much. Still super bouncy, I feel awesome in them, and I’m a total tortoise, so running 3min/km isn’t a requirement for enjoyment.
Excellent video Fordy. Thanks for the explanations.
Thanks a lot
You are so right !! Great video !!!! Will get my second pairs of adios pro 3 😅😅
Great video 👍Will defo check out the Adios Pro 3. What about the Asics Meta speed??
Great video mate. I totally agree with you
thanks alot really appreciated
I’m an every day runner and use the Adios Pro 3 for faster runs of any distance and just did my first 5k with them and 100% loved them! Got them for $185 USD. Might grab a second pair with the 4s come out at a bigger discount to have for the future
Great video Fordy. Hoping to get either the adidas pto3 or the saucony endorphin Pro 3
I agree. The Pro 3s are the everyday runner supershoes. It is crazy now that I think the Vaporfly is not enough cushion for the marathon distance considering I used to race a marathon in the adios 3 back in the days when that is the no.1 marathon shoes.😅
Fantastic video Fordy. I've been getting into plated shoes this year and have already managed to smash my half marathon PB by over 8 minutes at Cambridge.
Fantastic!
Of the shoes mentioned here, I have the VF2, PXS, AP3, and EP3, and I agree that AP3 and EP3 are the best all-rounders. But my fave is the PXS as it's so comfortable and fun for the long runs (10~20 miles), which I do twice per week. The only issue I have with the AP3 is the upper. It's hard to dial in the ideal balance between comfort and lockdown. The EP3 is really good but, to me, the ride isn't as engaging and fun as it is on the PXS and AP3. I think it comes down to the Lightstrike Pro foam and the overall fit that just seems to work better for my feet.
Chris, first to start off with I love people that are happy in their own skin and that’s you. With that being said your not afraid to say what you feel your opinion doesn’t dance around your opinion about a running shoe, I just learned more in this vlog than I did watching 5 others. You seriously help me make a month long decision thank you man keep it up.
Ah thanks bud I’m loving this ❤️
After having the cloudmounster and then a half priced speed 3, i am now in the search for an everyday or beginner but stable and wide carbon plated shoe. The speed 3 kinda fave me a taste of what ive been missing out on.
Great minds think alike Fordy . I purchased my Endorphin Pro 3s for 180 pounds 2 weeks ago. The fit of these shoes are just perfect for my feet. My first impressions of these shoes were outrageously good even at slower paces. The most important thing Fordy is the shoe is not controlling my foot strike im in charge of the shoe. I think it's the most fun ive ever had in a running shoe. A super review with sensible advice that will help others in their purchase.
Love this thank you
Wicked video, really helpful…a little shocked that Nike wasn’t in the final two..nice one Fordy 👍👍
Thanks Lee
Your choices are actually spot on. Good vid.
Thank you
I like my alphafly 2, but I got a nasty blister on my heel last marathon. Yes I'm an everyday runner (i.e. slower than andy FOD runner). I'm considering asic metaspeex sky+ or adios pro 3 or endorphin pro 3 for my next race. I own all of them and am thankful for that.
I just picked up a pair and really love them! I want to run in them all the time but don't want to wear them out. Your recommendations are bang on.
I love this
Got a fresh pair of Adios Pro 3 here waiting to be taken out this weekend. Picked them up last week for £157 from Start Fitness with your code and after watching your videos. Thanks!
booooooom! let me know on the livstream on monday how you get on with them
Another cracking video for the every day runner 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks Keith
Hi Fordy, going watch this shortly , as yes can be a battle choosing the right supper shoe, just a quick question if you don't mind, last year at Chester Marathon I ran in the Asics Metaspeed Sky+ & just missed out on a sub 3, so thought I would buy the Endorphin Pro 3, which I ran in them last weekend for a marathon in Paphos, Cyprus, but had lace issues being quite long, trying to get the right tension etc, anyway am about to run Manchester marathon, & was thinking of 2 things, either changing my laces from old my old Alphafly's, as like the grips on them laces, then basically putting them into my Endorphin Pros 3, can this be done you recon ?, or am thinking of going back to wearing my Asics Metaspeed sky +, , advice on this would be helpful, but no your a busy man, great to watch your vids, as your always honest & down to earth, keep up the good work 👍 🏃♂️
Exactly 2 shoes what I am on market for😂 you hit the nail Fordy💪🏻
Boom!
