The funny thing about Halo is half the fans will see an opinon as a hot-take, and others will just see it as pretty normal or understandable. Makes the discourse really funny to see online.
CE is so underrated dude, def is not the worst mp, I really couldn’t answer that question CE maps and ambience is very nostalgic for me in many ways. I used to play custom edition on my MacBook in the middle of the night as a kid, waiting for people to join lobbies. Many of those nights were jus me sitting around with the creepy ambience. So nostalgic
I wouldn't say that Warzone Firefight is the best Firefight, but it did definitely have some pretty nice improvements. I really like that the longer a match goes on, the better stuff that players can use. Although needing Req Packs to get most of the guns&vehicles is fucking awful. If Req Packs were a hard requirement, there should have been ones that specifically drop vehicles&weapons&upgrades with much better drop rates for the cool guns&vehicles&upgrades. Also the fact there's no endless mode for Warzone Firefight limits it.
Okay but have you ever assassinated mythic Warden Eternal when 7 other people are actively trying to do the same in H5? Personally always loved Warzone for the Halo Wars vibe you get from it. Also I'd hasten to add that the enemies seeming boring is probably just a foresight thing since it's something Infinite did well, and they definitely made Prometheans less obnoxious to kill compared to H4, even though with Warzone except at the start of the game you always have the choice to access to some power weapons. I guess the fundamental difference is that you're always on offence with Warzone, whilst Firefight is typically much more defensive with limited lives, so it's a matter of taste really. That said, limited lives on Warzone could go pretty hard tbh.
I'm gonna go further with that last one and say classic Firefight is boring solo OR with friends. The lives system makes it so you don't actually have to work together as a team. You can run off and go lone wolf, whereas with the revive system you're actually encouraged to work alongside your teammates. Classic firefight just drags on for far too long, and unless I'm playing the matchmaking version on MCC, I usually just quit when I get bored, and not when I actually lose.
Honestly, all 3 iterations of firefight would work well together, classic firefight being a holdout mode, king of the hill on smaller maps for an objective firefight, and larger scale warzone firefight combining the two.
I saw that 343 made fall of reach canon through tweaks in the story when they re-released the book, and through other means. At least that's what I saw when I searched if the book was canon or not.
Bungie did two things to try and rectify the inconsistencies: The Limited and Legendary editions had a note from ONI saying that Halo Reach was made from historical research into the events at Reach, and was subject to error. Then there were the data drops, which tried to explain various things, like the Covenant showing up early, or the Pillar of Autumn being on the planet's surface, or why Reach took more than a day to fall compared to the books. 343i edited the books so that the Elites were encountered in 2525, rather than humanity fighting swarms of Jackals and Grunts for twenty-seven years, before the Covenant finally bothered to take humanity seriously and bring its elite forces in to crush their military stronghold of Reach (which they thought was humanity's homeworld, Earth).
There there halo infinite firefight, he just doesn't understand that having a clear pointed out objective is better for match making then "just survive" when people aren't all in a discord call.
Halo with loadouts would be cool if it was fully realized. Halo 4 was very basic. Imagine playing as odsts, being able to put attachments on your guns, use weapons we haven’t seen before like the MA5K. Halo 4 was just a demake of MW2 09. Halo 5’s warzone firefight was cool but it wasn’t fully realized and the fact that you couldn’t change the settings to make custom versions is just dumb and used to sell req packs.
Heres a hot take that will probably get me a surprise in my mailbox, but Halo 3. From story to gameplay was terrible, with the story being barely a 3/10
Warzone Firefight has a lot more vehicle and weapon permutations, and the Grunt Goblin to fight against. It's still lacking a Hornet, Falcon, Spectre, Prowler, and Covenant Falcon--all team based vehicles. I think Anchor 9's spacebattle during Long Night of Solace would have made a great firefight map, in Sabres--directly from the classic Star Wars Battlefront II space battles. Hot take: The Grappling Hook should never have been added into Halo. None of the Banished, Gasgira or Marines use it. They should have left it out, so the community knew exactly how awful the campaign in Infinite really is.
