The original Fiio E10K was my first desktop DAC/AMP over 10 years ago. I ended up looking it up after seeing a picture of my old setup, and not only discovered that they still make the original but also this new version, very cool, might pick it up just for the sake of nostalgia.
Wait....I look different.
From future?
Excellent - the video helped with my decision, I've been enjoying this DAC with Moondrop Aria SEs as a very mild entry-level introduction to hifi on my desktop. Thank you kindly. Looking forward to browsing high-end options in the future.
The place yr filming in feels so comforting
I'm happy to hear it works fine with phones. Some people say it will not work with phones, and requires connecting to PC
David? Am I in the wrong channel 😂?
😄 Nope, you're in the right place! I'm joining the Gizaudio team but will still be maintaining my current channel.
Thank you for the great review. Is this very taxing on your smartphone battery?
Thank you! I did notice only slight battery drain but the battery in my S21 ultra is a beast. Depending on your phone and battery health it might be different for you. It's not unusually high at all, seems to be about on par with other smaller USB DACs.
@@Gizaudio that is amazing since it produces 200mw at 30hms. Thank you for the feedback
fiio q3 review please
Can i use this plugged into my xbox series x controller?
is it a big difference from the first generation?
well, you need a right angle type C cable
would i be able to combine this product with the audient evo 4? the evo 4 allows me to hear my mic in my headphones and i would like to use this DAC as well. Would this work or nahh?
What is 3rd iem in video ? Monarch ,clair ? How is it pairing with e10k ?
Oracle, it pairs great. The e10k has no problem powering it in low gain. Only issue the Oracle's cable is terminated in 2.5mm and the e10k only has a 3.5mm output. Oracle does come with an adapter but as you can see in video it sticks out quite a bit.
@@Gizaudio ok got it .thanx for reply . I m using monarch for now
Will it produce hissing sounds if i drive low impedance iem's with it?
fiio e10k-tc vs ifi hip dac, wich win? and why?
Does anyone know if this DAC is better than the Cambridge Audio DacMagic XSDAC
unfortunately it is not loud enough with my High End headphones...
Which high end headphone do u mean? If you dont mind me asking.
Never buying dac/amp and dongle again. I have the lotoo sp1 sitting in the drawer with the same loose USB C issue. Bought ifi hip dac, that broke after six months with all it inconveniences. Then l Bought shanling m3x and never looked back, could not be happier. Sometimes price attract us to stuff like these but if we add up all the money spent on all these inconveniences it could buy one solid product. I really don't know why these dongle and dac amp exist, you really can't go wrong with a standalone, dedicated player like this shanling m3x for the price to be honest. Thank you.
I totally get where you're coming from....went through that too and It is very frustrating. I'm just going to try and be as careful as I can with it. Again, so far so good but we'll see how it holds up over time. Thanks for watching!
The M3X allows you to search for tracks by name? My dap doesn't allow that and i wanna find a good one where there is a search function
@@krayozmines yes, l just did after reading your question. Most importantly you can install your favourite music app on it for that purpose if you desire. This little dap with 2gig ram is smother, faster than any Ak dap....
dac/amps are made for sensitive iems or hard to drive headphones or atleast for people who don't like using another standalone player, just plug on their smartphones/laptop and ready to go
@@goodnightmoon What is your point? A standalone dap would do everything a dac/amp does, even if you just use it with a phone or laptop, with the added capability of play music without attaching to anything.
good night friend I have a problem, I have the same dac as the one in the video, the E10K type c, the sound comes out very opaque that only happens with my S20 5G, in which I use a type C to 3.5 jack cable from the iNassen brand that according to Bring DAC I do not know if that is the problem, my headphones are Sony WH-1000X M3 and I thought that my dac had been defective but when I did the test with the C output of my Acer Swif 3 laptop, the sound is beautiful then I thought that The cable I used was of poor quality and I bought a cable from the brand UGREEN hifi of very good quality and the problem continues, if I connect a cable to the charging port of the type C phone, towards the type C input of the dac it works perfect but consumes cell battery power which could be my problem, thank you very much.
You can only compare between devices you have but you didn't compared, you just said that you can compare even tho was the k3 there, wasn't not even 5sec of comparison. Also all the review was made for portable use, and this is clear desktop device.... Thanks for nothing
Dude, your going old so fast. Sheesh 😂
does the fiio e10k have power for dt 770 pro 250 ohm?
K3 would work better, I have the DT 770 80 ohms, and the E10k is enough.
@@califa31 why would K3 amp work better? i'm getting the 990s 250 ohm (cause I heard open back is better for inroom use) and was wondering what the difference was because i see the k3 does cost more.
Is this the same as the e10k-tc model?
I think the only difference in the tc model is a higher sample rate. I'd guess they're very similar as the tc seems a mid-gen refresh.
@@sanjokazooee8136 tc stands for Type C. You can use this one with your phone
the E10K Type-C comes with an all-new flagship XMOS XUF208. Supporting up to 384kHz/32bit sampling rate, it does a better job in USB decoding with great adaptability, helping to capture more details in your music.
would this amp work with a dt 990 pro 250ohm headphones???
I think the Fiio K3 would work better
No
Does it have AAC for Apple products?
Isn't AAC only a bluetooth codec?
@@mynamesnotimportant6941 maybe ALAC 😅
Nah. Would rather wait for btr5 v2.0 or the new ifi bt player.
Is the btr5 2.0 the one that's says 2021? Or is there one coming in 2022?
@@AD-xn7pt the 2021 version
USB or USB type c?
USB type C
@@Audio-In-Reviews well noted thank you
It’s the third version but okay.
