Literally every day I'm fiddling with my talents and swapping between Shado Pan and MoH lol. Though I really wish Press the Advantage would get a buff, even on a non-tiger palm MoH build it's more worth to go Weapons of Order. Also I wish Brewmaster held the spot of being the most damaging tank considering how convoluted our defense rotation can be, but oh well.
Been maining monk since the beginning of last expansion, and recently found your channel! Wonderful content, bud! A few questions - I have a tendency to overspend with tiger palm when tanking, so I prefer playing with Press the Advantage. Is PtA still viable? (I tried looking up how often Face Palm procs with Press the Advantage but I haven't found anything yet.) Also, Staggering Strikes seems like a talent that is often overlooked. It seems there might be some additive effects from Staggering Strikes + Mantra of Purity (from the Master of Harmony talents. Any thoughts on this? I've been enjoying playing my Brewmaster with these talents so far, but I'd love to hear your thoughts!
PTA is sadly no longer viable because both Hero talents significantly favor Weapons of Order. Staggering Strikes is too weak of a talent, especially when Quick Sip exists. It doesn't have any interaction with Manta of Purity from my knowledge. Flat values are always going to be weaker than % based values when dealing with scaling content.
@@Sha_IRL I figured as much, just wish there were more options available that work with my preferred playstyle. Thanks for getting back to me! Happy hunting, Sha!
I really like this video, and how you take the time to describe options for people instead of just laying out the meta and saying "This is it, this is the build." I did have one question that I haven't really been able to figure out yet - about how much damage is converted into stagger when an Ox Stance charge is consumed? Even when I go into Heightened Guard, I feel like it triggers so rarely for me (I generally run 7s and 8s) that I have been opting for two points in High Tolerance over it. In higher keys is the mitigation significant enough to warrant opting into Ox Stance?
You don't get hit hard enough to procc ox stance in that level keys - don't bother with it unless you are getting into higher keys 11+ where everything starts to hit like a truck
I take Light Brewing over Training of Niuzao just because I tend to get a lot more celestial brews due to Keg Smash spamming. Why is training of Niuzao better, do we not get Dodge DR faster?
Sha I’m curious what talents do you think could be done away with and just baked into the class itself to help with button bloat, personally I think black ox statue should just be gone and our aoe should just produce 50% more threat
Tiger Palm tends to pull ahead, but there are several factors at play like level of stagger, and pull count. Tiger Palm with the Face Palm and Counter Strike talent tends to do more damage when proceeding a Blackout Kick on average. But if you are in deep levels of stagger, in larger pulls, Breath of Fire can provide a DR, and more uncapped AoE potential.
Generally Tiger Palm is better proceeding a Blackout Combo when playing Master of Harmony due to the amplified Tiger Palm damage from the Face Palm and Counter Strike talent. If you need an extra 5% DR, then you can cast Breath instead. That's the beauty of Blackout Combo
When brewmaster gets a buff, i feel so dissapointet. A + 6 this week feels equal to a +10 with my vengance. But brewmaster makes a lot more fun gameplay wise. It cant be okay to feel so much weeker with it.
I can't get used to MOH: it feels generally less tanky than SHADO with baseline 10% DR, even double CB charge feels disappointing while it is wrecked with a couple of trash melees. Also the rate you build vitality is way too slow imo
My biggest issue with this spec is there's just too many fucking buttons. No class in any mmo should ever require almost 30 keybinds to be played properly, that's just nonsense. My issue isn't keeping track of that many buttons, it's that I just don't have any keys on my keyboard/mouse left that I can push comfortably without contorting my hands or having to move them entirely like I'm playing a piano.
@@Sha_IRL i agree with this, but gotta say thanks for the cast sequence macros you showed for Blackout/tiger keg smash/breath. Really helped my keybinds feel managable
@@Sha_IRL that's the thing, man, they all have a purpose and all have a frequent reason to use, I have no clue how they would fix the bloat without a complete class overhaul, there's just too many moving parts I guess they could combine dampen and diffuse into one combined CD, maybe buff press the advantage so that it's a viable alternative to WoO
As a Mistweaver main spec and BrewMaster Offspec, this is sooo freaking clutch! Love the breakdown and content. Subbed!
Thanks for this and looking forward to the 11.0.5 guide 😄
Thank you so much for the in depth analysis, I've taken up tanking for the first time in TWW and your breakdowns have been helping a ton.
New to brew and I really appreciate your content, it helps a ton.
Great vid make me wanna try brew and wish there was a vid like this on vdh
Great video! I'm a struggling brew so this is helpful

Blizz thought it‘s a good idea to let Pala do some dps aoe.. Feels like i can‘t get into pugs for being brew anymore rn
Brilliant video, great content and analysis.

So getting more delaying damage with ox stance is better than more shield and purify?

When you play MoH with Salabim's and dragonfire brew, do you spend blackout combo with breath of fire instead of tiger palm ?

But if you are in deep levels of stagger, in larger pulls, Breath of Fire can provide a DR, and more uncapped AoE potential.
is it okey to avoid certain talents to reduce button bloat? such as chi burst and explosive keg.
Nothing is stopping you from pathing around those talents, but just know it will come at a substantial DPS loss.
If I want to play Master of Harmony in m+ am I using the Blackout Combo on Breath of Fire or Tiger Palm ?

Rashanan poison in Dawn
Am I high, or have I just not been cleansing on Rasha'nan in the Dawnbreaker?

While it's better than it was, Brewmaster does have a lot of active keybinds required to play optimally. What abilities do you wish didn't exist?
@@Sha_IRL i agree with this, but gotta say thanks for the cast sequence macros you showed for Blackout/tiger keg smash/breath. Really helped my keybinds feel managable
