  • Check out my review of the Alpine R-S65.2 coaxial 2-way speakers. They are the common 6.5 inches and come in a pair. I replaced my two front speakers with these when I realized my mid-bass was maxing out while listening to certain types of music. See below for more info:
    Alpine Speakers (R-S65.2): amzn.to/2Ub1NWq These are the speakers covered in the video.
    Power Pack (In-line AMP): amzn.to/2msHUfv Although I discuss the 445U in the videos, that model was superseded by this one which is superior although either model is a fantastic addition to any audio system. The 445U link is this one: amzn.to/2BWFV9n
    Soundskins Pro (single roll): amzn.to/2UZmgia one roll is good enough for 2 doors. I used 2 rolls for all 4 doors and had a bit left over. Check out my install video for a more thorough discussion on these. Link below.
    Soundskins Pro (3-pack): amzn.to/2IlCdcl This is a good idea to get if you also plan on doing the trunk or the inner/outer skin of the door.

    I have a question, these speakers, can be well powered, by an alpine KTP-445U amplifier, or need an ampifier with more power,I pretend to install them with the oem stereo, which amplifier they recommend for this speaker

    Put Type R 6.5s in the doors and 6x9s in boxes mounted to the ceiling in the back with an MTX DVC 10 in a 7th order box in a full size GMC van and they are simply amazing with the right power. Cannot imagine anything sounding better at the same volume.

      @@akqjtn 50w/ch Kenwood(3/4ch) on the mids and highs and an Alpine 500.1 on the sub(turned way down). Going to upgrade the Kenwood as the Type Rs seem to be asking for a little bit more power and then lite the sub up a bit more too. I am past the days of shaking the neighbors kitchen tables, nice and clean as well as LOUD rolling down the highway with windows up or open. It has enough juice to silence the GF no matter how loud she bitches!!

      I got them 6.5 comps in the front & 6.5 coaxials in the rear. Running a alpine type x on them. Had to turn the gains real low on the amp due to it make a hissing sound. My shop says sometimes you got to deal with the hiss to have these hit hard. It does hit hard but I don't like the hiss when no songs are playing. But overall it hits loud on gains setting low.

    Hey bro i bought these speakers for my Toyota Tacoma. I want to get the most of them. Do you think I should get an amp for them? And a line out converter? I do not want to add subs so would that matter? I’ve watched all your car audio videos by the way. Thank you for everything

      I replaced the front speakers in my F150 with the component ones. I was surprised how good they sound without an amp pushing them and just the stock HU. I’m thinking about adding a subwoofer first.

    Just had the R 12’ sub with halo box and R mono block amp installed. Next going to have the entire family of R speakers installed with the R 4 channel amp. I have an Acura TLX with ELS sound, have you heard these speakers and amps in a TLX with the factory ELS deck? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Hey good video, i just installed myself a pair of these with a alpine amp 100 Watts rms per channel and I’m at the tunning stage and I was playing them pritty loud and I could smell one of the speakers burning. Can you damage speakers when tuning them incorrectly?. I probably had the gain to high. Cheers👍

    • @lilbutts5107
      @lilbutts5107 4 роки тому

      Boost & Shutter yes there’s new speaker wire. I should be able to play the speakers max volume cause I got an amp giving it full rms power. But I don’t know if me having the gain on max and volume on max damage the speakers?

    • @rexnhogz
      @rexnhogz 4 роки тому

      @@lilbutts5107 the gain should never be on max its not a volume knob it matches voltage to the head unit. you get max power with the gain set very low typically barely 1/3 turn from lowest setting on a 5v preout.

    • @HI_grade
      @HI_grade 4 роки тому +1

      If you have alot of money why not get the x, but if you dont want to spend that much you definitely wont be disappointed with the type r speakers.
      I used them in 2 cars the component ones, and i love the sound. Just make sure you use a good quality amp that can push around the rated rms power.
      Definitely get the components, those will have the best sound quality.

      Perfect daily setup for me, nothing crazy but sounds really nice. I think rock music does sound good.

    • @Luminous.Dynamics
      @Luminous.Dynamics 7 місяців тому

      Aftermarket headunits dont put out 50wx4, those are max ratings/not nominal wattage. Most headunits that claim 50w x 4 put out 15w-20w per speaker at most

    POLARITY!!!??? The speaker terminals are not marked. (That I could find. Alpine didn't bother including a cut sheet) Ya know... + or -...??? There's a .250 terminal (1/4") and a skinnier one, I'm assuming is (1/8th") Which one is what!! Does polarity not matter on these?? I bet it does. Perhaps I should know which one is what if it is an industry standard, but I don't do this for a living. FUCK!!!
