Note: I had to edit out multiple plays that dealt with Mafe's versatility, either Rushing the QB or dropping in coverage. The TD he allowed to Robinson against Washington, and a couple other Pass Rush wins. UA-cam cited those plays for usage, so I had to edit them out.

Coach, outstanding content as usual!! I'm always here for Seahawks videos!!
Macdonald seems to be impressing at OTAs, w/focus on teaching and understanding concepts on both offense and defense. At yesterday's open OTA session, buzz was JSN's 5 TDs from Geno Smith against Spoon (with Macdonald saying afterwards that defenders at disadvantage with limitations to contest catches).
    Seahawks suggestions:
    • JSN's emergence in the latter half of the year
    • How Byron Murphy could be used in a Justin Madubuike "type" role as more athletic DT
    • Bigger DE roles w/Dre'mont Jones supposedly converting to OLB this year and playing on the edge
    • Macdonald's Defensive system differences between outside corner vs. slot corner, as several smaller CBs on roster - DJ James 170 lbs, UDFA Carlton Johnson 175 lbs, Tre Brown and Spoon around 180 lbs and bigger guys outside like Woolen & Mike Jackson at 210 lbs, etc.
Thank you! I am posting on social media!

Hey, I didn't mean it to come across that way. So my apologies that the presentation gave that impression. Certainly was not the focus of the video nor something that I wanted to quietly include at all. I'm not that kind of fan of my team, especially once the season is over and we didn't win the Super Bowl ourselves.

Good points. After Nwosu went out due to his injury, our edge rush suffered a lot. I think with a healthy Nwosu back, Boye is going to LEAP in his third year under Mike. Plus with Byron Murphy, Jarren Reed, and Leonard Williams in the middle this D line is going to feast.

“On Defense we have a lot of young players that many analysts are either overlooking or underestimating.”
Coach Mike McDonald is young too.
So this can go 2 ways. Players will relate to him. Understanding that they must work hard in order to keep him around. (Coaching in the NFL means “Not For Long” if you’re not successful). OR they will embark on this journey “with” him, taking each step, appreciating that what they are experiencing is new. It’s a fresh start. Like Coach Mike, these players have to prove they can play at this level. Young coach, young players, there’s no room to second guess. This is their shot. Nobody is going to care how old or young they are. The ONLY thing that matters is winning.
Sure, they can use this 1st year as a “learning” experience . Use being young and inexperienced as an excuse. Push the “we have so much potential” narrative. Explain that we must be patient. Good things are happening. Blah, blah, blah blah….. NO! That’s NOT a championship mentality. Seahawks are good NOW! We will NOT take ANY loss lightly. We expect to win every game from here on out. We are NOT going set our goal just to reach the playoffs. NO! We are looking past all of the things that fall short of our goal. THE SUPER BOWL! A championship! We will NOT count ourselves out because we are young. We will NOT accept being overachievers. NO! We really BELIEVE!!! We BELIEVE that we have the BEST offense. We BELIEVE in our defense!! We BELIEVE in our coach and our QB. We understand that most people will doubt us. They will talk bad about our QB. They will criticize our coach. They will certainly not agree with us when we say, “The Seahawks have something brewing up. There’s something special about this team. The vibe is overwhelming. It’s contagious. They really BELIEVE that they are the best team in the NFL right now! They are capable of beating ANY team they play.
    This team is different.
The offense has elite talent. Possibly the best WR group in the NFL. It’s very possible that records that were once safe are in trouble. DK is special. Lockett is
“Mr. Clutch.” He’s consistent and dependable. JSN is exactly what we thought he was. A Star ⭐️!! Bobo has proven himself as a great red zone 🎯 target. He demands attention! He’s even better in 3rd down situations. The Seahawks may just have the best receivers in the NFL. Unstoppable ! At TE they have a stud! Fant is an athletic freak! He will be open on almost every play in Grubs offense. Teams will find it very difficult to cover these guys. Now put K-Mac in the game. The best receiving back in football. 🏈 Try to cover them. Geno is the most accurate QB in football. He throws the deep ball in the NFL. No question! With protection Geno goes from being good to being elite! With this new and improved offensive line, Geno will put up numbers that will blow your mind. In this Grub offense, Geno will lead the NFL in QBR, yards, TD’s, accuracy, TD:INT ratio(15:1).
By midway through the season the Seahawks will have made believers of many. By the end of the season, there will be no doubt. Did I mention K-9 and Charbonet? They are the prototype Thunder and Lightning ⚡️ backfield duo! BOTH are capable of 1000 yard seasons. BOTH are explosive.🧨 Each has their own strengths. They complement each other like coffee and cream. In Grubs high octane offense he uses his RB’s to wear a defense down . He uses them to get them out of position. Grub doesn’t do the pitch count where he has a set amount of runs he has to call. He allows the run game to develop during the game. You won’t see the wasted plays where a run is called and the defense knows it’s a run. Grub does not do that. He puts his runners 🏃 in the best position to be successful. The Seahawks offensive identity their receivers. They are a passing. team. PERIOD. When teams adjust to this they play an extra defensive back. This opens up the run. Coach Grub will certainly take what you give him! K-Mac is probably the best fit in Grub’s offense. His ability to block and catch balls from out of the backfield makes this Seattle offense impossible to stop.
None of this is possible if we can’t out an offensive line on the field that can block. Without proper protection Geno will not succeed. This Grub offense becomes average at best. This line is very young. We added the veteran, George Fant . We drafted a promising OG. We have 2 third year starters at the tackle spots. We have a promising prospect at center. We have Forsythe as our back up tackle. We added veterans in free agency to stabilize this group of young players. THE SUCCESS OF THIS TEAM WILL DEPEND ON THIS OFFENSIVE LINE!!!

