There are only very few people in this world who are as talented and versatile like CY. Talk about a guy who is always in a sunny mood and can sing, play, compose and goes fishing Rainbow Trouts in Colorado.❤
the way he crafts each passage is like watching a maestro conducting a symphony. His precision with words is nothing short of astounding, akin to the intricate play of a masterful violinist. What sets him apart is his ability to seamlessly switch roles between conductor and violinist, creating a harmonious blend in his articulation.
It's as if he delicately navigates through the notes, choosing each word with meticulous care. The flow of his phrases is like a musical composition, where every word connects seamlessly, creating a symphony of ideas. Unlike some master violinists, their command of English even though it's their first language did kinda hinder the smooth transitions between tones, tempos, and dynamics in the speech sharing how to play part of particular pieces of music.
Listening to him is akin to being enraptured by a captivating melody that leaves you wanting more. His eloquence and delivery are like a perfectly orchestrated performance, leaving an indelible impression on the ears. It's a testament to his skill as both a wordsmith and an orator - a true virtuoso in the realm of language.
I would love have a great teacher like him.
Brilliant ✨
Absolutely fantastic and instructive playing - many thanks!!
An amazing lesson Charles thank you.
Thank you so much for the sharing of your knowledge , very usefull for learners like me
Na verdade nunca saberemos como Bach executaria esta peça sao mais de 300 anos que esta obra foi escrita
His sound is so satisfying. Am I allowed to say that? 😅
I love his sound too. It’s clear, has ‘core’ and feels somehow strong, flexible and alive 💛
Yes, and I realized that his left hand articulation is also a part of it. 🤩
How about repeating the A part, but don't repeat the B part? Because the B part is already longer?
Before you dance you need to play the right rhythm!
It's in 6/8 rhythm..
And later without the period reverb.
He encourages playing just the big beats to feel the rhythm, plays steadily, and then mangles that rhythm with the sped-up 16th notes. To be clear, I don't mind the sped-up 16ths as a stylistic choice, but then let's not pretend that we are holding the dance rhythm as core...
To me, this feels very ‘dancy’…
I guess one can’t argue about how music feels to different people; but to me the faster 16th notes in between the strong beats don’t at all impede my sense of dance, of movement, in this piece.
It’s an interesting point to make and draw attention to, though…