Hated 4. Felt like they turned Halo into a Fast and Furious style spinoff with flashy new stuff trying to one-up the older titles but not finding the artstyle or the tone. They couldve continued on with Chief stranded across a wartorn galaxy and working up from there but they wanted a big lore twisting crisis right off the bat. Early in the game some random alien just explains every mystery in the franchise in a single exposition dump cutscene.
SPICY TAKE: I was a jetpack/sniper/DMR combo kid... I loved it. People on the receiving end, probably not. Got pretty good for a 12 year old tho. Had men in their mid twenties losing shite over the mic. Plus, armour lock sucks and you cant change my mind. Double plus, I'm now one of those mid twenties lads who loses their shite over a kid that used the same tactics I did a decade ago. Did I say armour lock sucks?
Halo is more of a multiplayer franchise, than a single-player franchise. Most of the enjoyment comes from the multiplayer. Halo CE (Despite my dislike for it) was the first and last time Halo campaigns got a huge focus. Yes Halo 2 had a good story, Yes Halo 3 has the best balance in campaign, yes Halo Reach has the best art direction and was a good prequel. But the campaigns after CE felt secondary to the multiplayer. To prove my point further, a lot of the guns in most Halos are balnced for multiplayer first, and the campaign second. EDIT: I play Firefight solo. I like feeling like a one man army.
@@XVII_RONIN Ok so I just played a bit of CEs campaign recently. I regret saying I disliked it now, because I was reminded of how good Halo CEs game loop can be.
Halo wars 1 is a top 5 halo game imo I’ve mainly enjoyed the single player aspect of halo more than multiplayer and halo wars 1 has good single player content and is hella addicting and underrated. Tldr halo wars 1 > Odst, 4, infinite and Hw2 (haven’t played halo 5)
Why does everything in 4 and 5 look so bad? It's like they decided everything should have a bulging weirdly unnatural shape that just looks awful. I'll never understand what possesed them with that overdesigned awful artstyle if there's one thing I can give to infinite is that they came back to the original artstyle for the most part

halo 4 is a better game then H2A MP. H2A MP is just halo 4 but with LESS content then halo 4, certain affinity (the guys that did halo 4 MP and Doom 2016 MP) is trying to replicate halo 2 classic's MP, but fails at doing it, cuz the gameplay feels like halo 4 but with armor abilities and sprint being removed, and does not have button combos ala classic H2, and the guns like the BR are easy to use and most of the maps are forge maps with few dev made ones, and the customization is the weakest its ever been, glad that there is a bit more variety for spartans since the H2A update came out on MCC, but less options for elites, and yes this is the only 343 halo game (if you can count it) where you can have playable elites and its the ugly 343 designs cuz ofc. and 3 armors to pick? that was before the update, and you have LESS options compared to halo 4. if i want to play halo 4, i'd rather play halo 4, and install a mod that adds H2A MP maps into halo 4 MP.
halo infinite hasn't been improved like at all the prices are still bullshit, the graphics still suck, some weapons are way too overpowered(Like the gravity hammer), and you can still get spawn killed.

I agree, CE definitely underrated. From an objective standpoint, it had the most pure and nuanced
gameplay of all halo MP.
The delay jump is because it is a port from the original pc version in CE. If I’m not mistaken
The only armor I find usable in halo 4 is Mark VI chest, arms legs, Mark V helmet shoulders, legs. Everything else I don’t think looks good
I think the only cons for Halo Reach I'll semi-understand is the hatred for bloom and armour lock.
The story was kinda crap. The way it was told was decent in execution, but the storyline in abstract was aimless, non-canonical and forgettable.
I mean For you it forgettable
I say over 75%-80% of the community enjoys it
Warzone Firefight is definitely one of the best ones. ODST’s is also good yeah, but Warzone Firefight just adds so much more stuff and variety
Hot Take: Halo 5 has a better MP then Halo Infinite and H3 Combined. Movement just feels better. My favorite is Halo Reach
Halo 5 swat may be one of the best game modes in the series
