- @cw-01creations46 DT 02 Speed Contest. Hi all. This might be my last go at this contest because I don't want to break anything else but you never know, I might be tempted to go out again. So last time I got 45mph and this time I have a 22t pinion installed so will it go quicker or just get broken? Many thanks to Peter Smith for hosting the contest. Thank you for watching. Please like and comment :-)
i came to see the crashes and i wasn’t disappointed. good speed sir! 👍
Hiya Dom. Oh yeah I have gone back to crashing into the hedge for these speed runs as it seems to cause less damage than trying to stop. Cheers for watching mate 😁👍
Hiya Pete! Oh boy you gave that poor DT a right good thrashing! I winced every time you smashed into the bank at the end of the road... but it just proves how robust this platform is (excusing the front upright of course!) Well done for the tenacity, I was willing for the 50 to pop up on your phone mate! But hey, it's a bloody good speed all the same. Nice one Pete, wishing you a smashing weekend, looks like Sunday is going to be scorchio! 🔥🔥☀🌞👍
Hiya Mark. Well I think that in this car park that doesn't have kerbs I think it's less damaging to pile into the bush (ooh matron) than it is to try and stop and risk a roll over on the tarmac. If I find myself not busy on a day that is not good enough for people to be on the beach but not so bad that I can't do a run then I may have another go at this. Thing is that the leaders are so far ahead that I'm only battling the people in the middle. Yeah weekend looks good. There is some sort of festival happening in Christchurch so we are going over there which is mainly an excuse to go to the pub. Hope you have a good one mate. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Yeah Pete . Get some !
Hi there. Yeah I sort of enjoy doing the speed runs but it's also a bit nerve wracking with the potential damage. Many thanks indeed for watching and your comments 😁👍
That was great entertainment, Pete! Bummer with the breakage, but you came back another day for another crack at it, I love the method with speeding into the bank, very effective, he he!
Hi there. Oh yeah I'm going to stick with smashing into the bank on these because it usually doesn't get damaged. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
49's great. Maybe some wheel weights in the front might reduce the wheeling and give you the last mph.
Hi there. Yeah I really ought to think about weights in the front. The main challenge of this is keeping the front down for sure. I'm pretty pleased with 49mph though. I may end up having another go 🤔 Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍👍
That is certainly taking a fair amount of punishment. Wow! The chassis is stronger than I thought. I kinda feel like air is getting in the front mudguards and lifting the front up. Extending them down over the front wheels could help stop it lifting. Anyway, great run 👍
Oh yeah I expected this to break in the crashes but it's quite a tough little chassis. Yes I could have done with better aerodynamics or weight in the front. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback 😁👍
49 to 0 that wad great 😂😂😂
Ha yeah it was quite rapid deceleration 🤣 Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
Brilliant, loved that, very entertaining! Thought it was all going to go pear shaped with the famous 'one last try' words,
Hi there. Oh yeah having one last go is normally the kiss of death on these but I got away with it this time. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍👍
Definitely the distinctive sound of a Pete Wylie video!! 😂
Great run buddy, that thing was ripping!!
Certainly getting towards the realms of 'over powered' at this point..... that thing looked very difficult to hold down mate!
So gutting not to have hit the big 50,but very entertaining non the less fella.
Great viewing Sir. 😊 👍 👍 👍
Oh yes the sound of a Tamiya hitting a bramble bush is definitely one of mine 🤣 With this chassis it is very much an issue keeping the front down at speed that is the issue. Mark and Rob had the right idea with their long ones (ooh matron). Yes 50mph seems so close but not sure whether to go again as it's nowhere near the top guys and I might have an expensive repair bill after 🤔 Anyway I see that I have another of your attempts to watch so I will see you in your comments soon. Cheers for watching mine 😁👍

Oh those midland boys definitely know there stuff mate.....
But, I was always told it's not how big it is that matters, it's what you do with it! 😂 😅 🤣
As for the sound..... I was more referring to the high pitch whine of brushless motors, cogging, and the sound of lexan and ABS dragging along tarmac! 😂
Have a great weekend Sir.
👍 👍 👍
Hi Pete, that was a magnificent 49 mph attempt, Well Done 👍
I'm sure you will have another sneaky go just to break into the 50 mph bracket before the competition ends this month 🤔
But either way, Thanks for taking part & getting a PB of 49mph ✔️
Hiya Peter. Yeah I guess if that car park is ever really quiet I might have another go. I just worry about breaking things. Thanks again for hosting the contest. Been fun to take part in. Best wishes mate 😁👍👍
49 pretty dang good! Cheers
Hey yeah it's quite a speed hike from the original 37mph I got. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁👍
Damn Pete 47 to a dead stop 😂 😂😂😂😂😂. Amazing it’s not broke.
Ha yeah well I think that the brambles sort of give it a soft landing. Better than a brick wall would anyway! Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁👍
That speed was such a tease....1 mph more 🤞🏻 that was crazy fast though!
Hiya Damien. Oh yeah it would have been great to get a nice round 50mph but it wasn't to be that day. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Congrats on that speed 👍That's actually not a bad idea to use the grass and incline to stop the car 👀 🤝
Hi there. Yeah it does seem to be a better way to stop without damage. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
