It’s wonderful to see young people such as yourself to open up and hear great great classic tunes you will never regret..... it would be a shame to not visit this and to never be heard 👏👍
Im loving your awakening to the Music we listened to back in the Day. I really love your excitement in hearing these songs for the first time. If you really want a funky version of this song. Check out , Live at Daryl's where he gets together with Cee Lo Green and his band. Its Fire!!.... keep up the awesome reactions
Now I'm curious to know when you were born? I'm from 82 and been listening to it thanks to my older brother since I was a kid. I love all types of music but I'm glad to see a younger (than me) generation enjoying some of the best music ever recorded.
In 1982 this song went to #1 on the Top 100 Pop chart AND the R&B chart AND the Dance/Club chart. I worked in the record business back then and This single and album sold a TON of records in the inner city. Their music's not exactly a closely guarded secret, but I'm glad you're catching up to it now. Try reacting to the song 'Do What You Want Be Who You Are' which is great Soul music.
Daryl is such a great ad-libber it's like he's writing a second song while the first one is fading out. I think it's why they always loved performing live over lip-synching. More freedom.
They actually performed this song at The Apollo back in the '80's right after it came out! Great song and I love it and most of their other music. Good good stuff!!
Your reactions are great and you get all of this music right away! There was so much great music produced in the 60's and 70 it is endless you will love discovering all of it and i am excited to watch it thanks!
Damn. I was a nineteen year-old Airman First Class in the Air Force when this came out. I was stationed in Spain at the time, and had come on leave to the small Northern California town where I grew up. There, I met a friend’s cousin who, like my mom, was from Arkansas. She was beautiful and sexy, and she and I hit it off and this song became one of our favorites. Hearing this takes me back to that time. So many memories.
Back then we had a radio with am or fm. We listened to what the DJ played. Now you have Playlist download streaming. I get in my car and turn on a oldies channel. Sometime go watch soul train midnite special American bandstand. MTV. That was our first time getting to see a new band. Now u have VH1 I think that's music. Go watch live from daryls house sometime. The artist aren't always new but you will see some. Travis Mccoy. Allen stone amos Lee all great. So many more.
Yes! By all means, this song exhibited the peak of their powers which are plethora. It is the best then Sara Smile then Private Eyes. IMO for what it's worth. I'm not a musician just a music appreciator!
Here's two more recent recordings of this track made LIVE at Daryl's house, each with a guest artist. This one is with CeeLo Green: @ This one is with British artist Rumer: @
Live at Daryl's House is a great UA-cam check out. Daryl Hall invites other artists to come into his studio house and play their songs. There's everyone from Smokey Robinson to cee lo Green. Cee lo Green did this song in one take and it was so funky and awesome. The background band is absolutely amazing. You have to check out live at Daryl's House if you are a Hall and Oates fan
Hey dude great to see young folk enjoying music of my generation. You should check out there song called Las Vegas Turnaround its one of there older tunes and not really famous but has a great melody to it.
Another great song and reaction! Have you done "Light My Fire" by the Doors? Or Bob Seger's "Roll Me Away"? So many great songs from those eras! Thanks for the music!!!
Can't go wrong with Hall and Oates. Watch Live At Daryl's House. This same sing is sung with Ceelo Green. A little more funk added. I think you would like this. A follower from Arizona, I'm an indigious person, love your reactions.🎶🎤🫶😀
Try Cee Lo Green's sample of this on Daryl's House,an informal show that features different artists. CEE Lo sings with Daryl and house band and it is one heck of a jam. You would love it. Cheers from Canada
The list of #1 hits from Hall and Oats is long. The list of great tunes is really longer. Those two grew up listening, and jamming to all of that great stuff from Mowtown back in the day. So it's really nothing to think just how they had quite a bit of soul, and R&B in their own songs. Also, and I'm sure that other have mentioned this. But just to say look up this song that was done with Cee Low Green. That was such a great jam.
Your the second reactor to say that someone told you this will become your favorite over She's Gone, Rich Girl or Sara Smile and that just blows my mind! It's a great song but not close in my opinion! But what about you? Is this your favorite over the others???
I'm really getting a kick out of your reactions to all these different genres. I'd really enjoy seeing you do the Allman Brothers, Whipping Post, Live at the Fillmore. But I have a request I'd love for you to do. I haven't seen anyone react to this one, and it's so perfect. Beautifully Broken, by Gov't Mule. I think you'd love it. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/O27bAg-AY3s/v-deo.html
@@hazebruv ceelo greens voice man is just pure magic... Before they even started the guitar player said" let's get funky with this".. and man do they ever in my opinion is the best version of this song I have ever heard many people have done it on Daryl's House he brings on artists to do a collection of their songs and some of Hall & Oates songs as well but CeeLo knocks this one out of the park and is the best version I've ever heard I want the MP3 so bad for my phone man!...here ya go man..... ua-cam.com/video/c5C6I7j96hE/v-deo.html
Yes, Bruv... but this is just 1 band... you gotta know there are crap TONS of kick butt songs from REAL musicians over the 60s, 70s, 80s just sitting there and today's youth doesn't have a clue.. No Offense. This is pretty soft compared to my fave being more like Rock... Not sure if you are into that or not though. Again this music is real! No auto-tune and real instruments and musicians. If you want your mind blown with some insane Rock... just say so! Cheers Bruv!
Don't let Daryl Hall hear you call it blue eyed soul! He hates that term. He says he's a soul singer period. Why's it gotta be blue eyed soul .... he takes it as being racist. I know you didn't mean anything by it cuz I used to say they same thing about them. Daryl kinda has a point though, He's a soul singer. Not blue eyed soul.....Just a soul singer.
Congrats on John's shoutout. I've met them, they are the real deal.
