17. Closed Captioning Bumper
18. Coming Up Next...
19. Promo for "Teen Win, Lose Or Draw"
20. Disney Channel Bumper (One that I also don't ever remember seeing. I don't think we started subscribing until around 1990)
21. Promo for "The New Mickey Mouse Club"
22. The Disney Channel Magazine: "Match Point" (Looks like a paint by numbers 80's teen sports movie but also looks like cheesy fun. Also fun to see Renee O'Connor before Xena. As they say at the end, this was aired serially in 15 parts on "The New Mickey Mouse Club" with each part being around 5 minutes long)
23. Coming Up Next...
24. Promo for "Saludos Amigos"
25. A Disney Moment: "Cinderella"
26. Disney Channel Bumper
0:01 - I actually used to enjoy this song they would play in the background during the channel promos of what's up ahead. I'm sure it's just some stock music, but as someone who grew up with Disney when it was a paid subscription channel, the music brings a lot of memories as an adult.
They need to bring this Disney channel back
They should make a “Disney Channel Classic” and run all these old spots and movies they used to how.
The first promo being played just….. unlocked a feeling of…. When I was younger and feeling optimistic about the future. A happiness that I can’t find as an adult anymore.
I miss *this* Disney Channel. It really had something for everyone. I discovered some amazing movies in the later hours.
I remember PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON.
Me and my old school friends saw this cartoon at the elementary school back in the early 1990's.
😹😺👍
That ending takes me back for sure, I was hoping to see a “danger bay” or “Swiss family Robinson” trailer, they always had those playing lol. This was great though!
When I was 10, in 1992, I always had to watch The Mickey Mouse Club because of the gorgeous green-eyed mouseketeer named Keri!
Wonderful just wonderful. Thank you for this!
Today's TDC isn't as warm and wholesome as they were saying here! This is the version that I'd watch every free weekend and even scrambled if I could handle it!
But I bet NOTHING went wrong in that circus with Ernest handling fire! KNOW WHAT I MEAN VERN?!
Same here. I only ever saw it on the free previews back in the day.
Man, I thought I was the only one who ever watched the Disney Channel when it was scrambled! Now I don't feel so weird about doing it.
10:54 - I do remember around this time syndicated cartoons like Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin and Darkwing Duck premiered on the Disney Channel first for a limited time in the Spring (I think a few months) before they started airing in syndication in the fall later, hence the "exclusive" label.
Bring back the Disney Channel in it's original format!
Oh wow, I haven't heard that song from 8:20 since the years they originally used it, yet I found myself able to recall the upcoming lyrics instantly. Funny how that works. My favorite part of these are the station IDs. So much creativity and fun, mixed with gentle elegance.
Yuppies *and* orphans? That sitcom is so '80s.
Walt Disney World Celebrity Circus- Very nice to briefly see Ernest P. Worrell at 1:19. Makes me wonder what his role would have been in a circus like this one, since I never saw this show back in the day.
At 9:51, I think this royalty-free song was later reused for the Omega Mart commercials that appeared back in 2020/2021.
So they did an Absent-Minded Professor remake before "Flubber"?
Yes: www.imdb.com/title/tt0094603/
It was a made for TV movie.
Yes! Harry Anderson's version was terrific!
I really have the Disney channell to thank for a lot of the more adult-oriented movies I used to watch as a kid in the 80s. Disney channel today just shows kids' stuff 24/7, but back then, I would ask to stay up late to watch classic movies or shows like Murder on the Orient Express, Zorro, Davey Crockett, South Pacific, and way too many Shirley Temple movies to list here 😆
Does anyone have episodes of the sitcom "Just Like Family" or the movie "The Absent Minded Professor" with Harry Anderson or the MMC movie "Match Point"? Are they located anywhere online to watch?
Check Amazon
"The Absent Minded Professor" remake can be found on youtube, but I don't know if it is the full movie in its entirety or some sort of digested version: ua-cam.com/video/cymvBPjD7Po/v-deo.html
The other two you're unlikely to find anywhere. There is a ton of stuff original to the Disney Channel from back then that has never been available to watch since.
@@80sCommercialVault Thanks! I'll check it out.
Walt Disney World Celebrity Circus-could be considered as Disney's revival of Circus Of The Stars
Dateline Disney: "The Absent Minded Professor"-R.I.P Harry Anderson
Puff The Magic Dragon In The Land Of Living Lies-This guy should make a animated comeback
The New Mickey Mouse Club-sounded like Nelson Muntz was doing the promo voiceover(expected it to end with"Ha ha!!" ) 😆
Match Point-"..cause i'll be slamming the ball down your throat!" Umm,okay..
Life was easy.
