Boxing guys coming up get paid worse. Ufc spreads the wealth more and the average pay per fighter is better. In boxing the main event makes all the money and the rest get peanuts.
The bottom level UFC fighters make significantly more than any bottom level boxer starting out. Boxing only pays better when you’re one of the top 0.5% which Crawford is so it makes sense for him, but not everyone
@@BigPerc17ufc is the top echelon of mma if you consider that only a small percentage make it to ufc then you realize that boxing is better fighter pay. It’s as simple as understanding percentage payouts with UFC never paying out more than 20% purse to fighters and only Connor gets 20%. Boxers take home over 50% and the promoters which is what UFC is at the end of the day, take about 50%. That means UFC is taking 30% more than Boxing promotions. And when you look at every other major sport they are close to that 50/50 split unlike the UFC 80/20

I think Colby is one of the few fighters in the UFC that doesn't cut much weight. And you can see how small he always looks compared to his opponent. Dustin looks huge at 155, I think he walks around at 195. Khabib almost died trying to make weight, he actually didn't even make weight his last fight and walks at around 190-195. These are big guys.

If you take a look at the Richest MMA fighter the vast majority of them were multimillionaire before joining UFC.
Conor was the only one that made his fortune after joining. And the majority of it came fighting Mayweather and from his company.

Weigh in on official day + weigh in on fight day. Simple to implement just step on the scales in the changing room when you get to the venue.
If everyone fought at their natural in shape weight...they wouldn't have to weight drain. Most of boxing welterweights(147) walk around at 165-180, but everyone chasing welterweight history. 165-180 divisions could be historical too if more fought there.
People always say this. I see nothing wrong with cutting some extra pounds of fat. But then if you do it by weight you gonna have let’s say me at 6’2 220 pounds at like 20 percent body fat versus someone like Jon jones who’s 6’4 at 220 and around 14 percent body fat. He is clearly in better shape and the better athlete. No way I can compete with that.
I think this doesn’t happen bcuz there would be a lot more mismatches in size. Everyone doesn’t carry weight the same way.
@SeekingTheTruth1 but it's already mismatches on fight day because of rehydration anyway. It's common for fighters to be 8 or more pounds different on fight night. That defeats the whole purpose if they rehydrate fight day anyway.

Boxing is great due to its lack of tools (two hands). Those guys are not the greatest all round fighters in the world (how could they be with such limited weapons). To be great in boxing today , with such an extensive history of greats, you have to be something special (finding that needle in a haystack advantage is so small). Boxing reigns supreme because of its history and its limitations of combat. Kickboxing/Muay Thai will achieve the same heights as the well runs dry and so will MMA. It’s all just a matter of time until they all cash in and we’re starting to see that shift now! If you want to know the projected future of MMA, just look at the history of boxing!

But the difference is that the after, you don't get your body and brain banged by a professional fighter.

Make fighters weigh in again on the day of the fight before they go in. If they go over the still fight but lose a significant amount of the purse. It would only benefit fighters to ban weight cuts.

I still don’t get why ufc pay is still getting shitted on. Crawford could fight in a cage with his own promotion and make the same if not more and bring even more money into it. He just doesn’t have the skill set. So him and Spence made 30Ms each. How much did the opening pre lims make and the rest of the card. Imagine 1 promotion running all of boxing. They would monopolize the pay. Ufc so far is one of the only successful mma companies. Most don’t make it too far. Dana should get props for what he has done. Mma is one of the fastest growing sports and one day will surpass boxing. Which is 100s of years older. I grew up watching boxing but mma is by far superior. In both physically fighting and watching for entertainment.
UfC pay is super under payed compared to boxing. Dana is a vampire has been and always will be.
I think even in Stephen Fulton's loss he made more than any MMA fighter has earned this year(3 million), Naoya made 10m? I heard Jon Jones vs Ngannou 1 would've gotten them 3 million and that's one of the biggest fights of our generation. Ngannou would've gotten 10m over the course of 3 fights... now he is getting 10m fighting Tyson Fury in one fight; a fight that many boxing fans are not very interested in. But it's great that Ngannou is getting paid.
If I were younger and were to pick a sport, I'd definitely take up boxing. MMA is too brutal.

People only see the top 1% of Professional Prize fighters and what they make, both sports there are guys getting paid 20k for a fight, both sports there are guys who are good fighters trying to make it in the sport working a real job because until they crack through and get the fight they need they won't make enough to live on.

When will people understand that walk weight is not good weight they are not in shape you know how much work it takes to get your fight weight to walk around weight cutting happenens from fight to fight bulking to a higher weight class takes years you dont just decide to change weight classes your body does that naturally over time

Light weight in MMA is 155 and the the next weight is 170 which is welterweight and then the next weight class is 185 which is middleweight and then the next weight class is light heavyweight which is 205 now those are high weight jump.
Poor Errol Spence was glazed over EVEN before the fight started. I saw a 50/50 fight before he got dominated.
Two things would change the UFC 360 degrees,
1) add a division between LW and WW and between MW and LHW
2) ban weight cutting at all
But that doesn’t solve missing weight at 125-145 so I think every division should just move up 5 pounds to make the cuts easier, 130, 140, 150, 160, 175, 190, 210