100% everyday runner here and I'm very glad to hear this since I just picked up a pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 3's (lightly used) for $50 USD! Felt great on my interval session this morning and now reflecting back realized that I felt better during the workout in these then I did previously in my Saucony Endorphin Pro 1's at 375 miles. Appreciate the best review as always!
good luck
Although I love the pro 1, the pro 3 is the far superior shoe. I just got a pair a few weeks ago. It’s simply amazing
And to add, yes the Saucony Pro 3 are excellent. Can’t believe I haven’t tried them sooner. All pacers in these.. it’s a banger!
love that .... BANGER!
Great review. I bought saucony pro 3 at the weekend after watching all your reviews back last week. Tried a long run in them last week going well in them and felt great only slight problem a had was a bilster on the bsck of one of my heels think itl just be getting used to them . Also tried a short run in them the morning and found them fab. Going do one more long run I them at the weekend but think I've defitnaly made the right choice . Great reviews
thank you and good luck
I got that on my first couple of longer runs in them. I now have two pairs with 280 to 310 miles on them which will help carry me through this current training block. Great shoes which I find a little on the soft side for me at the back end of a Marathon when my form goes and the wheels start to come off. The rubbing should disappear for you after a few runs.
Love the Maiden shirt..Run to the Hills! I had a feeling the Pro 3 would be the winner. I was hoping the Metaspeed Sky+ would be on the list for discussion
It’s not one I’ve touched maybe I’m thinking it should be on the list 🤔
Love my Endorphin Pro 3’s. Picked up a bargain on the speed 3 too, which is great but almost obsolete with the ‘every day super shoe’ pro
I agree wholeheartedly. The issue for me is which shoe is going to forgive my sloppy mechanics when I’m past 20 miles and well past three hours on course. That means a stable platform and cush in the forefoot to keep my feet from barking. I’ll be curious to hear what you think of the Rocket X2. I left comments with Believe in the Run and Run Like Heller on their reviews and they both think it is everyday runner eligible.
I’m hoping to get the rocket x2 so let’s see
Love the video. Cant wear most of these shoes....looking forward to the Speed Beast and trying to get em. Although i cant rock most of them....i can always rock an Iron Maiden shirt....well done.
thanks David much love
Hi Fordy thanks for the review, how do you think adios pro 2 compare to 3 ?
Different league
Hi Fordy, what sort of running pace do you class as an everyday runner. I think your analogy of both the adidas adizero adios pro 3 and saucony endorphin pro 3(my favourite) is 100% spot on as they can comfortably go from warm up pace to race pace. I’ve used quite a lot of the other shoes and you just can’t warm up in them. I normally warm up in easy day shoe then swap over to a carbon plated super shoe except for my endo pro 3’s. I’m currently trialling the wave rebellion pro’s. Keep up the great work and humour that you bring to your reviews👍
Thanks so much! It’s not a pace more a mentality… from people getting off the couch to get to 5k to those busting a gut to run a time at a marathon! Fitting it all in with life and it’s ups and downs
Spot on 100% Saucony Pro 3 works for me better than alphafly 1 I had and this is because I am an average everyday runner I believe, not really to do with the alphafly. I do have the takumi sen 8 which works for me at track nights and 5k so would love to try out adidas pro 3s
its such a good shoe
Average runner at 6ft, 200 lbs, Got the Endorphin Pro 3 for the upcoming LA marathon. US size 12.5 feels right for me, while other size 12 shoes are fine.
