This is Shadow. Shadow is a Black Palm Cockatoo. Thank you for watching!
That's one killer beak
Yes, very powerful
15000 PSI bite
omg i just found out about these black palms and i have to say they are an insanely beautiful species of birds.
+Shaggy420 I agree. They're pretty rare. I recently held one while helping Brenda of parrotproshows.com at a school event. I was a bit intimidated by that powerful beak, but I knew not to show it and just stay calm. Well, that was the best bird of the bunch (in my opinion), just a very cool fellow and not mean in the least!
To be honest, I think they're pretty ugly. xD
@@celty5858 To be honest, i prefer have this rather than a spider
@@celty5858 I can get you a nice snake dx
@@celty5858 What? They look awesome 🤩 Like a black panther
Never even heard or seen a black palm cockatoo. Pretty bird.

How many ??
Nice bird, boring man
It's a gothkatoo!
Aalihte that’s funny!
Perfect for me😍
The ultimate lifeform.
This man seems so sweet and kind. :')
He really is a special bird and you are special too for being so gentle and caring about his development ... no pressure just slowly, slowly !!
Really one rare bird ,I've never seen one like him, very cute though. Take good care of shadow, the name fits him well too.
Aren't these one of the rarest birds on Earth?
Yes they are rare but the females are the hardest ones to find.
I guess the females are smarter than the males, and are harder to poach.
There status is of of least concern on the red list and the are considered vulnerable to the Australian Government. They aren’t that rare in the area they come from, however they are rare in the pet trade.
Night Terror Rare in trading, etc. but not on earth lol
@@Quickblades67 Poach? You try and trap these birds and get caught you spend 5/10 years behind bars
I love palm cockatoos!❤️ they ate so cute!
What a beautiful parrot 😍
He really is wonderful. Appears to have a gentle and kind soul. Should be a real treat when he relaxes and bonds. Congratulations to you both
What a sweet bird.
this bird in Ambon Indonesia is called "Kakaktua Raja"..king of cockatoo in english language..
Wow it means the same thing in Bengali (Bengal, India)
Its interesting to know that its mouth cant be totally closed and its natural.
The main thing is the attention you have to give them. They are worse than a two year old. I've had my Cockatoo for 18 years..
What a beautiful bird!
I think he is a beautifully wicked looking bird🖤🖤🖤
I just really hope he wasn't a victim of poachers, it's a big problem in his home country of Australia
A Rare parrot from QLD Rainforests in OZ - they cut a small branch & drum on the side of their nest to attract their Female partner
or just show off maybe they Live to 90 yr old & can pick up a few tricks with their long life >

He’s a beautiful companion to have.
Hello shadow am glad to meet you you are a beautiful bird just wanted to say hello and you have a lovely day
Nature! Simply beautiful
yes, has become good bird
Breeding exotic birds while 80% of owners get rid of them and thousands and thousands are waiting for a home? Yeah, just adding to the overpopulation for profit, like merchandise and stuff. Terrible.
He’s a beautiful bird! He looks like he’d give you a pretty strong bite though so I’ll stay with my cockatiel haha
I could make a joke about shadow the hedgehog here. But I'm original with my jokes so *No.*
Thank,,u very cool,,,❤️👍
Hi! This is a gorgeous cockatoo!
I just got a jenday conure yesterday. When i talk to him, he gets close to me and "answers" me with a playful squawk, puffing his feathers and chirping. When i want him to step up, he bites. I dont pull away and he usually ends up stepping up after me insisting and not reacting to the bite. When he steps up, i praise him with lots of "good Kiwiiiii". Do you have any other tips to make me gain his trust more easily? Would you recommend a glove until he gets used to my hand? His bite is not very painful, a tiny bit of blood and bruising but im so used to it. Its just not pleasant, and i would like him to eventually be nice to friends and family once he trusts me.
Update: hes doing extremely good. Hes already very bonded to me. Mext step is to get used to stepping up on other peoples hand! He did it a couple times already! Hes cuddly, playful and loves when i sing to him.
So metal
He goes to shows all around the city of Atlanta and is outside all the time. It's safer.
Awww he is soooo cute : ) ♡♡♡
Beautiful creature! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing parrots and he looks happy.
Gorgeous Bird
Why dnt ppl understand that if a bird is bred in captivity it will not survive in the wild!! A wild bird will know where to find water n food.. a captive bird will look for a water bowl 😞
me chloe, I know. This bird would also be caught by a natural predator so easily, and so many other survival skills it's lacking. No wild creature captive raised can just be dumped off in their natural habitat. Anger should be directed at those who capture them from the wild in the first place.
@Richard E. Miranda Jr. huh? That is completely besides the point of the comment lol, are you just looking for something to criticize?
What are you even talking about? "Most" people know they cant survive, which is why people dont release them. They can be bred in captivity and released and survive, just not raised. Me personally I'm all for breeding beautiful animals like this and making them pets if it can be done and them still be happy because then that means they'll never go extinct by poaching. I just cant stand genetically modifying animals to be pets, which is why I dont have a dog or cat.
He looks even more majestic than an eagle wow
He’s very cool
I've never seen a black cockatoo b4 he is beautiful!!!!!!!
