Thanks for watching guys! Watch the full home recording with garageband course that this video is from here www.andyguitar.co.uk/courses/learn-home-recording-with-garageband
Thanks! That's the idea, just give an overview and let those who are totally new know what's involved. Hope it inspires you to give it a go yourself one day! Even beginners should get into recording (I got into it before I could even play guitar!)
I’m a pretty good guitar player and an ok vocalist. Never learned recording but always wanted to. These videos are super basic which is perfect for me lol
You mentioned that you turn the BGV's to -6db. Is that what Is recomended in GarageBand when recording BGVS? What is a good for main lead? Thanks for the video.
Love your videos!! I'm shopping around for an electric, and was wondering if you have any recommendations for someone with smaller hands, short and also female. Lol. I just want to make sure to get the right size for someone like me. Thank you.
My phone will only record the last two words of any phrase I sing wtf is going on why can’t I get the whole phrase on the track? And when I try singing while my song playing my phone also records the song in the back ground and when track played it’s got some weird alien sound to it. So I have to turn off every instrument then sing with no music and I just can’t get timing right that way. I even have a hard time articulating words without being able to hear the music while I sing! What’s the work around?
‼️‼️‼️I really appreciate this! I love the vocal layering but can you tell us HOW? Meaning, the practical navigation of the app, where/how to layer multiple voice recordings… Is there a way to combine several recordings into ONE, so it will layer my own voice singing multiple parts? I have the app on my phone and I’m not seeing it like how it appears on your screen! ❤❤❤I appreciate any help. Trying to record some romantic songs for my sweet husband. Thank you so much.
Shure SM58 is a great vocal mike for live and recording, although condenser mics are said to give a little more sparkle to the higher registers, They are also more expensive and a lot more delicate than a dynamic mic like a 57
my vocal range reaches up to a high F, and i've noticed if i attempt to hold a higher note, it automatically clips the recording after a second or so. I'm trying to prevent that clipping, but also not have distortion. I've tried so many different things, Pls help
What do you recommend for a singer who sings higher pitch? I tend to have a harshness to my voice while doing it and i feel like the vocal is very thin which makes it hard to record. I'm fighting the peaking by trying to control my singing volume, but I can't get rid of the harshness. I know if I had more practice singing it would be more manageable, but is there any tips for mixing that could help in the meantime?
Here's a beginner introduction w/ garageband ua-cam.com/video/Zot9sYf6vsY/v-deo.html and here's a pro studio w/ real amps video! 🤟 ua-cam.com/video/LVWN0awLUYw/v-deo.html
That's OK! It's not for everybody and it's not essential. But for me it was hugely helpful and a big part of my personal goals to record songs and albums etc (search Andy Crowley First Words on Spotify to hear my best album, all written, played and recorded by me)

I kept thinking and singing this inside my head 😂
What's the boom mic stand/boom that you use in this video?
Thank you
Thanks 👍🏾
I have an SM58 that I’ve used for live gigs. Can I still use that for recording?
