This is exactly why I love Numenera for example. Think of a level and you have everything you need to improv. But this looks similarly managable! Basically 3 levels of antagonists, with variations :)

Yes, when a game's patterns for something become apparent or are explained clearly for use, the GM can find more time for play~

Maybe you could comment about whether you have a pattern or even protocol for what number of groups you divide minions into. To wit, two is self-evident. Three minions I assume you make a group of three? What about four minions? Two groups of two? Would you ever make them one group of four? Five seems natural for groups of 2 and three. Six? Two groups of three, or are you more likely to go three groups of two?
My players are about to encounter four minion mercenaries. My natural inclination is towards two groups of 2, giving them two actions per Round. However, that would have the their groups attacking with skill-1, and that type of character should have higher than one. Thoughts?
Good job on video, thank you for doing that.

lol, just so long as you avoid the numbers 3, 5, 7 and 33! This isnt Charmed, the RPG, after all! ;)

+Sean Phelan I deploy minions in groups which suit the type. For example, two gang members might be good, or 2 troopers going door to door, but 5-7 troopers will form a squad, or 2 five-trooper squads will operate together, etc.
As Obligation and reputation for violence and escape escalates, the opposition should increase the numbers of Minions they send against the group if capture or combat is expected.

Great video! I had to guess at the rules, but most of your advice is cross platform. The Minion - Rival - Nemisis paradigm rings a bell, and it too seems a usefull conceptual handle, no matter the system. At one point you ask the GM to consider reinforcements in tearms of both 'the scene' and 'what would be there'. This might seem a conflict between Narativist and Simulationist motivations, but i think it goes a little deeper; Star Wars seems to necessitate the Simulation of a certain Narative genre. I dont think either extreme, N or S, is trully functional; the highest of fantasy needs some semblance of believability, while the grittiest realism requiers that we stitch some kind of story together. Has Star Wars been a goldylocks zone for you? What is the difference between simulating a genre and narativism? On other topics i am currently chewing my way thru your Muskateer game ( the promise of GMs comentary afterward was irresistable ), and your recent video on occult sorcery was the best film youve apeared in since 'In the Mouth of Madness'!

+Colin Cruickshank That is a slew of questions.
By 'the scene' I meant what is going on in that moment in that place. Are the characters on the run and the NPCs have caught them? Are they wanted felons? Are they unknowns in a new environment? Where are they? What makes sense to be there and what would they be expected to do vs the characters?
Simulating a genre is running the game so that characters and characterizations mirror those found in the source material. Characters act and talk within those boundaries and relationships and moralities play out accordingly. There is no drive to also shape outcomes. Play is still about finding out.
I hope you enjoy the All for One series~

Right, i see! The characters might be swimming thru paint, but they still have to sink or swim by their own merit, and drowning in paint is just as colourfull. I finnished your All for One game lastnight, it was great, and today im for the commentary! Series? Cool! :D
