That was SUPER CUTE. It's really interesting how she uses her tongue to pick up treats. Palm cockatoo is my dream bird, but only in a parallel universe lol... Cockatoos probably don't fit me and I don't want to make a mistake. Awesome video, and good work with her ;^)
I have a cockatiel and he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's super sweet. I also had a Goffins Cockatoo before and there has never been a more loving bird.
@@malador1952 My male is really easy going loves to sing and play peek a boo and my female cockatiel is an all day screecher who is very mean unless she thinks there is something in it for her lol!
I was wondering what you are using as treats. My cockatoo never took treats but I love that you found something worthy of being a treat for training. Plus scritches are good for all positive reinforcements. Love your beautiful bird.
Where is your zoo? I just adore these guys! I know that they do not allow people to take them from Australia...as pets for sure. But a zoo? Is that allowed? Must be if you're in the States. Lol. We love all animals in my fam. I haven't been to a zoo in years.💔 We used to have our own house zoo haha. Raccoons. Iguana. Rats. Turtles of several kinds. Cats. Dogs. Fish. Doves. Chins. Just cats and dogs now. We are in Illinois. How far away are you? Thanks for the cute vid🙏🐾🐦🤩
@@ZookeeperJawnie the one at the San Diego Zoo looks like it's black and kinda grey, but when I photographed her/him, s/he had beautiful blue undertones. I compared it to the picture and notices it.

A friend of mine next door has one name James and he's a character. I have a 19yr old Blue Front Amazon Parrot myself and take him over there for play dates. They both get along very well.
Special-K*@Luciphene I've raised cockatiels that hatched from a mating pair I once had & still own 1 of the "once babies" that hatched & thrived. He's a normal gray cockatiel; now 30 years+3 months old! My oldest cinnamon cockatiel (also a male) lived to age >33years* I received him as a pet when he was still quite young, therfore not certain of his exact hatch date! Females don't live as long as the males I've owned. Perhaps due to the strain placed on the female prior to laying & incubating the eggs, although the male parent cockatiel also shares in the responsibility of incubating the eggs once the female has laid them (usually about 5 at a time; sometimes more, sometimes less). The male also helps feeding the chicks once they hatch. There have been times where both parent cockatiels"lose interest" in feeding the chicks & I've had to mix a powdered special"baby cockatiel formula" & take over the feeding process by hand using a dropper or syringe(minus the needle) to insert the formula into the chicks' mouths.Often these chicks failed to "thrive" & eventually died. But my 30+ year old male named"Elvis" still sings during the day & is quite a happy fellow* His female mate was a "pearled"cockatiel & passed away about 8months ago.
How odd, Lucille’s feathers look charcoal grey, except for part of her face, which looks jet black. How come? Gender issue? Does the color vary in general? All I have seen before, has been all black (except for the red, of course). Thanks a lot! 👏👍🙌🤗🦜
Lucille is beautiful and intelligent too. May God bless her always. ❤🙏❤🙏
Thats sweet.....to bless a cockatoo.
You also be blessed for that, Lori.

What a beautiful Parrot. Amazing 💖💖
This is my favorite Cockatoo. Only thing that's disturbing is their beaks are always open.
Yea, it’s super weird!

Sorry for the late response! This is in Nashville. She was born here like majority of the animals here :)
Great video !
Roland Rosa thank you so much!!
They come in grey too
Its lower beak looks broken off eeeek !!
Except her forehead, she's grey, unlike other Palms which are black all over. Wonder if diet effects this.
She’s black, especially on days she gets a bath or bathes herself. Palms are also, not all black. They range from a dark grey to black.

Can you have one as a pet?
You have to be an expert OwnerBecause they are Endangered

Lucille is a gorgeous lady! Very smart too..
Are Black Palm Cockatoos loud like other Cockatoo species?
They are!! I’ve been working on getting one of her super loud noises on a cue. So I can ask her to be loud and show people how loud she is
@@ZookeeperJawnie Yes please make a video. This whole time I thought they were quiet! lol
Omg she’s so cute! The way she waves and dances 🤣🖤🖤🖤

Hi would you consider making a video on diet and feeding im realy intrested in learning about there genral care day to day
Im planning on getting a egg and hatching it i had cockatiels before still have 2 but id always wanted one.
They’re pretty hard to raise up, that’s why they’re so rare.
Cockatiels are definitely way different.
