Love my Alpha 2s, but definitely agree that it is much more of a “marathon only” type of shoe now. They don’t get much action outside of long runs with marathon efforts and the race itself. Vaporfly 3 is a much more versatile shoe.
I really love the Vaporfly 2, but I'd be tempted to try out some of the other brands over the Vaporfly 3/Alphafly 2. It seems for the Alphafly things are always great the second time around. Anyway got to dash, I'm off to visit Auntie Rose in Clacton.
Let's give credit where credit is due. Little Richard got his musical style and looks from Esquerita, r&b singer, songwriter and pianist whom he met on a bus when he was 13. And also Billy Wright known as " Prince Of The Blues " who helped Little Richard get his first record deal. With all that said, he was definitely a trailblazer. He had a huge influence on Jimmy Hendrix, who played in Little Richard's band the Upsetters.
With the blackfriday I saw the alphafly with a big discount, even cheaper than the new vaporfly for almost 100$, with that in mind should i go with the alpha or vapor
I see the remarks on the Alphafly V1 and it breaks my heart.. I can't run in the 361. I am a heel striker so I feel like I run in NEGATIVE Drop.. Killing my calfs and Achilles tendon. No problem with the Vaporfly V2.. Tempted by the Alphafly V2 as it has normal drop. ❓
Completely opposite for me between the vaporfly and alphafly in every version and every use as well as how feet and body feels after any race at any distance..as you say Edd that's what makes the world go round..as an aside there are better 5k and 10k racing shoes available..
It "Really" depends on the runner. People like "Kipchoge" Like "Thic" , and "Chonky" shoes (Alphaflys). But people like mo farah, or "kelvin kiptum" Prefer a more "simple" and Less cushioned design (Vaporflys). so in conclusions... There is no perfect shoe. (Like everything in life... Everything has pros and cons)
Absolutely loving the VF3 - I didn't enjoy the VFNext 1 or VFNext 2. I did enjoy the VF4%FK though. Everything about the VF3 just suits me so well. I have done a Half, a 5 and a 10k in them and its just sublime. The upper is great also. AF2 I just couldn't manage.
Edd, did you watch the Comrades Marathon? Interesting shoe podium. All three men wore the VF3 The women was a mix, first place was the Adios Pro 3, second place was the AF1 and third was the Asics Meta Speed (I think)
I’m opting for trail shoe for durability for my training. Shoe would last to a thousand miles for certain models. Only buying race day shoe for the race day to save some.
Ed, do you not think that the foams in the Alphafly 1’s are now decreasing in performance due to their age? I am tempted to buy an Alphafly 1 on Stock X, but am worried about decreased performance compared to when the shoe was new. What are your thoughts? Thanks
That’s not a bad shout. Though I have shoe which seem ok over time but I’m careful how I store them. It’s possible zoomx will degrade without use in a box but until we have some hard evidence it’s unclear.
Love the AF2. AF1 did not work for me. Prefer VF1 over VF2. The VF2 gives me heel abrasions. Haven’t tried VF3. In my opinion, the weak spot on AF2 is the bad grip on some surfaces when wet.
I've got the Alphafly V.1 and had all versions of the Vaporfly, I have to say that, right now, I'd go Alphafly as the Vaporfly 3 hasn't floated my boat as yet (must admit that I've only done around 20 miles in them so far)
It is interesting the Vaporfly 3 is the more stable shoe, that is the one thing I didn't like about the Vaporfly 2 was how wobbly it felt at a lower pace
Hm can u make a series on fake vs real , cuz these shoes are hella expensive. And there are alot of people who keep telling me fakes are almost as good as the real ones . Like 99 percent good . Like spending 30 dollars vs 200 . Is it really worth it . Fake ultraboost and nike Pegasus vs the real ones . In terms of comfort and just running your average 5km . Nothing excessive .
Hi Edd! Great comparison! I'm sticking with Vaporfly Next Percent 2. I hope to continue to find them! Thanks for the comparison and thoughts about the latest offerings to the previous versions!
Still waiting on the vaporfly 3s to go on sale. Not really eager to have them if I'm paying retail. Alphafly, can't praise them enough. Love using those on my triathlon races. Agree on the laces. No need to lace them coz it's a struggle to get them on. Hahaha
@@ryydii from the Philippines my friend. I'm actually waiting on the hoka Rocket X2. I'm more excited to try those on than the vaporfly 3s. And my 2s are still good. Only have less than 40kms on them. Never used them for any races actually. I only use them mainly for brick training.
@@EDDBUD very true and even if your tired and your steps are becoming a lil bit sloppy they're forgiving. Unlike the prime X those are different every foot step should be correct. No room for error or else.... Haha 😆
I got the alpha 1. The most amazing shoe. Not a big fan of vapor 1. Alpha 2 a bust. No pop Adidas pro 3 way better. Nike really played us don't think I'll try alpha 3 until 4 comes out
This is the dilemma I' ve had for every race since March: Vapor 3 or Alpha 2? I actually really like the Alphafly 2, unlike you. Have had bad and good runs in both...
I’m gonna try the Vapor 3 but can’t get a 9.5 anywhere at the moment, I wouldn’t Piss on the alpha 2 if it was on fire absolute brick, the alpha 1 is the greatest shoe every made still using 2 pairs with over 700 miles. Nike didn’t like that runners were using the alpha for everything from 5k to the marathon and thought nah nah nah, we will try and make them buy the alpha, the Vapor and the streakfly, fucking streakfly 😂😂😂, bastards, excuse my French
Eddbud coming in clutch for the 3am upload. Just can't sleep tonight 😭
Hope you get some rest 🥉
Love my Alpha 2s, but definitely agree that it is much more of a “marathon only” type of shoe now. They don’t get much action outside of long runs with marathon efforts and the race itself. Vaporfly 3 is a much more versatile shoe.
You could race any distance in the vf3.
@EDDBUD what is the differences with the invisible 3 ?
Nike stopped trying after the peg turbo 2. I'll stick to adios pro 3
The pro 3 is a great shoe. If you like it try the Adios 8 as it’s similar in fit but less stack.
2 big hitters Mr Bud... But 2 very different beasts for different peeps, and like you say, most are probs better seeking out the previous models.
It’s hard to recommend either with both going for less cash. 👍🏼

