Thanks Anne. I built a teardrop base and have been playing it for 3 years now, This exercise is right where I'm at. I also enjoy bowing an I've found it's a good way to keep the neighborhood cats away.

Fun! The teardrop shape is so lovely. Bowing definitely elicits a response! 😸

      Yep, that's a 5-string. Most of the time I play a 4-string though 😉

Nicely explained! Your fingering technique isn't Simandl, what is it? That bass seems pretty killer and has a nice tone in your hands. Not enough 5-string uprights around these days. Respect, Ms. Luna.

      Thank you!
Actually, from my classical training days and Simandl books, I think this fingering sure follow the Simandl recommendations with half steps between the index and middle fingers, as well as between the middle and pinky when in the lower positions, and a whole step between the index and pinky (and subbing the ring finger up the neck for the pinky).
The 5-string is a beast! But worth it, I think ☺️
Thanks for the comment and taking time to check things out here!

Excellent! Someday you should talk about listening to your band members and reacting to them because you're GREAT at that.