Gail David It's a Crowcatoo
50 pounds of bite force or 22.6kg of bite force no thanks ill hold on to my african grey parrot
qasdf aqsd 1500 pounds
He’s an absolute sweetheart ❤️
Really sad to see the Palm cockatoo with a human rather than its natural habitat flourishing & happy with its mates. They live anywhere btwn 50 - 90 years . For this one these years will be in captivity. So will be more in the hands of breeders. They just alter the natural behaviour of these birds over the years of captivity & breeding.
I guess you don't approve of dogs and cats as pets either ?
It is illegal to release bred animals into the wild. They should be in the wild, but unfortunately people have taken many parrots from the wild and bred them. Birds that come from generations of captivity cannot survive in the wild. Captive parrots being cared for by professionals is actually good for their conservation. Hopefully we see the wild palm cockatoo population increase a lot. But for now, this bird and many others cannot be released into the wild, and so they should be given full care and proper treatment.
what a beautiful bird
Beautiful bird!
No, we have two males and would breed but females are harder to come by. We have the only two we have seen. This one might be breed-able but other is older and may be too much of a pet to want to breed. Would love to have a female.
Avian Events, LLC Wow, I've never seen a bird like that. He's beautiful .
Winter Fawn most ppl haven't, he's an endangered species.
They only mate every two years and the success rate is the lowest ever
I have a quacker. He is rehomed. My daughter no longer could care for him. I can hand feed him but for some reason he wont do step up anymore. The first time I seen him was bk in 2015 ; bk then I could have him sit on my shoulder, scratch the bk of his head and get kisses
It’s quite small for it’s species. It isn’t fully grown I presume.
Какой шикарный черный какаду! Он великолепен!
Strange how black palms don't close their beaks, and their crests are static
If he is new to your house or sanctuary as always it will take a little bit of time to settle in and feel safe. Slowly slowly is the way forward
These black palms are kind scary looking
These look like the punk rockers of the cockatoo world.
what happened to the missing feathers in his wings...
that's one scary looking beek !
He has the same hair cutter as Rod Stewart😄
Striking beautiful!❤
He loves music. Isn't?
كوكاتو النخيل من اجمل الطيور في العالم
I want one so bad. I got a moluccan.
Fuck he looks awesome.
I love his mohawk
He’s beautiful
Geweldig
0:58 Human: Hello! Bird: (shits on floor). Human : ohhh
I love the fact alone their beaks are so big and powerful they can't close it all the way. Those suckers break walnuts like nothing.
Scary beak!! Beautiful bird, though.
are black palm cockatoos as fussy as moluccan or Sulphur Crested cockatoos, those two types have been described to me as having to look after a 3 year old for the next 60 years.
Why does he constantly look surprised?
I thought black palm cockatoos were actually bigger than that lol
I love though them they look Macaws but because of the crown on there head, well ya know haha
That's a mighty big beak you have there, Shadow.
As a proud owner of a Male palm cockatoo I would take this over a dog or cat any day
Same price as the new Honda Pilot with all the bells and whistles.
It's a wonderful bird but,i would like to see him free.
Give him a treat for being a good boy plus he may like you sooner rather than later.
Shadow the Edgeog
Shadow the Cockatoo
Most edgy of them all
Sad in captivity, but looks as if well looked after-his cheek patches aren't real bright though-I've heard females can be 50+ before mating/laying eggs, and live longer than most humans.
About 90 years to be exact, and the male and female mate for life. They are also and endangered species.
Really, how can you tell he’s sad.... ?
@@Quickblades67 They are not endangered in Australia
Where did you get him from?
Beautiful wow enjoy
why cutting wing?
He spends a lot of time outside and its safer.
I have to agree with Patriot here. It's definitely not safer. It makes him more dependant of you but doesn't allow him to escape a predator if need be. That is, unless you have a huge aviary he is outside in.
@Patriot Jefferson That depends on the environment though. You can't just assume the bird is out in the open without any sort of protection. Why not allow the bird to live closely to how it would if it was wild? Many places have giant aviaries that allow birds to roam freely but also stay safe
Shadow is gorgeous
Do you know when you'll do it yet
Hey shadow
Enjoy him
Pretty bird
Are you selling the birds
+Gursharan Sandhu Yes, please check avianevents.com for pricing.
@@avianevents You just sell at random custumers?
Wwwwooooooww
Thanks
Can you buy those and are they good with other animals?:)
They get along well with most. They are hard to find and average about 15,000$.
Can you do a video on how to tame these I'v tamed and trained several birds including macaws and am looking at purchasing a palm and not getting my finger bit of with 1,500 pounds of bite pressure
+Bacon man sounds like a good idea. I will try to do one in the next week or so. Thanks, Tom
Bacon man That's one scary bird...
1,500 pounds? that doesn't sound right.
Is this a Goliath?
No
Kaka tua raja
Bird from indonesia
It is a Palm Cockatoo....NOT a Black Palm Cockatoo
It IS a black palm cockatoo actually.
@@Cuposad Sorry, people who live in the country they come from know them as a Palm Cockatoo
Yes, check avianevents.com for pricing.
Are you required to breed him due to the endangered status?
i'd like to see him fly into a mirror.