So far did three runs in them, one each weekend before the event - slow 20 something miles, racing effort half marathon distance (107 min), and comfortable 10 miles - total of 40 miles, all of them on the track. (Yes, that's a lot of laps, but trying to keep an abdominal muscle injury in check, so no running on streets until after the marathon).
Being used to running in simpler, low to the ground shoes - my favorite is Skechers Razor 3 plus - I find the Pro 3 interesting, but not easy to adjust to. My only disapointment is that after these 40 track miles, there already is visible wear on the outer heel outsole rubber piece.
Guess I was heel striking even though conciously trying not to, but I did a lot of miles during these weeks, so I was tired. Still, for someone of my weight, the Endorphin Pro 3 may not last much longer than 100-150 miles.
Agree 💯…. Adios pro 3 🔥🔥
all day long
ey Fordy, watching from Trinidad (Caribbean)~. Still use my Adios Pro 2.
Hero!!! Trinidad 🇹🇹 that’s amazing thanks so much for watching
Fordy, How long can you store running shoes? I love the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 and I want to stock up on a sale!
Agree with both of your choices with the Pro 3 and Adios Pro 3. I do like the ASICS Metasky also which wasn’t reviewed
Thanks Andrew … Simon loves that shoe .. I might try the Edge
Can’t disagree with Adios Pro 3. Awesome shoe at all paces.
Didn’t get on the Endorphin Pro 3. Loved the 1 but the foam/plate combo in the 3 hurt my feet!
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Deviate Nitro Elite 1 as an entry to carbon plate shoes for runners of any level. Raced it at marathon, half and 10 miles and does a great job. Not the absolute fastest but a great ride. Love it for long runs and even easy paces. If the conditions are a bit ropey it comes into its own too with the awesome grip! Ran a 10 mile PB in a snow and slush fest where the Vaporflys would have seen me on my arse!
Nice vid Fordy. Love my pro 3 but have to admit the Mizuno trump it for me. Just did a 10mile race last weekend and got a 3 min PB. I find them great at all paces like the pro 3.
Congrats mate
@@FordyRuns thank you ☺️
Ok firstly, Maiden, oh yes!!!
Secondly, awesome review. I’m hoping to stretch into the super shoe world soon, even at my slightly wide-footed, turgid pace.
Finally, really excited to see what you think of the Hoka Rocket x 2 (Hoka fan here) After being awful so far, Hoka seem to have smashed itself into the super shoe world with gusto if the early reviews are anything to go by.
Memo to Hoka, send this fella a pair. Enquiring minds want to know.
Thanks bro! I don’t have a relationship with pro direct running so won’t be getting the shoe unfortunately I’ll source else where and give the usual unbiased review. Thanks a lot I appreciate it
‘Weapon of mass destruction’ 🤣🤣🤣
I agree.
Adidas adizero adios pro3+ prime x for me, good video again as always
Cheers Fordy. I’m moving up into the ultra distance next year and wonder if you have a recommendation for that distance. BTW, I’ll be looking to finish in a reasonable state, I won’t be threatening the podium. 😂
Superblast
I just for the Endorphin Speed 3's and I will for sure be getting the Endorphin Pro's
I sent back the Wave Rebellion Pro after only 5k in them! I just can't seem to get on with any shoe that has massive chunks missing from the midsole. I struggle with the Prime X as well unfortunately. Personally for me the best "super shoes" that I have and love are the Saucony Pro 3 which I use up to the HM distance, and anything over that I'm in the v1 Alphafly because that is my all time favourite shoe ever 😊
It’s very aggressive the Mizuno
I either have or did have most of those shoes.
And my favorite was the Saucony endorphin pro 3. And the main reason why I would say it the endorphin pro 3 is the winner of all these shoes is because it's a show that can fit pretty every type of foot. Majority of the other super shoes can't fit everyone foot especially people with wide or flat feet.
Fair play and good points
Superb video Chris as ever, I'd actually say that, if you can still get some, the Vaporfly Next% version 1 is the best super shoe for the everyday runner, I just can't get on with the Endorphin Pro 3 to my disgust and prefer my Vaporfly Next% 2 (which I managed to get for £100)
Go with whatever works mate
Agree thinking of you adios bro three things of brand new ones that email for like 150 US.
