Great video Matthew. Playing in this place with this team is incredible. The amount of material we are given to practice prepares us for a great worship experience. Great church, great worship team great equipment and that all comes from great leadership. Thank you Matthew, Steve and Pastor Dan.
Worship is not an experience. Was the early Church not worshipping God? - because I assure you they had no light show and no rock band. They were not cool. Most were killed. Church was not COOL ! That is a Millennial twisting of scripture and Church history. First sign of real persecution and these Churches would cave and run for the hills.
Man I love your videos you are doing a great job. So unfortunately my church got burnt down with everything in it about 3 weeks ago here in Ghana, we are planning on building a new church which will be bigger and better than the old one. Your videos are giving me a whole lot of ideas. Thanks
Love watching these Tech tours. As a lighting engineer I would love to see a what the lighting guys are doing for set up throughout the week and maybe the process of doing a stage design/ redesign.
Excellent video and it was great to see the value of the church spending time in the planning/design phase and how it directly impacts the possibilities for the weekly services, finding both good cost-effective and intelligent technical solutions for each part.
The church host uses his gift to communicate. That’s why it’s so hard for him to talk. He has more words in his head than he’ll ever say out of his mouth. His actions speak for him more than his words ever will. He doesn’t dislike people, he just doesn’t like talking to them. He reminds me…of me.
I’m a lighting director at a mega church in southeastern Michigan. I love all the automation stuff with OSC and ableton but honestly it stresses me out just thinking about it lol. At my church we basically man everything, CG op, band leader fires ableton, I run lighting live off the console. Crazy to see all this stuff developing in my lifetime. Keep up the great content!
What a great video! Would love a bumper tutorial on how to use Ableton with touch OSC and the iConnectivity network interfaces as a whole system and how to integrate with lighting.
Even in the U.S, Calvary's tech is very high end. It's close to Hillsong, Elevation, Bethel, and other large churches. By 24:00, their cables, racks, speakers (including the subwoofers), microphones, the 3 main screens, and other things (not even considering the building itself) alone is $120,000+. I mean, it's a great experience, but there _is_ a point at which you begin to wonder whether it is too superfluous. It's difficult discussing megachurches and huge $$$, because on one hand, the quality of a Sunday morning is insane, but on the other hand, it may cause people to view Sunday morning as a show, for people to consume. There might be something more biblical behind this, and this is my opinion, Im interested in what other people think about it
@@Henle_ As a pastor I'm constantly trying to improve the quality of our services but there were times when I just had to say that we are not spending more money on gear while some people in church don't have wood to heat their homes during winter. This is just the reality in Eastern Europe where we have to make a healthy balance. But I also think big western churches are important in the body of Christ because they can pioneer stuff and set benchmarks that we can implement in the future.
Also also I think more churches should realize that if you supply a small church somewhere in Euro-Asia or Africa with a few good mics or an instrument you are helping them more then sending a short term mission team for the fraction of a price. Just something to ponder about.
@@arpadjszabo to reiterate what Henle said, most churches even in the U.S. aren’t like this, so don’t be discouraged by this! It is awesome they have the blessing to utilize what they can, and even smaller churches can borrow ideas here and there as the funds are fit!
@@Henle_ It is a show. They basically tell us that. God never had light shows and tech for over 2000 years but now, if you listen to the staff of these Churches, they clearly call all of this and cool rock songs as WORSHIP. our church has the same thing we converted our snake into cat 5 digital to the board. we have 96 input snake. but our wireless mics are deemed local plugs right into the back of the board.
Love these tech tours! Especially when in my neck of the woods! Hopefully there could be a tour of Christ Fellowship in Palm Beach Gardens including their film team studio
Avantis is not a $10k console. It's now $13,500 to start. If you add D-Pack, that's another $1500. If you added both Waves and a Dante card, it's about another $5000 for both.
I kept noticing QSC touch panels throughout the tour. I implement a touch-screen power sequencing interface, but I'm curious how others do it. How things are power sequenced is often something that isn't talked about in these tours and generally not a big consideration in small to medium sized churches. Yet it is a major part of making our churches tech-user-friendly. Hopefully we can get a video walking through power on and off on one of these Worship Tech Tours. Great video! Would love to see more

I like the fact that they have a good camera as the main one. But seriously guys, PTZ cameras? Those are the worst type of camera you can get. My advice as the Director of AVL at a church. Get a few tripods that can raise up high in the back of the church, stick a good camera on top with a long lens and your be fine. Using PTZ cameras is a terrible idea. Sorry, but I've learned that the hard way
Love the new way technology is working and how churches are evolving but I feel like once you have a certain schedule and specific instructions for songs you loose the feeling of the spirit and worship.