Thanks for the video on Mafe. Last year, leading up to the start of regular season, I predicted 2023 would be the Year of Mafe and Colby Parkinson (got a big bag of cash in Free Agency) for the Seahawks. Can't wait to see what MacDonald has planned for Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu this year. Your Ravens were very tough last year, no shame in losing to Mahomes (Brady 2.0). Your defense held Mahomes to 17 points. Hope your offense improved and these two teams meet in the playoffs.

They left him unblocked on the majority of the bootlegs, either bad play design or poor execution because any edge or DE with discipline isnt going to pursue the play to the opposite side that hard and give up contain until they filly tecognize the play.

“The DEFENSE! Under coach Mike McDonald this defense will go from being ranked near the bottom straight to the top!”
Coach Mike is a defensive specialist. He knows exactly how to use his players and he puts them in position to be successful. His “system defense” allows players to do what they do best. He will know who does what and who is better as he gets to know the players. Coach understands where we are weak. He knows how to capitalize on our strengths. Surprisingly we have 2️⃣ TWO! The 1st is our secondary! This is a very talented group with a lot of depth. Not only do we have depth in the secondary but we are also very versatile there. Table players: CB Devin Witherspoon*
    CB Tariq Woolen*
    S Love*
    CB/S Coby Bryant
    CB Mike Jackson
    CB Tre Brown
We likely will have 3 pro bowl players in this secondary.
The D-Line has suddenly become one of our strengths overnight! One of our biggest concerns on defense is STOPPING THE RUN. We signed the Big Katy! Leonard Williams. We drafted the best defensive tackle coming out of college in the 1st round with Byron Murphy!!! We have Rhino 🦏 Reed playing his best football 🏈 of his career! We also have signed Dremont Jones. Suddenly we have a pretty stout bunch up front. Stopping the run should not be a problem. The group has talent, power, speed and depth! It could be that coach Mike uses a rotation of players to wear a team down. Pressuring and collapsing the pocket should be a common occurrence with the amount of talent we have now. Player like Dremont Jones and Mike Moore might be give reps as edge rushers at times. Coach has to figure out how to put the best players on the field. Sometimes a player will play out of position. This is a good problem to have. The physicality of the game is proven in the trenches. In my opinion the game is won in the trenches. Well from what I see, our trenches are in good hands. So far so good. I like what I see.
The only issue I had this off season was not signing Bobby Wagner. We allowed him to walk. In my opinion we made a huge mistake. We could have signed him. SMH 🤦‍♂️ He is supposed to retire a Seahawk. He took a pay cut to come back to Seattle. The Seahawks basically screwed one of our best players ever. The thing I can’t understand is we could have signed him to a really team friendly, affordable contract. Wagner is still playing at a high level. His experience and leadership is needed and he will be missed. I understand we are changing. I get that. Signing Wagner would have solidified the middle of this defense. We still could have added the younger, faster LB’s that Coach Mike prefers. SMH 🤦‍♂️
In this scheme it starts up front. We dominate the line of scrimmage. Collapse the pocket and apply pressure to the QB. As this war goes on in the trenches we have ultra fast LB tackling machines behind our D-Line. We have tenacious Edge rushers who will come non-stop! As we win the battle in the trenches it becomes easier for our Edge rushers and linebackers. It starts in the trenches!
In turn, the pressure from our D-Line, Edge rushers and linebackers force errors. They hurry the QB. Mistakes get made. With 3 pro bowlers in the secondary, mistakes made by opposing QB’s are costly ones! The Mike McDonald defense should be great really fast. 💨 with players like Byron Murphy, Leonard Williams, Rhino 🦏 Reed, DreMont Jones, Tariq Woolen, Devin Witherspoon, Love, Coby Bryant, Tre Brown, Mike Jackson, Derrick Hall, Mike Morris and a few others we have picked up through free agency. McDonald has a talent rich roster! I’m absolutely certain that the coach is dialing up defenses that will cause absolute problems for the OPPs! True, the Seahawks have a few needs at certain positions. That’s always gonna be an issue. I would say that adding a pro bowl offensive lineman is a good idea. Someone to lead that group of young players and who can teach them how to be pros. Add another elite TE. *Continue scouting for the next QB. Geno is fine for the next 2-3 years. We need an understudy.. This is how you transition to another QB. Slowly. It’s a process. Try to get Penix or Justin Fields. We need someone who we can train up. Howell is good but we can do better.
Add a big play receiver! We need a WR who gets yards after the catch! YAC. A bigger #1 type with 4.2 speed. Good hands and likes to beat the defense deep! A threat every time he touches the ball! 🏈
A bigger RB/FB type who can even play TE. 6’3” or 6’5” with excellent hands. Elite blocker! Good on goal line and short yardage situations!
Draft another Center. A bigger option that can play OG or OT too!
Adding these types of players only adds depth and quality to the roster. It speaks volumes when you have an unfortunate injury occur and another guy is there to step right in. AND…. there’s no real drop off in performance. On defense we need 1) SS- a Cam Chancelor type player! The Enforcer on the back end! We need another shut down corner!
We need 2 pro bowl Linebackers! Big, fast, elite guys! 6’5” -6’-6” guys! Heavy hitters! We also could use another Edge rusher. A 6’5” -6’7” type guy! Long arms, powerfully built and he’s explosive. 🧨 a 20 plus sack dude! Always pick up the next big thing on the D-Line.! A 300 -320lb power house! Fast, mean, tenacious!!! Play him in rotation until he’s ready to play full time.
This is the Seahawk team I envision. This team is championship caliber NOW!