Also the Atreyu Artist but have the original base. Model not a big fan of the firm midsole. Artist might be different (but $100). I also wish Skechers would come out with something besides that little H plate which time I checked it out I couldn’t go over there or not.
Great video
loving the feedback todd thanks a lot
Got both Pro 3s and I agree both great shoes. I feel Adiós is slightly better for longer stuff for me and Saucony great for 10k races. I've got the Mizuno (still unused yet but planning a 10k on flat straightish course for that as is aggressive). I've got the prime x strung recently and I'm starting to think that is turning into my favourite and may make my marathon cut!!
Do you use the X strung for everyday training or race too?
@@SirThomas1212 having put more miles into it I would not use in a race, too unstable for me especially in fast corners
Just picked up the Nb elite v3... First run tomorrow. Feel great on the feet and the London color way is v good looking 👀,,,,, feel on the feet and walking around is great 10k hit out tomorrow then parkrun Saturday.
I do love the pxs and probably will get vf3 at some point.
let me know on the livestream on monday how you got on with them
@@FordyRuns OK if I'm available as in Australia 🇦🇺
Fordy, my halfmarathon pace is around 5:35min/km. Would you say, at that pace, does it even matter to have a "supershoe"? (Last one i ran in nimbus 25). Many reviewers never talk paces or their bodyweight, but ive learned that those factors play a big role when it comes to shoechoice.
Got Alphafly 1 and Endorphin Pro 3 and so far love the Pro 3!
winning combo
I dfisagree, Fordy. I have three of these and for my money, I go with Puma deviate Nitro Elite hands down. I'd rather feel great the entire run than shave 30 and have my feet hurt... The Puma is fast and hella comfortable and will probably last twice as long as these other more expensive shoes!
It’s a great shoe I love it but like I said the stack is a little bit too low for me
The Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 does it for me too. I also like the Puma Deviate 2 a lot for my training sessions. Do we see you at the start of the Rotterdam Marathon?
Not this year I’m afraid it’s on the bucket list
I have the adidas pro 3, got on clearance, it is such a great shoe. For everyday running It's about a 30s / mile faster than novablast incredible for me.
So right
Not seeing it for under 200. Where are these deals?
Bang on - I managed to bag a pair of Adios Pro 3 for £117 - I was slightly concerned as it is supposed to be a long distance shoe but I took it to Yarborough parkrun and took a full minute off my PB - I start a run with a smile on my face nevermind finish 😊
£117!!!!!! Great work
Where?
I know it’s controversial but I love the NB fuel cell SC Elite. Found the Saucony Pro 3 really narrow, but the SC ElIte give you effortless energy return and you can do all the tempo work in them as well.
If it works it works
Not tried these but I love the Fuel Cell SC 💚
@@clairhardywynn5620 Amen 🙌🏻
I am new to running, I have only done 3 proper races. I love running the 10k distance and each time have finished 49mins (no training) - (I don't know if that is a good time) as I say I am very new... My current shoe is the saucony Endorphin Speed 3, they are good but not great and I am looking for a shoe with that added sauce, what would you suggest for me please
I have started training now though as I want to push for those elite times, eventually. My next race is on May 7th 🏃
I love running and I love the community once I started I was hooked
I agree. 😂 Pro 3 for the win 😂! Picking up a pair of Pro 3’s for two 1/2 marathons
Super shoes PLUS Iron Maiden! YES!🔥
🤘
I like the Vaporfly but over tenk very uncomfortable for me - just ran a half in them - pr’d but feet felt squashed and uncomfortable from half way. I love my endorphin speeds and am keen to try out the pros but is the toe box narrow? The Vaporflys are too narrow I think for me so comparatively ? In Ireland here btw . Stumbled across you guys by accident - have just figured out when your messing around or serious 😃
I really struggle with the Endorphin Pro 3. I find it really unstable and doesn't like slow paces. It feels too much like the Alphafly for me, which is something I don't get on with either. I haven't used the Adios Pro 3 but am interested in getting some. For me, the Vaporfly Next% 2 does everything really well. Long, slow, fast, tempo and I find it the most comfortable. The super shoe I most want to try though is the New Balance SC Elite v3.
