Glad to see you've decided to main Brew! I had a feeling seeing some of your other videos that you'd eventually start playing it more, but calling it "main" is really good to hear!
Seeing how Brewmaster, like all tank specs for that matter, is competitive makes me happy, after years of imbalances among tanks. Also, Brewmaster is the funniest tank fantasy in the game, and that gets the spec points.
I would argue tank balance has been thr best role balance in the game for quite sometime. Besides prot warrior being basically unplayable first season of shadowlands after the corruptions gutting. Every tank has been able to do very high levels of content, with one tank just being the top choice. But nothing is perfect obviously. But tanks have it good rn
@@TayzerLazerGames 100% true. The difference between tanks hasnt been bad at all since after BFA. The only time The difference really shows is either super early in the season and very high end keys.
I don't know if this is common knowledge or best thing to do, but casting Tiger Palm, while your in the middle of your Spinning Crane Kick, give you up to 3 Stacks of your Set-Bonus, but still let you hit all 4 hits of SCK. The additional 25 Energy you have to spend for TP doesn't hurt most of the time. Maybe you can give feedback, if this is a good way to do it. Thanks for your videos, helps a lot!
Great Video as always Sha!! I mained a BrM for several Expacs and only recently picked it back up again Currently leveling my BrM to 70 and looking forward to getting into some dungeons with it. I agree.. I was hesitant on picking it up for the issues you mentioned, but I find it very refreshing over Warrior ( which is my current Tanks ATM ) doing leveling dungeons and timewalking etc..
awesome exactly what i was looking for. u are easy to understand and explain in a way so even i can understand =) keep up the good work and noone is perfect the most important is to have fun and do ur best
If you are someone who plays a mistweaver trying brew, think of black out combo as thunder focus tea :D Also unless it's been fixed, it doesn't actually buff purify brew, seems like a bug
you can setup a macro to switch bars to switch between sck and tigerpalm. so for bosses like birdboss in academy or last boss in azure you cann switch bars, hit TP instead of sck and comfortable get a CB for every tankbuster
You have a very cool channel and I learned a lot of new things here. Yesterday I ran into a problem that I don't understand how to properly kite mobs. I meet all the blows with my face and it makes my heal cry. Could you please explain how to do it correctly in a similar video?
I'll try to include that in my upcoming video roster! Kiting is definitely an important part to tanking, and knowing when you should or need to is key to staying alive and keeping your group safe.
When I’m looking at my talents I’m usually torn between the weapons of order capstone purified chi and either of the bonedust brew capstones. Is the weapons of order capstones worth taking? Since it does reduce the cd of weapons.
Is there a certain haste cap you want to reach? I’ve been focusing vers>mastery=crit and been keeping as little haste as possible but sometimes I run out of energy and can’t use keg smash for a time
I'm not the best BRM, but in my experience I mostly run out of energy when I've been overspending, especially in lower keys. Using your rotation correctly, weaving in stuff like CB, EH, RJW should be enough non-energy globals to let your energy regain.
Not really. With Stormstouts last keg (which you will always take) you don't need the haste to have enough keg smashes. Even mroeso if you take weapons of order. Versatility is king. Damage and reduction. Then because I play WW In my raid group, it would be mastery=crit after Versatility. But if you are purely playing brew. Crit would take priority over mastery, however you shouldn't feel bad for having mastery as it still has defensive and offensive value. So far I'm at 26% verse, 22% mastery 20%crit (I think)
Isn't Generous Pour still bugged? I tested it out on my brew who has 11.8% Avoidance and when I spec'd into it, it didn't change that number or appear to give my melee buddies any extra avoidance at all.
How do you deal with tank busters that come often, such as the Bleed from the bird in AA? I often times feel confused on what to press as a Brewmaster compared to my druid which is way more intuitive. I feel like Celestial Brew should be a no brainer, but otherwise what is there? Dampen Harm has a 2 minute cd so you can't really rotate it with something else since there's nothing else really. Is the Stagger often times enough for a tank buster? My highest keys on druid were +18 and for now I am doing +12-14s as Brewmaster
pretty sure they removed the ability to dodge/parry the Bird's Bleed. the way to deal with constant high damage as a tank is to rotate all of your cooldowns, never overlapping any. so for one Bleed, you might press Celestial Brew with mid-high stacks. On the next, you Fort Brew, while you assemble stacks for Celestial Brew again. On the 3rd, Celestial Brew again. After that, Dampen Harm, then Celestial Brew again, etc etc :P If you make sure to never overlap defensive buttons, and don't press them when you don't need them, you will always have something up to survive the Bleed, even if it's just a Zen Med for the initial hit. :P Diffuse Magic can help a lot when you press it for a screech with 3-5 stacks (depending on how many your group will do). Make sure to not panic press CDs if you are low, but heal up with Expel Harm and Purifying Brew. If you have to, you can even kite the Boss a bit to get hit by less autoattacks. don't autopilot: think ahead; always think about what you want to use for the next tank hit before it arrives. and don't worry if you cant do as high keys on a newly picked up tank, tanking is a lot about feeling comfortable on the spec and knowing what to press when. the more you play monk, the more intuitive it will become, and the higher keys you will be able to do. :)
I have a problema with brew that to me its hard to keep agro from casting mobs early in the pull ir some mob is far and i lose agro. That tô me os the only thing i cant ter figured out
All damage hits have a chance to proc Resonant Fists hence why Rushing Jade Wind is the talent choice preference and Spinning Crane Kick > Tiger Palm due to "Hits per Minute"
Re: tiger palm vs.SCK. My understanding is that autoattacks don’t work during SCK. Did you include the loss of those in your damage analysis? I heard at the end of the day the damage difference is completely negligible
Does it feel like Brewmaster has pretty bad single target damage? I might do some things wrong since I started playing it 5 days ago at level 70. I used to have a druid as a tank and it feels like it did more ST damage, while on AOE brew is pretty good.
At about 400 ilvl I pull like 38 to 40 k single target in m+ runs. Seems to be strong for me. Trinkets seem to play a large role though. I use grieftorch, boon, and whetstone depending on the situation.
When you talked about the speed boost on Provoke you mentioned the AoE in Nokhud around third boss. I actually come to believe you are meant to tank the mobs inside the AoE, and here is why. Pack on the hills have 1 mini boss, 1 Deathspeaker (aoe dude) and a couple of undead. Mini boss and deathspeaker are humanoids, with more HP than the undead targets. The Aoe gives undead 20% less dmg taken, and 20% more dmg done. The mini boss has a cast that empowers his death aoe bolt for every dead ally around him. So by tanking the undead mobs in the AoE, we make their effective hp closer to the mini boss and deathspeaker which is great for stuff like bolstering, sanguine etc, while also keeping them alive for longer so they dont empower the mini boss. This is just my own theory, would love your opinion on my plan =)
I think brew is the most fun tank out there, I also think brew is completely trash compared to other tanks. I'll give you an example, warrior ignore pain (which is just a better stagger) and gives you a bubble with no CD. Dk death strikes gives you 15%+ healing and a bubble also has no CD. Monk? CB has a 45 sec cd (of corse it's faster if you Talent into). Complete trash. And don't even get me started about brew healing! Every other class has way better and more healing available, while brew you have to use kicks in hopes of getting yellow orbs, totally trash when your dying and oh yeah let me kick this dude and hope he drops a orb so I can press another button to get it. DH just use meta and their at full hp and dk just use 2 death strike and he's good. Overall brew damg is good but everything else is complete trash. Whoever made brew needs to get an F on their bilzz report card
Glad to see you've decided to main Brew! I had a feeling seeing some of your other videos that you'd eventually start playing it more, but calling it "main" is really good to hear!