I thought she had moved?! 👍🏼 Would you like some apple pie?
@@EDDBUD 😂
EddBud, love your posts! Very instructive. I’ve found that the Alphaflys run ½ size smaller. True?
Not all but I read the af3 was a bit short and they were right!
Defo 100% alphafly OG!!
Both new vape and new alpha feel muted to me! Buy up the old alphas!! 👊🏼
In truth, I'd be totally happy if Nike just sold the VF1 all this time. It felt very special.
Yeah it’s never been bettered
Same with the Alphafly V1. It's the Lunaracer all over again. V1 was awesome, it went to V4 which was just terrible.
@@EDDBUD Agree

Awesome! Thank you!

❓
I don’t think there’s much difference in the drop. I think Nike are being a bit “creative” with their measurements.
Hello, these or the invisible 3 are softer ?
Thank you
Invincible is softer but about 110g heavier.

There’s even more range than that in terms of non elite runners.
Neither of them. Man! I am disappointed in the VF 3; I have narrow feet, and their fit is wicked :/. I still have a few VF 1; I run in them every day

Interesting maybe the lighter shoe benefiting the lighter frames?

That’s not a bad option. My routes are a little varied in surface opportunity so always consider it from that point of view anyway
i buy running shoes for ... walking. And for the outfit, i choice Alphafly, i like Alphafly's design.
Well it’s certainly cushioned for that purpose!

Yeah the forefoot of the 3 is more stable. But the upper does it no favours.
hav both, but still prefer my tempo next %, maybe because im physically heavy person
I like those too but I’m lighter

Is the alphafly 2 wider than the vaporfly?
A tiny bit yes. The 3 is wider again in the forefoot.
Also, when is that ultrafly trail coming?
I think it’s due in July by all accounts. Nike have been spamming the regular channels with those.
I am getting the alphafly v1 ASAP. Nike should bring them back 😮
Maybe they will retro them?!

Watching before bed 🔥
Just up and at em for me. We are making lego towers! 🥈
I’d kill for those proto colorway Vaporfly 3s
Cleaned them up and they look a bit more like they did out the box
For those interested with the alphafly 2, hold it off a little while. The alphafly 3 is coming next month.
Next month ?? That soon ?
Ed you have to do alpha 3 review
Not yet

The alphafly 2 is just too much shoe for me. Though I love the ride of the primex. That is the best ultimate cushion shoe.
With the weight difference larger than before the Vf3 is a better multi distance option
@@EDDBUD It is pretty bulky, totally agree. But it just glides along so nicely. Always find to be running much faster than it feels like.