Try the adidas I think you’ll like
Can confirm that the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 is very stable compared to the Endorphin Speed 3.. Haven't tried the elit
It’s all very confusing and so very expensive. Love the content Fordy!
I have precisely the same feeling about the vaporfly for me, I did a 10k with it and felt good, but not sure if I would go to the half marathon or marathon with it.... I have a half marathon race in a week (Hannover) and I'm still deciding between Alphafly v1 and endorphin pro 3 that I have here....probably I'll try the endorphin pro 3, as it is newer and I never raced on it... trying to reach close to 1:39-40 (my pb is 1:40:58 from April 2022 using the new balance rc elite v2... and in august did 1:43:00 in Alphafly v1 in not fully flat race)
Give them a try and let me know
I'm just deciding between the adidas pro 3 and the saucony pro 3 for this year's races. Whichever I buy neither will be pink. 😆
I think of super shoes like super cars. So latest and best tech as well as being fastest in the brands line up. So alphafly is definitely a supershoe and arguably the prime x has to be as well.
im loving the adidas in the mint
What are the best shoes for flat footed runners please
@fordy runs Love your reviews. For us pronators, what would you consider the most stable of the super shoes. Adios pro3, Boston 10/11, new balance sc elite? Or are we better stick to the saucony tempus or something.
Prob the adidas
@@FordyRuns thanks a mill for reply
Hey Chris, great info. I'm an average runner (1:45 HM) going for my first marathon and I have run HM in the AF V1 and the Next% without problems; however my running technique over the distance is far from being good. I was planning on getting the Prime X Strung, but people told me I was crazy. With your experience running in it for a whole marathon distance, do you think that I can run in it at a pace of 8:47 and not die trying? Thanks!
Do it! It’s a great shoe at marathon pace
I think you're spot on there Fordy but surprised that the New Balance Sc Elite 3 wasn't mentioned.
Agree with this, Fordy doesn’t seem to rate New Balance that much. I love the SC Elite and the SC Trainer.
It’s the fuel cell I just can’t get on with it in increased stack it … they are not bad shoes infact opposite they just don’t work for me sadly
What a t-shirt. love it
defo!
Chris, which of the Pro 3’s do you recommend for better stability?
Adidas for me
Fantastic review, but my favourite super shoe os Puma Fast-r!
That’s awesome!!!
Hi everyone. Excellent review, Fordy. Here is my like. My vote goes to Saucony Endorphin speed 3. Have a great day. 🌤️🏃🌞
Thank you
I have the endorphins 3 s and i ran them in the ground for every tipe of run fast and slow. 400+miles i think. Race day the next%s any model 10k and up. I just recieved my second pair of the pros 3.
Awesome
I live at Puerto Rico my bro 😎🇵🇷🙏🏻😉 great vid 😀
So cooooool! Thanks a lot
@@FordyRuns its a small island 100x35 😉
should you hold off on buying a super shoe as some what of a beginner? Or is it fair to get one at any point
Spot on
Thanks Chris
Just got myself a 2nd pair of the Adios Pro 3 for the Manchester marathon. 😁
Good luck
For me it the RC elite v2 from New Balance. For me fits perfectly and can do everything in it. And got it for £100
Bargain
I agree I do prefer the Alphafly 1.. I like the 2. I got some 2’s for £161 from Nike
if it works it works!
