This prerelease sounds like it will be pretty bonkers with how large the set is 😅. Super excited for 2.0! Hopefully we see more top tiers enter the meta.
A friend actually got me to start playing Digimon TCG with a pre-release. I went to the BT16 pre-release because I did a pre-release when I played Yugioh years ago and had a lot of fun, so I figured I'd give this a go (plus he paid for me). Barely knowing how to play Digimon did NOT help me at all 🤣 But now that I DO know how to play, I'm looking forward to this one despite some initial hesitation because this set doesn't really have anything for my Omni and little for my Shoto Vortex (that I could see, at least). I know it's super unlikely and that trying to "go for" an archetype in pre-release before my pulls is likely a bad call (ie might try to force it), but I wouldn't mind getting a bunch of the Yao cards. Seems like an interesting playstyle, and having a lot of control in a pre-release could really mess with the opponents.
ive definitely had the prereleases where I've only pulled two of an archtype and I've gone "screw it if it happens its funny" - omni and shoto are defintely going to get more and more support in the future but the neat thing about BT18 is that you can probably build a new 'backup' deck from it and enjoy what you pull
@@rejigglypuff Fingers crossed, yeah! I know my buddy is buying at least one box, so maybe if he pulls stuff that interests me I can buy em off him to build another deck.
@@Zubagon should be- idk why they made things so weird this time around 😭 my pre is on Saturday so if the pack doesn’t reflect that I’ll add an update to the description but you should still be able to use the cards in the pack regardless
I'm a super new player, and just found out from my locals store that they're only running preconstructed decks but you can add pre-release cards to it. Made the mistake of grabbing the Yellow starter decks. Gonna get TROUNCED lol
Nah! Yellow is so good bc it has overclock!!! You can steal games with that out of nowhere tbh! Most people forget that mechanic! The cards that you can upgrade that deck before pre release are also all avaible from the ex7 set so it’s possible to make it a powerhouse
@@rejigglypuff yeah, I've been playing it on DCGO and I'm just getting wiped out every time. I probably just don't have the right instincts yet, but I'm learning. I'll keep trying to make it work :D
I know this might be bad to say but YES!!!! Finally a tcg channel that's not a guy! But more importantly thanks for making this video. Been trying to get back into the game and this is definitely helpful to keep in mind
Any advice on getting my stores to give digimon a chance? Not a single store I've ever been to hosts digimon, but its the one tcg I most want to play right now. My current stores only hosts Commander and One Piece. I really dont like online play, unfortunately
It’s going to be an uphill battle for sure. I know one of my locals managed to get it going at another shop they frequent just by being their consistently on a day that seemed to be empty of other torunreis and posting in the store discord that they were there to hang out for digimon if people wanted. They also had decks for people to play and borrow with. If that’s not a viable option in terms of extra decks- I suggest seeing if the store you go to will at least schedule a learn to play event. Bandai supplies the demo decks for it and you could always help run and demo it for people. It’s just a matter of perservernace at the end of it all

So just to double check, the Celebration Pack is just the previous Prerelease Pack but named differently, yea?