Leveled my Monk with Brewmaster and enjoying the spec as I get used to it. Like how you always have something to press over waiting like many classes.
Your the best man. sharing this video i love it! ty for your work and these videos just the best!

Great video! Your presentation is very good
Charred Passion sounds dope with the Eranog ring. Especially with Flaring Cowl.
Hey Sha great content, would you be able to update your WA link in description please?
you can setup a macro to switch bars to switch between sck and tigerpalm. so for bosses like birdboss in academy or last boss in azure you cann switch bars, hit TP instead of sck and comfortable get a CB for every tankbuster
Is it possible if you can share your Brewmaster WA in the middle of the screen please?
Still working on mine almost to that 390-break point so hoping tuesday will push me over and above that to do higher keys.

He covers that in the video. You’ll address energy starvation through your rotation. Using zero energy fillers to regen so you can always keg smash. 👍

I believe you can stack elusive brawler stacks (making mobs hit your back) then guarenteed dodge it, some mechs are undodgable however
pretty sure they removed the ability to dodge/parry the Bird's Bleed.

Does spinning crane kick increase the number of resonant fist procs as well?
All damage hits have a chance to proc Resonant Fists hence why Rushing Jade Wind is the talent choice preference and Spinning Crane Kick > Tiger Palm due to "Hits per Minute"
Idk Dragonfire brew talent seems to be more overall damage for me than charred passions. Maybe I'm just playing it wrong though
