Oooo would be awesome to see a compilation of Pier's that have burnt down - what they originally looked like, what they looked like just before the fire, during the fire, after the fire and then now :) that would be awesome!
@@tonykemp3432why did they intentionally stop the pier at the sports centre (or as the angry locals called it, the ‘pig shed’ 🤣). Was the part of walkway that wasn’t broken but stopped in the sea for boats to stop off at? And then did that break later?

It was a sports centre,,, my uncle was the general manager...mick kemp...the long part of the pier came down in a storm, 1978 I think

@@NinjaBartender a storm brought it down in 1978...... but they always thought to rebuild it and join the original bit at the end... Never happened...
Shame it was never rebuilt to its full length
