Can i work as a automotive technician on SOWP in ontario?
I have applied for Saskatchewan nomination as a car mechanic. I have an approval letter of trade from SINP .
In which they have mentioned that your education and experience are verified. But you will have status of journey man only when you will participate in test and get license.
But I am in stress because some people say that you will have to get license for PR and some says that u will get nomination only at the base of the letter.

If i take automotive service technician program for years. Then how much time i have to do apprenticship. On canada website requirements for pr as automotive technician 3 to 5 years apprentenship is required but if i take 2 years automotive technician program will time of apprentship decrease. Thanks

You tried finely. But still many issues were not addressed.
Ie. Credit hours while study, registration of student while on study permit, pgwp. Some colleages have a tie-up with trade department and credit practical hours in apprenticeship.
Just want to know if a student who have done diploma automobile in india and if he has a decent experience of 1 year, can he enroll in apprenticeship program of 4 years in college directly?
Is it viable financially? Or should he do a 2 yr diploma proceeding to 3 yr pgwp and enroll while on pgwp?

I will try my best to address your comment. The person featuring in the video did not have any academic or work background related to being a car mechanic. Hence, he could not speak about the credits or hours required while on study permit. He studied a diploma in mechanical engineering, not specifically in automobile. The point of the video was to show viewers that even if you don’t have any academic or work background in automobiles, you can still work as a mechanic.
Talking about the second part of your question. You can definitely get enrolled in a apprenticeship program of college based on your experience and study. However, I would suggest to get a two year diploma followed by a 3 year PGWP which will be much more financially viable. Then, enrol in an apprenticeship at a private ownership while on PGWP. Please note that, as of today, you can not enrol yourself in any academic program while on PGWP so an apprenticeship program in a college wouldn’t work while on PGWP.

I am confused as most of the colleges are aligned with the government institutions for enrollment and specify to be only allowed for domestic students.
@@farazmm10 it is possible to get an apprenticeship directly and a PGWP but that is a very tough process. It is hard for someone, let’s say’s who owns an auto mechanic shop in Canada, to sponsor or hire a person who is overseas to come to Canada based on work permit and give them an apprenticeship. Having said that, it is not impossible but it just gets very tricky.
Your best bet should be to apply to a program which relates closes to what your son wants to do and then learn the skill here or develop the skill.

It depends on what you like, Navdeep. If you are asking me which program has good scope relating your ITI, I would suggest choosing some sort of skilled trade.

Which course you opted in college?
I have one doubt -
Does the apprentice count as a full time job(Noc B) and we can show it as experience in PR process OR
It is considered as study cause we are registered in a trade college.
You can show it as experience when you are getting apprenticeship while working full time. Some schools have apprenticeship included within the PR. I am sure the immigration agent can provide you with a detailed answer.

Apprenticeship is not required for PR. He applied for PR within first 2 years of work permit.

Yes, you can do an automotive based study since you have a lot of experience. Do it if you don’t want to change your field.

Well, there are chances of refusal if the transition is not justified well in an attached letter. However, it’s better to get a visa and then change program, if needed.

You can apply for PR whenever you complete the requirements of PR which has nothing to do with license or apprenticeship but it has more to do with the completion of study, work permit, job duration, IELTS score and other factors.
