    Bus Grease Monkey works on these detroit diesels for a living. Check out his youtube. He's pulled those injectors and freed them up several times when they were just as stuck.

    Injector fuel rack seized! Pull the fuel lines off. Spray with penetrating oil. Move rack back and forth. Helps most of the times. Good luck.

    Can’t believe none of these lube 🙊 bus jacker fans noticed that you guys lucked out BIG TIME getting a 318 powered truck with Jakes already on it!! That full jake setup is worth close to what you probably payed for the whole truck!

    Well I'm going to tell you this about generations I'm only 20 years old but when it comes down to an old two-stroke Detroit I'm like a 60-year-old man loving a truck driving I love a two-stroke Detroit especially when they're straight pipe and especially a needle nose peterbilt can't say no both that's in my book

    Step ONE. Pull the valve covers. Tap the injectors to see if they are free and not seized. Pull the pins on the rack. Move the rack by hand. Check for free movement of the fuel rack BEFORE trying to start. That was way too much starting fluid. If it started and had seized rack. Be prepared to cover the intake. Because engines do not run away, mechanics run away. Engines only over speed! Thanks for the memories.

    Parts for that Engine [new ones] from Luke at US Coach. They still have tons of old Buses on the road using these old 2 strokes they supply to in the RV world. IF you want more horses up the size of the injectors... do something with a new blower probably. Make sure you check the rack and make sure you don't have anything stuck in there otherwise you may have a runaway situation [so get ready to choke off the fuel or Air or both if you don't check the rack for stuck injectors]. Easy enough to free those up by popping out the injectors and running some cleaner through them and popping the top plunger with a mallet and moving the yada yada yada... just cleaning off the crud essentially then Kroil to the moving parts... Sorry i type to fast for my own good. LOVE this truck!!

    Pull injector lines spray penetrating oil tap top of injector with brass punch good thing it didn't start 2 valve will hold all injectors full fuel

  • @brettdearing2898
    @brettdearing2898 3 роки тому +3

    What you have to do is pull the injectors out and you just take a brass hammer or somthing and tap the injector rod back and forth until it frees up

    • @carlthor91

      With sprays of Seafoam Deepcreep between tapping sessions. Don't tap too hard!
      Best wishes

      Those are “top loader” Rockwell rears, EXTREMELY heavy duty but usually geared far too low for road use. Most I’ve seen are in the 6-7:1 range giving a top speed around 50 mph with an overdrive trans

    What are the outer dimensions on the grill/radiator? It looks tiny compared to the 359. Amazing it could keep the engine cool.