Just ran a marathon in the original PrimeX, I’m not an elite and it worked well for me. Unstable but plenty of cushion for my 51 year old legs. I think the Vaporfly is the original super shoe, was improved in the 2nd iteration and offers the great usability across various races. For those unfamiliar though, the Nike Vaporfly is a strange fitting shoe that is far different from a daily trainer. Also NO ASICS Fordy? Meta Speed Sky? Magic Speed? ASICS has been killing it…
I use the Takumi Sen 8, now I know there not the full super shoe as it’s not fully Carbon, but as a normal every day runner who’s only long distance interest is a 1/2 marathon. I find them to be absolutely perfect. From speed sessions, to 5/10k race days and even pushing them to the half marathon distance, and now that you can pick them up for less than £100 for me there ideal.
Good shout
Love my Sen 8's for half marathon distance. Brilliant.
Ran PBs in the 5k and 8k at age 48 this year in the Takumi Sen and a near PB in the half marathon. I'm even going to wear them in Boston next month. It is my favorite shoe of all time. 5 stars
@@RunTommy123 Good to hear. Think I may add another pair to the collection.
@@RunTommy123 amazing well done. I’ve already smashed my 5k pb in them. Hoping once a batch of pneumonia I’ve got clears I can smash my 10k best in them too
I miss the Altra Vanish Carbon in comparisons like this. Not the most durable outsole on the current version, but it's just a lovely light and playfull shoe.
Saw someone wearing them today funny enough
The only super we need is you, Fordy. 💎
Hero
Whats your take on the ASICS "supershoes" (Sky+ & Edge+? Noticed you didnt have one onboard.
not worked for me ALTHOUGH Mr Kofuzi said to try the Edge+ so lets see maybe we give that a try if I can get them cheap
How is the Adios Pro 3 in compared to the Saucony Pro 3 ?
I have the Saucony Pro 3 at the moment, I think it's pretty good too, but the Adidas would tempt me.
Which of the two shoes would you recommend for a 4min 45sec pace per km for a marathon?
Either will be good
Have you even tried the NB SC Elite 2? It’s definitely a super shoe for the everyday runner
Yep we’ve had the SC Elite on the channel. Fuel cell don’t really work for me but it works for many
Agree Adios Pro3 is king🏃👑
I got a pair of the Endorphin Pro 3s off a friend who had only run 80km in them, 42 of which were the LM22, they weren't quite wide enough for him, so 'sold' them to me for £100 donated to his favourite charity. They are quick and took minutes off my 5k time last month. I'm unsure as to whether I will use them rather than my Speed 3's for this years LM as I did a 16-mile race in them 2 weeks ago and my feet were absolutely killing me at the end although I did run 15 minutes quicker than I predicted. I want to enjoy it and I can say after 22 miles in the Speed 3s my feet just didn't hurt.
Here you see my quandary - do I run faster and have sore feet, or trundle in feeling fan-dabby-dozy?? I've not tried the Adidas and not going to spend more dosh on more shoes - yet!! Maybe after LM if the price of the Adidas comes down a bit I could be tempted. Great take on all of the shoes and you're right, there are bargains to be had when the next gen shoe pops up!
I had numbness in my foot and pains in my quads in a half race... so opted for the VP2 for this weekends marathon. Will def use the pro3 upto 10k
Have you tried the metaspeed sky plus? What are thoughts on it?
nah we got simon in those and he loves them... might try the edge after Kofuzi recommended them to me on the podcast
@FORDY RUNS yes I have heard good things of the edge too. Definitely worth a try.
The Nitro Elite 2 can be probably classified as a “super trainer” . Seems like that’s a new avenue for shoes these days, and one that’s more usable by the general population
good shout
Fantastic review Boss and I could not agree more regards the Adios Pro 3’s, I stuck mine under you nose in the big tent at Cambridge.
As you have said, bloody excellent when you put some energy through them but equally good pacing Wifey 90sec/per mile slower than my HM PB pace.
I’ve said it before but the ‘tick’ is losing ground to the three stripes in terms of performance, fun factor and date I say quality as well.
Cheers again, Hugs Pitch
Good lad
I got my Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 in a flash sale for around £125 and set my fastest half marathon best by over 5 mins from previous best in 2016
That’s what I’m talking about
Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 probably the best choice for the first super shoe.
totally agree
