If you r really curious and wanna go down this rabbit hole don't focus on only one or cults themselves, better focus on all the similarities like rhetoric (the special grammar, speech patterns, modulation gesture etc) propaganda and manipulation tactics. Listen carefully to some politics, religious leaders and adds.
You might find additional help in reading following books: Psychology of the masses by Gustav Le Bon (maybe some parts of Sigmund Freuds respond to Le Bon's book too) and combating cult mind control by Steven Hassan, that shall do it. I can't guarantee that you get down this hole that fast without some real live cult experience like the one I had, but you definitely not only will get a better picture of our species itself but also it strengthens your mental strengh in a way beyond imagination.
Maybe this can help too:
Destroy all your beliefs and everything that has conditioned you so far, start observing and learning for yourself, also pay attention to your fellow human beings in how you perceive them and how you interact with them. There are different levels of society and social classes with their own rules, patterns, views and moral beliefs. Learn how to integrate all these views into your consciousness, your views. Keep learning, growing and evolving while always being curious.
