This movie is a poetic visual masterpiece with wonderful performances from all involved and colin firth is so handsome and seems to just get better looking with age like a fine wine
yupswp He gorgeous, beautiful, cute, handsome, charming, amazing, funny, adorable etc. Love Nicholas Hoult & the characters that he plays. ❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️
Actually i attended college during the 1980’s and I was shocked when my chemistry professor pulled out a cigarette from her purse and started smoking it. 😳I went to school in the Midwest.
I was in college in the early 70s. One day during class the professor was out of cigs, so he came over to my desk while lecturing and just took one out of my pack. I was rather honored.
There really isn't much of a difference between drowning and experiencing loss. Breathing seems impossible, you feel either nothing or too much, your panic is binding. This scene shows how visceral grief can be.
I first saw this on a plane, and only now do i notice the colour. My god, so much emotion is contained in that colour alone. The few things that make life worth living, according to George.
I just now have heard someone on youtube comments, recommending this film. This is my first viewing of the film clip. Wow, this is some very deep and profound dialog/content. I may have to find the time to see the entire film, because now I think I'm hooked, line and sinker!
Actually, I paid attention and came to see this because I just have seen "Nocturnal Animals" directed by Tom Ford. So I just found this movie of him either. It looks so brilliant, I will see it soon. I don't know why do so many people underrate his movies?... T.T But I came here and found out not only me love his way of creating.
Jane Le I saw Nocturnal Animals and I didn't think it was as good as A Single Man. I mean the acting was good but the story wise, wasn't as good as A Single Man.
Colin Firth was amazing in Dorian Grey.. I recommend everyone watch. The novel by Oscar Wilde may be hard to interpret because of the style of writing, sort of primitive english... Both movie and film are masterpieces. True masterpieces
I was just thinking... imagine if his heartattack happened on November 22, 1963. Now that would have made the ending of this film even more devastating!
George's speech is much longer and more relevant in Isherwood's book. And the students did not quite pay attention to it. Moreover, the second part of the speech presented in the movie is Tom Ford's imagined peroration about minorities. For those who want to go deeper in this speech, they will find out more about the title of Huxley's book, After many a summer dies the swan. Of course, this does not make Tom Ford's movie not worth of attention and apreciation.
Looks like a super-mega-pretentious artsy film which wouldn't make me consider watching it. Then again, this film has a good director and good actors/actresses so...why not?

Chevaun Edwards what happens?
Tom Ford needs to direct again!
Thankfully he did and "Nocturnal Animals" was just as incredible as "A Single Man".
We need more!
Amazing speech. Colin Firth is such a great actor. I can't believe students could smoke in class! Even if it was LA.
This is in the 60s! !!

I would be glad if i had him as my professor
I would love to go back to school if he would teach me
A superb film. The cast are uniformly excellent.
Colin Firth is perfect!!! the speech is flawless!!!

Great soundtrack, an explendid acting of Colin, as always, of course, reasons to see this movie

Read the book too by Christopher Isherwood if you like the dialogue here!
コリンさんは、どんな役をやっても、年を重ねてもやっぱり大好きです😆🎵🎵❤️❤️

Nicholas Hoult has the perfect cheekbones...PHWAR

She looks like Brigitte Bardot in the 60s

Nicholas Hoult!
Pretty much you took the words out of my mouth. Lol

Man,people don't believe me when I tell them that students and faculty could smoke in the classroom. Puff puff
This was/is a great show.

After Many a Summer Dies the Swan by Aldous Huxley
ok..i just attended a lecture and got some knowledge!!
I was just thinking... imagine if his heartattack happened on November 22, 1963. Now that would have made the ending of this film even more devastating!
Ian Hampton why?
@@tryntobe9804 Because it would be on the same day that JFK is assassinated.
❤️😍 Nicolas is beautiful eyes 👀 smoking movie 🍿
It’s the halt & catch fire man
Lee Pace!! :)
Wouldn't she be perfect as Michelle Phillips if they ever did a Biopic about The Mamas & The Papas.
O MY GOD ITS toNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fear is during that time the people at the top of the population feared what the people at the bottom of the population started doing. Thinking.
ALINE WEBER IS GORGEOUS
nicholas will always be tony stonem to me
Same he was fabulous but I loved him as Marcus in about a boy
The blonde girl smoking is gorgeous! Who is she?
this was fucking amazin.
@modepourtoujours Thank you. I will google her now :)
relevant
Does anyone know the name of the music that starts playing around 1:54?
Daydreams
Aline Weber is so so gorgeous!
"The fear that black culture may take over the world"
Were actors wearing 75$ socks in this movie?
i think thats supermodel aline weber
Hoult looks better with bangs
And the skins boy
So Unsure Nicholas Hoult. He dated Jennifer Lawrence and starred in the X-Men: First Class and it’s subsequent sequels as Beast
Pitch is too high
The only thing that bothered me in this movie.
Is it okay to smoke inside a university classroom 🤷🏻♀️?
It was okay in the 60s - this story takes place in 1962.
tony... you look a bit... posh and blonde
bardot is better, much better.
*was

Maybe it's self-reflective ostentation.
It is....but the source material saves it.
